The original Splatoon on the Wii U took me by surprise that does their own fresh twist on the FPS genre by featuring Inklings as playable characters and using ink as ammo.
2 years later, we get Splatoon 2 for the Nintendo Switch, which takes what we loved about the original and adds a whole lot of fresh features, including brand new weapons and new stages and ranking modes, as well as the new Salmon Run mode where you fight waves of enemies while trying to survive and win bonuses. The single player adventure mode is a blast to play and serves as good practice for veteran players or newcomers. And if you've already beaten it but want more, there's the DLC Octo Expansion campaign that lets you take on many more challenges as one of the Octolings.
The guide included in this version is very useful with tips and tricks for each stage.
Definitely a must have for multiplayer shooter fans of all ages.

If you liked the first one, you´ll love this sequel. Better graphics, new modes and weapons, better single player experience, it´s just a nice fast and fun package that you just can´t get enough.

The single player mode is a nice introduction but the real fun is the multiplayer and once you find the weapon set or two that click with you and get the basic mechanics down you'll be having a blast! You just can’t play it multiplayer with the same game cartridge. Must have separate copies and separate switches.) It's worth the money, you won't be sorry

How about some multiplayer mayhem with paint? This is a great shooter where you use paint to cover as much territory as you can in the time limited. Of course you can shoot your opponents as well but that won’t win you the match. Colorful smooth gameplay. No waiting to find an online match. Plenty of offline single player fun as well.

Splatoon 2 takes what the first game did and makes it even better with new weapons and moves to play with and even customizing your character. Hours of fun are to be had with this great game. The only downside is it not being a couch co-op style game. Each person would need their own switch system in order to play together

I wasn't too sure about getting this one because I'm not good at shooters. However, after 10+ hours of playing, I can say without a doubt the gameplay is addictive. I feel like the weapons are balanced. The maps have this cool design to them. The customization is solid. It is truly a fun game.

I ended up not being as nearly as excited about this game compared to the other gems I’ve picked up along the way. However that is not to say that this game is really fun and engaging as well. I still prefer Call of Duty and more straightforward shooting games but Nintendo has presented a good equivalent for this style of gameplay.

Fun game with strategy book for affordable price.Marie and weapons expert Sheldon, Agent 4 makes their way through Octo Canyon fighting Octarians and recovering several stolen Zapfish, including ones powering the Octarians' war machines, such as the Octo Oven and the Octo Shower. They discover that Callie herself has sided with the Octarians after being brainwashed by their leader, DJ Octavio, who has escaped his imprisonment after his defeat in the first game and once more is using the Great Zapfish to power his new DJ stage, the Octobot King II. Marie arrives with Sheldon and frees Callie from her mind control, and together they help Agent 4 defeat Octavio once more. With the Great Zapfish safely returned to Inkopolis, the Squid Sisters happily reunite and resume their musical career.

My 4 year old and I play this game all the time. I thought I was just getting an average game to play with my son, but this game is a very solid and loads of fun game to play. There is a little bit of learning to do but it's very small. Once you understand what you are doing in the game it will become a family favorite. I would say give it at least one week of playing it to learn all the things you can do in the game. Plus learning how to us the controls and changing them to what you like will make it even more fun. I highly suggest changing the config on the controller to what is best for you instead of using the default. This game is a nice hidden gem but you NEED time with it to learn how to play it and once you do it becomes a lot fun and gets easier.

I played the original splatoon on the wii u. It was fun, but this is definitely an approvement. My only gripe with the game is that they don't really explain the power ups or some of the other features in the game that go along with scoring.
If you are a really competitive person, this is probably not the best game. It can be irritating when you get paired with teammates that don't do anything or just choose not to play so they don't have to back out and get temporarily banned. So much of whether you win depends on your teammates and because you can't pick them, it can be frustrating.
You also have to be at a pretty high level to play different modes of the game. I feel like ranked battles should be available right away because then all the newer and lower level players could play together and be at a similar skill level.
I do love the concept of the game, I'm not into the shooting and killing games. It's nice to be able to focus on "painting" the field instead of seeking out other players to "splat".

Splatoon 2 is an amazing and fun game. The DLC really rounds out the single player but it should've been included because without it, the game feels like it's mostly multiplayer. I would Def purchase this game if you have a switch and enjoy a shooter with a more creative and fun approach.

Splatoon 2 is a good game for both casual and competitive players. The motion control aiming system feels good and is great fun to play with. Even though the game is more focused on Multiplayer, it also offers a single player mode.
