Great movie! Star Trek will never get a blank check like this again

While not the best of the Original 6 movies, it is the only one that feels more cinematic than the rest. The Jerry Goldsmith score is it's greatest asset. Excellent 4k restoration. Great features.

This movie came out in 1979, after 10 years of being off the air. I think it had a good story line w/ good special effect for the time. It also helped set the pace for the future Star Trek Movies.

The weakest entry in the original crew movie adventures, but still a good movie. I love the story and this version is the best for this film. I love the improved effects.

Have owned this movie on VHS & DVD. Wanted to see if the newly remastered 4K was worth it. I watched old DVD and new 4K back to back and it is very much worth purchasing. Much cleaner picture and still the original great movie.

Enjoyed this one many years ago absms with all the new extras i enjoyed it even more this time around.

Love the quality of the film on 4k, I have Paramount Plus and a Samsung Q70r Qled and the disc blows streaming away.

This is a great video quality update of a great classic Star Trek movie.

Great Picture, Great Sound, And Great Movies what else could you ask for?

I cannot say enough of what a great job Paramount has done to this first original Star Trek movie. It looks fantastic now with the updated effects, etc. I really enjoy this one now even more. Had to get it with the slipcover to add to the other 5 in the series. They all look great and sound great. Better than ever before. Menus are good with easy selections. Artwork is superb with nice slipcover. I highly recommend this one!

Playing the Atmos mix on an older 5.1 Dolby system seems to struggle with speech levels. Still playing with surround modes to dial it in. Just not sure why they have 5.1 track on other languages though. Why not mix in an English 5.1 option for older systems? Otherwise glad to have it.

the 4K definition DOES reveal the limitations of the effects that were available in the late 70's . But the extra care on the soundtrack is much appreciated . It's still wonderful storyline and always time well spent .

As a long time fan of not only Star Trek, but The Motion Picture I loved watching The Director's Edition in 4K at home. The sound and picture are mostly amazing, with a few scenes being soft, but overall this is a definitive if you love Star Trek and The Motion Picture.

Beautiful, clear picture on this cleaned up version of the long awaited director’s version. The price was a bit stupid at 26 dollars plus shipping, but the movie is worth it in the end.

Great cinematography for the time it was originally filmed brought back to life enhanced to 4k Digital Dolby Vision quality and surround sound. The additional footage added to a worthwhile movie experience.

The original series cast at their best. Special effects from the 1970’s that hold up. A pure science fiction film for science fiction fans.

Finally after almost 45 years, this great movie is released in 4k. Well done!!! Crystal clear picture, extra footage, and a homage to one of the greatest science fiction series ever.

I remember seeing this movie in the theater as a kid!! I was hooked!! I've been a Star Trek (original series fan) ever since!!!

Fantastic disc! Newly rendered effects in 4K Dolby Vision along woth an Atmos audio track makes this movie the best it has ever looked and sounded.
