Got this game for my brand new Xbox One X and looks amazing. Great control, story and graphics. Big improvement since Battlefront 1. Great single player game play and story and good and entertaining multi player.

I know. I know. This game got a bad rap when it 1st released. With all of the loot box controversy. But in the end, that was ironed down to what should've been a solid game-play experience. Well, I can't speak for PS4 or PC versions, but the Xbox One version is so buggy, you'd be lucky to get it to load up the 1st time after powering on. Once you are able to play, however, it's not a bad game at all. I came for the story, so I Look forward to completing that before I move on to online multiplayer. Wish me luck. Still, I got it on sale and I'm still not that happy with it. I do like what story bits I have played through so far, so maybe there's a new hope around the corner. I don't recommend this if you're not a Star Wars fan and I barely recommend this to anyone else. Buy at your own risk.

Great game, easier gameplay than the original, I think. Pretty cool story and character/ game options.

I enjoyed playing Star Wars Battlefront, so when I saw that a “Star Wars Battlefront II” video game was going to be released, I preordered it. The graphics in the game play are good, as are the mini movies and cut scenes. I would recommend this video game to my friends. Especially on the Xbox gaming system. Enjoy!! “Long live the Rebels!!”

This game has a single player campaign. Which is fun & challenging. Set pieces from the movies. Graphically, one of the best looking games out there. Multiplayer has mixed feelings from players. One being the micro transactions & the other, the loot crate system. Giving the game a pay-to-win feel & other people in-game w/ stronger stats. You can get killed to easily, for other players are stronger than you are, if they've invested in it beforehand. DICE is taking feedback & making necessary changes w/ patches to make a better gaming experience for this game. I would wait till the new game price wears off & updates are set into motion. I would wait until a price drop of $39 to $29. $39 being a fixed game & $29 being the single player experience alone.

My review is only for the single-player campaign so please bear that in mind. The campaign is definitely better than the first game and is surprisingly lengthy at about 8-10 hours, depending on how fast you want to complete the game but the graphical beauty will be missed. I played the game on an XBOX One X on a 1080p TV and can imagine how awesome it would look on a 4K TV. Sometimes there is no time to take in the sights due to the frantic shootouts in space but it is still wonderful to see the fighters, ships and asteroids which need to be avoided so as to not crash into them. The planets look authentic and makes you think you're in a Star Wars movie. There aren't many items to locate say as the Far Cry series but upgrades to weapons are made by finding crates or opening them after completing missions and serves the purpose. They can also be purchased with real money but the game is enjoyable enough as is without having to spend more. There are other modes which I haven't tried yet such as an Arcade mode where you fight off the enemy on different planets and also a Starfighter assault mode which is similar. The multiplayer is where the game's strength lies and there is a wide choice of characters to choose from. I wouldn't know how good the servers are not having played in multiplayer. I wasn't going to get the game at first but Best Buy had a special deal so I took a chance and am glad that I did. It's not the deepest game like Fallout 4 but does provide the fun of being in a Star Wars setting. It's mostly based on use of the right weapon at the right time and the accuracy of your shooting. Your flying skills will also be tested and is exciting to be in space battles. If you have EA Access on your XBOX, you can download a trial version to preview the game which starts at the beginning of the campaign. It costs $4.99 for a month if you just want to check out a few games at first or get a year's subscription for about $30 which gives access to a lot of great games for the money.

I'm not getting into the look crate issue that created such a controversy before this game was even released. EA backed off of them (if only temporarily) and you'll have to decide whether you'll pay extra money to buy those crates or not if they ever do return. I want to address the game for what it is. First things first, it's absolutely gorgeous. Easily one of the most graphically impressive games I've ever seen. It's an overall fun first-person shooter set in the Star Wars universe. The single playing campaign is just OK. I feel it moves too fast and there are plot points that feel like they weren't thought through very well. It also moves really fast. And I'm not talking about it only lasting about 4-5 hours. I mean the story jumps from one scene to another where several years have passed and never really explains what's happened or changed in the world during that time. OK try, but still leaves much to be desired. Where this game really shines is in the multiplayer (loot crates aside). The maps feel authentic to the franchise and the game modes are fun. I never got the feeling that the gameplay feels repetitive even though you're doing many of the same actions over and over. Galactic Assault is also A LOT of fun. My one gripe with the multiplayer is that it can feel like a grind to unlock all of the characters.

A Fun Game for 18+ Adults

It's a fun game for OLDER audiences, I'd say rated Mature due to significant violence (not as violent as Assasin's creed...but much more graphic than old school Lucasfilm games--this is no Rebel Assault from back in the day). Great motion handling, beautiful graphics, fun scenarios from the Star Wars Universe, and a solid musical score. Again, if your older, you'll have fun (18+) but parents please skip this one for the kiddos and younger teens. Also, I think playing a character who gratuitously kills members of the Rebel Alliance in the first part of the game ("the good guys") didn't make me feel respect for the main character--kind of turned her into a murderer, so it was hard to empathize with her later on in the game. Just saying...

Game is a lot of fun and looks beautiful. Campaign is very linear and directed with no real decisions to make except which path to get to the same goal. Story is excellent though and engaging. Starfighter combat, once you get a hang of the new controls, is by far the most fun of the game. Multiplayer is nice but i wish there were larger games than20v20

I've always been a fan of Star Wars myself, knowing the lore, games and whatnot. This is a must buy for any Star Wars fan despite the controversy concerning microtransactions in today's gaming industry. Battlefront 2 has an amazing campaign which explores the rise of the First Order and other events such as the Battle of Jakku, allowing the player to pick up on the latest Star Wars movies and how some events came to be. Multiplayer wise, the gameplay is pretty fair as it allows players to complete objectives as 5 different classes which may either support other players or turn you into a juggernaut. The first 4 are basic troopers and the 5th class is either a reinforcement or hero/villain. Unfortunately, iconic characters such as Vader and Luke have to be unlocked by in game credits. In the end, you really can't go wrong with this game no matter what the reviews say about microtransactions. Personally, I have had little to no issues in the multiplayer when it comes to balance, even if players do rely on paying to win.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is hands down way better than the first Battlefront game. They finally have a campaign plus multiplayer mode which gives it more playability. The campaign unfortunately is shorter than I would like but it’s a start. The gameplay is exciting, easy to play and the graphics are amazing. Great game overall and doesn’t disappoint.

Despite the press on Battlefront 2 in the days leading up to the release, this is a great game. I’m not a big gamer but I have been playing this almost everyday since release. Campaign is awesome, 4K makes it even better. Graphics, game play, so far everything I’ve done is spot on. From an amateur gamer and Star Wars fan.

Despite the bad press that was given to EA about this game prior to release, I decided to give them a shot. I am glad I did. The game looks amazing and continues to keep me coming back. The multiplayer has a decent amount of variety and is a lot of fun. The starfighter assault has been the one mode that I can't seem to get enough of. The matches are somewhat quick and can get really chaotic at times. The single player story starts out a little slow and unfulfilling, but after about the 3rd mission it starts to get really good. The time frame in the story (between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens) is great for those who were fans of the original trilogy.

I've always loved Star Wars and I loved playing both the original titles for the PS2 back in the day (the nostalgia is real), and I do have to say this one is leaps and bounds better than Battlefront 1 that came out a few years ago. This one is definitely very close to playing the original Battlefront games from years ago. My only complaint about the game is how long it takes to actually gain enough credits to unlock heroes, crates, etc. Usually you get about 125 credit per game depending on the game mode you play, but to unlock certain heroes you need about 10,000-15,000 credits to unlock. Other than that, definitely a fun game to play.

There’s a lot of recent negativity around the game. I get it, the progression system isn’t great and the loot crates are god awful but putting all that aside showed how much of a fun game Battlefront II is. I don’t have many hours in compared to other people and I can still do great against the people who probably are higher level and have better star cards than me. It’s loads of fun to play and it’s a gorgeous game for the Star Wars universe. It can be fun and competitive at the same time which is great for all types of players. I was skeptical at first and wanted to cancel my pre order but in the end I decided to keep it because I didn’t care about all the negativity that surrounds this game. There’s still a mass community that supports the game and I’m definitely one of them.

Disregarding all the bad press going in, as I am a fan of Star Wars and the fact that they dropped the microtransactions and made it easier to earn in game items. I would say it is an improvement in all ways over the previous installment. The campaign isnt perfect but its fun and beautiful. This is especially true if you play on a 4k hdr enabled tv with an xbox one x. The multiplayer is fun, fast and fluid and again beautiful. The game does suffer some collision effects but I am certain that they will be patched. No game breaking issues so far. All in all a fun addition to the star wars universe.

I won't get into the controversial stuff surrounding this game. I will say this game is beautiful. The single player aspect of this game is rather short and pretty easy. The story line is interesting and fans of the Star Wars universe will find it enjoyable. The multi-player portion is fun to play at the moment. This game could have been great if it was not for EA's greedy practices which have only been temporarily disabled. With that said, I cannot recommend this game to anyone.
