I've watched Star Trek since the originals as a boy. I would have never guessed how awesome the revival of this classic series would be today. I love to see these new movies with the CG of today come from what I remember the ones as a boy. Its just great to be able to have not just the story and characters draw you in, but the visually jaw dropping, action packed, futuristic scenes as well.

It seems that many Trekkies have not been thrilled with the newer StarTrek films. The plot of this movie had some weaknesses in it as well, but the interactions of the cast members offset that, especially between Spock and Bones. Watching on a 4k TV with HDR really brought the film to life. It more than offset some of the weaknesses in the plot. All in all, it was an enjoyable film.

This was the lesser of the first three Star Trek reboots, but that doesn't not make it a good film, as ALL the reboots have been fantastic. This movie reminded me more of an original Star Trek movie. It is simpler in story and it introduces a lot of fun into the movie, which you'll notice immediately when the movie starts. Anyway, good stuff, and it looks great in 4K and has wonderful sound with the Dolby Atmos. Very happy I bought this!

Bought this mostly to check out the Ultra Blu-Ray in the XBox 1s. Coupled with a 4k television the quality was excellent, though I'm not sure I'm discerning enough to really notice the difference between Blu-Ray and Ultra Blu-Ray. The movie itself was well done. Heavier on action than some of the early Star Trek movies, but the acting and casting were excellent.

I know Best Buy asks for product reviews but how do you review a Blu-Ray disc without sounding like a movie critic? If you enjoy Star Trek and want to add to your collection, you should consider this. Enough said on that. Regarding the product itself, it was packaged securely and in excellent condition. Upon viewing it, I found the disc to be in top condition and playback was typical of the high quality viewing you'd expect of a Blu-Ray disc.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new installment to the Star Trek series. I feel that they did a very good job with the story line, giving way to maybe adding additional characters in the future. It was sad to think that Anton Yeltsin would not be around to reprise the role of Chekov in future installments. Overall It was very entertaining and a recommended watch.

Pre order of the latest Star Trek in 4k Blu ray, and digital copy at a very good price. Thanks to a BB gift certificate the movie only cost me $2 and on top of that $5 bonus gift cert was awarded to me so I purchased a $5 movie 'the Army of Darkness! Great experience, easy pickup on preorder and free merchandise! Got to love Best Buy membership program.

The movie was great. However, movie reviews can be seen on other sites. What matters here is the 4k quality. I would give it a 4 out of 5 for picture quality. That's pretty decent when I can only think of 2 other movies in the 5 star image quality range. (Sicario and Revenant) - I won't get into techical stuff because it's going to depend on your TV.

Another excellent installment of the rebooted series! There are some who do not like the rebooted series due to new characters, but honestly, using the original characters is not "logical". The new cast and story lines are very good and pay homage to the original. Stop complaining and give the rebooted series a chance. You will not be disappointed!

First this is an upscaled 2K to 4K disc and may not be worth the upgrade if already owned. Since it was not in my collection I opted for the on sale 4K version. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this version to a friend. Second, regarding the movie, while I did not feel that it had the story or the charm of the first, it certainly was an improvement over the second. Action lovers, you will not be disappointed.

Once you view movies in this format, you just don't want to watch it in any other way. We have introduced many family and friends to movies and TV's in the 4K Ultra format and they are amazed at how it feels like you are watching it made in front of your eyes. It's like being apart of the action. I highly recommend 4K Ultra movies and TV's.

I've seen this in IMAX and it didn't dissappoint at all. Watching this in 4K on a 4k TV with HDR is just amazing. The colors just pop and the detail in the color shades is a sight to see. The special features did'nt dissappoint but I definnitely wished there was more. If you have the first two you need to add this to that collection.

After a lackluster sequel the third entry in the rebooted Star Trek series finally nails the tone of the classic series. Written by Simon Pegg, who also features as Scottie, it seems all the issues that fans had with the previous two films were heard and they attempted to put out a film for fans which honored the source. With the exception of one character backstory that was needlessly added the rest of the film was great.

I bought this movie for the purpose of testing out my TV to make it sweat a little and I have to say the scenes are great and it's also a great benchmark for your TV due to the multiple bright and dark color scenes and with the space views from the ship you can see how deep the blacks on your TV can go. Thanks to this movie I returned my tv for a better model due to slight grey black levels and I'm very happy now.

This was my second 4k movie viewing and it didn't disappoint. Picture is sharp and crisp, the audio is powerful (TV speakers only). The only issue is there are no supplements on the 4k disc; they are on the enclosed Blu ray. For the price, the 4k + BD + digital is a great buy. The movie is a different matter.

All I can say is if you like Star Trek you won't be disappointed. The new cast is great. The 4K Ultra makes the movie crystal clear. The computer graphics jumps out at you. The sound is encapsulating. I hope they make a few more movies to continue the series. Sadly they will have to replace Anton Yelchin.

Justin Lin chartered his own course by shooting on 3.4K and 6K digital cameras. The flatter contrast level, especially in the darker scenes, holds up on both the 4K and Blu-ray discs. The daylight scenes are more striking, with richer colors and more detail in the shots of Yorktown (credit the 4K/HDR expansive levels).

There was a different tone for this movie with Abrams handing over the reins and the writers involved but it was a cool change of pace. The UHD version is great but that's to be expected. I haven't watched a standard Blu ray version so I can't compare but I'm expecting the gap to widen more and more over time.

4K res and an HDR, how could it get any better? With an almost 4K film capture and then downscaled to a 2K master and then upscaled back to 4K, it looks pretty amazing. Mmmm and then the Beastie Boys scene @75db with my receiver in Dolby Atmos, forget about it. Excellent flick to watch in the dark on an LG OLED.

Must see in order to keep up with the series. Not the greatest of all of the Star Trek movies.
