ive played about 7 hours so far and its the standard jrpg other than there arent really cutscenes, its all in-game, which i dont like as much, and the camera needs to be patched, but you get used to it and its not unplayable.

Action RPG that is only slightly above average. Sometimes has annoying voice acting. Battles are mostly button mashing with little variation to them. As a fan of the series I was expecting it to be better.

The reviews on this game were very middle of the road. However, as a huge fan of this series I don't think it's awful. The battle system is fun and the concept of an 8 person party is interesting.

Give you hours of game play with plenty to explore. The combat system is interesting and allows for 6 characters to be out at once

The world is expansive, and you just don't understand how big it truly is as it keeps growing wonderfully. If the American voice acting was better this would have been an easy 5 stars.

In this entry the camera in particular drives me insane. No matter how I tweak it in the settings I'm still unsatisfied with the speed and depth. I am a big fan of the last hope international but the pacing at the beginning of this game didn't grab me. I only played 2 hours and haven't touched it since. I know though that if I were to take the time to adapt to the field of vision the battles and abilities would entertain me. But with this entry I needed it to grab me because I am a college student pressed for time and it didn't.

Game is currently priced at $19.99, and is worth that much for those new to the series. I personally enjoyed the game, and have followed the series since the PS2 era.

I've logged about 7 hours of gameplay for this title so far. I love the atmosphere, the voice acting, and the graphics. The game feels to me like a blend of Tales of Zestiria and Sword Art Online: Lost Song. The combat system doesn't quite reach what Zesteria brought to the table, but it is similar. I've heard about qualms with the length of the game, but that doesn't bother me. As long as the game is fulfilling in whatever length it is, I will be satisfied.

I have played previous Star oceans titles and was a bit cautious of this one. I'm not the person to listen to reviews much but all i gotta say is that this game delivered what i expected from it. Nice visuals, lovable characters, awesome story . Overall a 10/10!

I heard this one was a lot like SO3 and it is not. I remember spending well over 100 hours with SO3 and thats without doing everything and with this one I spent 40 hours and feel like I got through 90% of what the game has to offer me. Story is okay but nothing special. I would recommend this game for $30 and not the full price tag. The combat is where this game really shines but I just can't help but feel that this game was really rushed. Overall the game is a solid 6/10 or 3/5 here on Bestbuy.

Don't expect the last hope but great rpg nonetheless. Great graphics. Sparse traditional cutscenes as everything takes real time. Decent story so far.

I love the story! And Best Buy was cheaper than the Play Station store or Game Stop.

I'm a big fan of the older Final Fantasy games and this game was similar in play enough with its own unique story to keep my attention.

The JRPG has a fun turn based combat with a great scenery to where I was fully immersed into the game.

Ive been looking everywhere for this copy of the game. Took me a while but i managed to find one and man im loving it.

The camera made me motion sick. I really tried even though I was aware of this issue but I couldn’t handle it.

Star Ocean is a storied franchise, and with it, some good games. This one is good, but the world feels empty.

Great game with stunning story! Must have if you like RPGs.
