Amazing game. Great graphics and fast paced space fighter arcade action. Our family is really enjoying it. It is quickly becoming my ten year old son's favorite game. The controls are not that hard to figure out (they might be hard for a child under 8). They actually add a lot to the game, making it more fun, engaging, and challenging. You can replay the levels over and over again to find new stuff and paths. If you like the Metroid game in Nintendo Land and the old Star Fox games you will really enjoy this game. Getting the Star Fox Guard bonus game really adds to the value. Overall Star Fox Zero is an outstanding arcade shooter that the whole family can enjoy.

Good game not great. Takes awhile to get use to the motion control system and the dual screen gameplay. Took me awhile to get into it, I prefer the N64 and GameCube game style better, still a game worth trying out

Takes the Star Fox 64 game and attempts a redo. A lot of the same levels are here with some new ones and different traversing modes. The running aspect of the arwing was strange and hard to control in first person. Still really fun though

Star Fox Zero is a great combination of Star Fox 64 and Star Fox 2 with spruced up visuals and an intriguing control scheme. Nintendo doubled down on the motion controls and although they require some time to get used to, they are ultimately functional. The game doesn't do anything daring or attempt to reinvent Star Fox but does a solid job of reminding the player of the previous greats in the series. Although it can't compete with the Wii U's top tier of releases, it makes for a great nostalgia trip. Also included in the first print of the game is Star Fox Guard which is a surprisingly deep and phenomenally built tower defense game. While monitoring your base, the game throws constant and very interesting curve balls. While it would have worked in any of Nintendo's IPs, it is a great addition to the Star Fox Zero package and ultimately makes for a great addition to any Wii U owner's shelf.

This game is pretty much a mess. The biggest problem is the motion control. Yes, you can get used to it and eventually perform decently, but getting to that point requires a lot of effort and pretending that nothing is amiss. Strip away the motion controls and you'd have a decent, if unfocused, successor to Star Fox 64, which is something that would make many people extremely happy. However, with no traditional control scheme, most people won't want to stick around to witness the few things Star Fox Zero gets right. Stick to a rental if you're interested but unsure if the game is for you.

This game is unique and fun, playing it with the Gamepad sure spices things up. At first in can be rather weird to get used to the controls but once you do, its a blast to play.

Star Fox Zero is fantastic but the learning curve for the controls makes it really rough to enjoy initially. Once you get the hang of them the game becomes incredibly rewarding.

I bought this game for my 6 yr old and it continues to challenge him instead of it allowing him to quickly go through the levels and beat it in less than a week. It is worth the price paid if you are looking for a decent game to keep the kids challenged.

I'm a Star Fox fan ever since the first Star Fox game came out on the SNES in the early 90s. Star Fox has been a great game for all ages and I recommend thid Star Fox game to people to get. This game has great graphics and sounds plus a lot of activity with the Wii U Gamepad controller as well. It also comes with a second game called "Star Fox Guard". It's a puzzle strategy game that requires thinking but you'll get the hang of it easily with its tutorial level. If you're deciding to buy this bundle for the price of one, trust me it's worth it and you won't be disappointed. I recommend this game to everyone to get!

This is a lot of fun, you just need to get used to the controls. The reviews seem to not really try to give the controls a chance and only complain about them. The story can feel short but you need to play through multiple times to get everything.

I remember this game for the N64, it was a great game. The Wii U version is good aswell. Better graphics and gameplay but was hoping to be much better then the last gen console. Overall, good game. Bought it at a great price at Bestbuy as always!

The controls will take a while to get used to, there is one slow part in the game that can discourage some impatient people, and the game is overall short BUT replay value is high. It is worth checking out, for the epic feel, and engrossing music.

I've been a long time Nintendo fan since they started and have finished all the Star Fox game released, now including this one. This is just a missed opportunity and quite frankly a waste of time and money. I'm still trying to figure out where the "Zero" in the title came from; it isn't a sequel, but rather a remix of Star Fox 64. Star Fox 64 was re-released a few years back on 3ds. First question, why do we need a game that treads little to no new ground, and removes features from the old games, like the Arwing no longer taking wing damage? The new features are the new vehicles and transformations, but they fall flat. The Arwing turns into a bird-like walker for land battles, but the Landmaster can transform and fly. Why do we need both? This game has fewer branching paths than Star Fox 64, so the new vehicles get used maybe once, then are never used again. The same can be said for a few characters in the game, being introduced, then forgotten about. There is a complete lack of story in the game, following the basic plot of the 64 version. The opening of the game is scrolling text based like the beginning of Star Wars, rather than even attempting to do any kind of cutscenes or break new ground. I was hoping that the game would have been minimalist so that it would succeed rather than over-thinking it like in previous games, but seems to oversimplify areas that don't need to be and complicate the game play with the unnecessary transformations and controls. The motion controls are not good. Turn them off. Enough said on that. The main problem I have is mapping the spin to the right stick. It's not fluid to double tap a stick to roll. It just doesn't work that well. All in all, the game isn't the absolute worst, but it just leaves a very Banjo-kazooie Nuts N Bolts feel. It's enjoyable to a point, but still feels lackluster and may as well have not been made. If you've played Star Fox 64 and want to spend your disappointment on something more worthwhile, check out Star Fox Assault on Gamecube. It feels like the progression this should have taken, and has a different story. It honestly wasn't that great, but it feels more like they tried, rather than literally making the same game a 3rd or 4th time depend on how you view the original. Final word: It may be worth 20 bucks; this game feels like it should have shipped with the Wii U as a tech demo.

While Star Fox Zero may not be the best game on the Wii U. It's still a pretty fun game even if the controls are hard to master. The levels are fun, the new additions like the Walker are fun to use and even the voice acting is pretty good.

The game is like Star Fox 64 but with a few new twists such as the transformations and boss fights that utilize these new mechanics. If you're a fan of the Star Fox series then this might be a game you can pass up on because it's pretty much just Star Fox 64 all over again. I did enjoy the transformations but it made the controls very difficult to adjust to which is part of the reason I could only give it 3 stars. It's also not a very long game and can be beaten in just a few hours but you can replay it to find hidden stuff in the levels which you might like if you're a completionist. If you don't enjoy 100% completing a game then this might not be the game for you.

This is one of those games where you'll enjoy it if you're willing to give it enough time to learn the controls. The game is meant to be replayed for high scores, so your first run might not be that great if you have a hard time adjusting.

A solid Starfox game for those who played it back in the days and loved the first one. This one will not disappoint although the control are a bit hard to get at first. Because of that, I do not recommend this game for player under 8.

Really fun game, but the gamepad style controls are a bit wonky and take time to getting used to. But if you are a fan of star fox games, this one is worth playing. Google For the Love of Gaming to check out a cool gaming podcast.
