To be honest, this purchase was an impulse buy & it was the best one I ever made!! Gift for my husband and he loves it. Almost every guy I passed while in Best Buy finishing the rest of my shopping said they thought it was a great gift & was very jealous. I would recommend this Star Trek Blue tooth communicator to any fan & I know my husband sure enjoys showing it off. A very unique item, a great conversation piece and so much fun to use.

Okay I should probably feel like a total nerd for buying this, but I have zero regrets and absolutely love it. I grew up watching the original Star Trek series and have wanted a communicator like this ever since. The quality of build is amazing and highly accurate to what you see in the tv series. It's made of sturdy materials and the electronics operate flawlessly. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Star Trek related items.

I purchased the communicator for my husband to make it easier to answer. I it is very clear when calling or and answering, which makes for a great cellphone additive.

This a very well made replica. I wish the speaker was louder but the over quality is amazing.

It is well made and a great collectors item. Unfortunately not much daily use other than as a speaker phone, it is not loud/good enough to be used as a portable speaker for listening to music.

Kirk would be proud! Granted, my smart phone is orders of magnitude more functional with its instantaneous global-wide communications capability and awesome graphic interface. But d@mn it, Jim!! It's amazing how easily functionality is trumped by the opportunity to own the coolest thing your 12 year-old heart ever desired!. And it's works very well as a blue-tooth device too!

I've had the Communicator for a few weeks now and I find myself using it much more than I had thought I would. This thing is awesome!!! It brought back so many childhood memories and the hope to one day have one that works. Well that day has come! This works absolutely PERFECT! I haven't had any issue with people understanding me on the other end of the calls at all.

The sounds are spot on!! Syncs very fast with all my devices!!!

It was easy to pair and use with my phone and works well. Only negitive is that it will come on when put on the charger and connects automatically unless I go into the phone and stop it.

Nice volume sound, has cool sound effects and great bluetooth range.

This is not a toy. This is a solid, well built , fully functional Blue-Tooth Device. It is true to the TOS prop. Fans of 'The Original Series' will feel like Kirk on an away mission when using this Communicator ! The storage case is top notch as well, and will protect the device when not in use, or when being transported on another mission.

This is a "must have" if you are a Star Trek junkie. The Communicator is made of metal and hardened plastic (somewhat similar in composition to the old phones that are unbreakable). There are about five recorded voices of the Star Trek team: Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Doc, Ohura, and the Bluetooth pairs with your cellphone to accept or send phone calls.

So as you've probably noticed, this item is expensive. I paid $100 and that was on sale. Is it actually worth $100? No, but I had a gift card and for that kind of no-guilt situation I am happy I got this. It doesn't serve much of a practical purpose (why would you need a loudspeaker for your cell phone in your pocket with your cell pbone?), but as a fun fan toy, I still really enjoy having this. It's reasonably well built and you can tell that those who designed it were real fans. Even the instructions are full of clever references to the show that only the more dedicated would understand.

My Dad has lost most of his sight. He has a hard time using his cell phone and this product makes it easy to receive and make calls. He loves it. The only draw back is it only has four hours of battery time, it means that he has to recharge it all the time. Other than that he loves it. PS he is a big Star Trac Fan.

I use this for my desk phone and it works great. The nerdist part enjoys the sounds and lights and how it works much like what was demonstrated in series. Awesome

I was blown away when I first powered this up and the moire wheel started to turn. I had the real thing in my hand. Linked with phone and is truly amazing! Worth every penny. Even bought another one for my wife. We've had them 2 years and I use mine all the time.

I had seen this in the store sometime back. Thought it was kind of cool being an old time Star Trek fan, but certainly didn't want to pay full price. When it came up online 33% off, made the purchase and it certainly makes a conversation piece on my desk, especially with the IT folks...
