Trying to upgrade my HTC ONE (original) to a better phone.
Once HTC did the update, the microphone functioned ONLY in phone - NOWHERE else!
Returned for another M9. SAME ISSUE!
Returned again and bought Galaxy S6
Happy now!!

Had to get this phone replaced with another m9 because it wouldn't download software. Then had to get the replacement replaced and to avoid further issues I got the g4. Also had to return that phone and now I have the s6 which works great.

I must have received the bad one.
The techs could not activate it after two hours of trying in store and on the phone to Sprint. Re-activated my HTC One.

No lag, beautiful design. .. I know not that different from the m8, but still a great upgrade. Great phone, very fast, I use it for work which is amazing, I work for a billion dollar corporation and this phone's ability to multi task flawlessly is a big plus. Great camera, for rendition of it, expecting a software update still for the new bugs. Great screen, clarity and responsiveness. I go to night school for business marketing and this phone has caught everyone's eye, but the fact that I can take notes and open any file is great. I work on the field so the lunch options are Great but the app selection based on location not so much. I have a work phone which is an iphone, but just doesn't compare to htc's multitasking and smooth UI.

have had my fair share of HTC devices
and even though this is just a small update to the M8 it is still an amazing phone. I have had one of the first androids on a CDMA network with the Hero and that spawned the love I have for HTC.
The M9 feels great in the hand with just the right size screen and perfect resolution for most if not all viewing needs. The hardware is excellent for the great design of the phone. I have noticed that it does get warm with heavy usage but nothing serious. I have found that Sense 7 is buttery smooth to go with the great looking UI and it looks great with the beautiful build quality.
The camera when used with stock settings is at best a 6/10 but if you google M9 manual camera settings and find the great article on android central or xda about making adjustments manually then the camera is easily 8/10
Audio quality is once again amazing.
I think if you are an HTC fan then you may just enjoy the M9 but if you are coming from Samsung, LG or even Apple or Windows Phone this may not impress you enough.

This phone was shipped on Nov. 2nd and I had an issue right out of the box. The package had no packing stuff in it, just the open phone box inside a larger box. Luckily the phone seems ok so I attempted to turn it on to activate it. Not turning on so I plug it in, screen lit up but the battery was at 0%. This was odd because most vendors send some type of charge on the device or have the battery removed for shipping. I get it charged up and attempt to activate it. No-go, have to call in. I mention the shipping issue with the box and we try to activate the phone. Two reps later and a hold to get Sprint involved (2hrs) the phone activates. Now the updates to get 5.1 on it. This was the only expected part.
Now the phone is running but there is an access point set already, BBYDEMO. No wonder the box was opened and everything all over the place from shipping, Best Buy has pawned off a refurb or Demo store display unit to me as new...
Now I'm ticked off and I call it in again, I get the typical "we will look into it and get back to you." After a couple of days, I send an e-mail and the run around starts. We do not have a record of you reporting this, we are sorry about the issue but we cannot do anything, you are outside the 14 day warranty period. All of which is a total lie. I'm posting this on Nov. 16th. The phone shipped on Nov. 2nd. Which is the 14th day, all of this started before the 14 days were up.
Short Summary. Watch out for Best Buy dumping Refrub or Demo store displays if you buy online. I would assume this could be true for any electronics they sell. Something to watch out for as the Christmas season approaches. Also expect zero support or customer service for issue even within the "14 day period".
