I’ve always loved the Original Star Trek movies, but haven’t owned them as an adult. So when I saw I could get them all for $35 on blu-ray, I had to get it. I just started the original series with my kids and they love it (even with the 1966 special effects). Can’t wait to watch all the movies with them, too.

For the Star Trek fans out there, here's the best so far for anyone wanting to own all the original cast Star Trek films, all 6 of them! All films are the theatrical release, remastered to full High Def, 1080P Blu Ray. Now, none of the special effects have been re-done, just the movies re-mastered, so the films have shown their age, but you can't fault them for that. There is also lots of extras and commentaries for all the films, making it a great value.

If you're a fan of the original Star Trek series you will enjoy this collection. I have had no issues with the discs. Colors are vibrant, video is sharp.

We all know that the Star Trek Franchise has started a lot of engineer, math and physic geeks looking at what Gene Roddenberry thought the future would be like. Funny thing about this action, it usually becomes a self fullfilling prophecy. We know that the Odd numbered Star Trek movies were the "Odd Ones" and the Even numbered were the good ones. Nothing has changed for this set, it just has brought them out of VHS, BETAMAX and Laser Disc to glorious Blue Ray. If you are a die hard Treky, then you need to get this collection, and smile as you through your outdated formats in the trash or over to Goodwill. Source Material for behind the scenes stuff is pretty much normal. Commentaries, some photos and trailers, but these are not for "Special Features" these movies are for the diehard Treky to upgrade or complete thier ST set in BluRay. I did not get it in 4K since I do not have that yet, but it is still beautiful to see NC-1701 A fly around, face Khan, Find Spock again, save the whales and usher in a new time for peace in the Galaxy after 70 years of unremitted hostilities with the Klingons. Go forth and buy this set!!

As a man of a certain age I grew up on Star Trek and I have been a long time follower of the series. Never a Trekkie but a lover of the story and it's diversity. Well cast, written and for the time produced the TV series was the start of a long friendship with the crew of the Enterprise. So when a movie was announced, like everyone else from my generation I couldn't wait for the chance to see the crew back together and on the big screen. While Star Trek the Motion Picture did not live up to the hype, watching it again after all these years it did capture the essence of the series if not the heart and pacing. Wrath of Khan got it right and produced the formula that would allow the franchise to flourish, including expansion into TNG and Deep Space 9 and so on. They fit and finish on each of these films is excellent and they are all well presented, I spent a couple of days basking in the glow of my childhood and enjoyed every moment of it.

Purchased it as my bf and I where watching all the seasons and needed to see the movies.

This is a great collection for fans of the original series. May the force be with you!

Great deal all 6 movies in blue Ray at a great price

These six movies were made between 1979 and ‘91 with the cast of the original Star Trek series. As such, these movies are a must for fans (like me) of the original Star Trek; but I believe that these movies would also appeal to sci-fi fans of all types. The stories are intelligently written, the acting is good, and the Blu-ray and 7.1 Dolby make them a visual and audio treat. Of course, the special effects are not up to the CGI era; but at a ridiculously low price for the six movies one cannot go wrong.

My husband and I both love Star Trek, but were shocked when we realized we don't have all the movies! Then we see this nicely packaged collection, just for us! We watched all of them in one sitting. The quality is great for the older films and the stories will have you reaching for the popcorn! We loved this collection, but we do wish there were more special features. That happens with older movies sometimes, not as many special features. Otherwise we have no complaints! If you want to add to your collection, this is a must have!

I have the set on DVD, and decided to pick this up at the same time as the TNG BR box set. What I have seen so far looks good, but they seem to be the theatrical releases, NOT the directors editions that were in the last DVD box set. Need to rewatch them side by side with the dvds to see what version they are. If they are director's editions, its a no brainer to get the set. If not, I'm temporarily stuck with the standard definition dvds. That would be sad. Recommendation to a friend is no, will change to yes if they are director's cut versions of the movies.

I am happy to have found the first six Star Trek movies in one Blu-ray collection for so much less cost than buying each movie individually. The Blu-ray picture quality is great! Eventually, I hope to get all the various series of Star Trek TV shows, too. Now that Blu-ray is reasonably priced, I am even picking up discs of many other movies I own in DVD format. And, since I own the discs, I don't need a service or internet connection.

This was a nice purchase, being able to get all six movies starring the Original Cast in one set. I had the movies on separate DVDs and now prefer to have Blu-rays. The picture is crisp and clear and it's been a joy to relive these episodes. The new movies are very good, but without this group, there wouldn't be the new series. If you're a fan of the Original Series and the cast, I recommend this set. A very reasonable price!
