    Perhaps for younger audience

It really is a shame that this series was not released on Blu-ray format because it definitely would look better (compared to a DVD release.) Let's talk about the show – I have never seen this because I don't have live TV nor cable. I have heard about it but it wasn't enticing me to subscribe to anything that had it on streaming (I do have Netflix), so when this came out and was on sale at Best Buy, I had to get it. I love anything related to Star Wars. Yes even the original show/movies that drove a lot of people crazy with silly characters like Jar Jar Binks (OMG!). The main character of this show is practically a teenager, and an immature one at that. He makes his everyday decision on a whim and they impulsively come back to bite him. In. Every. Episode. I have seen four episodes are ready and while his character is more or less a likable young man, if he were my son or nephew, I would definitely have a stern talking to him – about his futures, etc. I realize this is not real life but I want to be entertained, not getting frustrated by more or less a brat. It is almost to where he gets silly – but not as close to something like SpongeBob SquarePants. (Thank goodness for that because I would have returned it.) So be prepared, if you have not seen it, and you can handle an immature teenage boy character, it is actually rather fun to watch. It should've come out on a Blu-ray, but it isn't good enough for me to upgrade to one when that happens.

Was surprised it wasn't released on blu ray, but there was no way I could pass on this. Pretty cool show. Definitely gets better as the episodes go on. It's no Clone Wars, but still pretty good!

    Become a kid again

This show, unfortunately, got a lot of criticism from Star Wars "fans" (what doesn't?) but I think many of those criticisms were unfair. Star Wars: Resistance really takes me back to my childhood, which is good because the best way to watch this show is to view it as though you're still a kid. Don't go into it expecting heavy lore and don't go in with a critical mindset; instead, go into it wanting fun, adventure and just classic Star Wars goodness. Resistance tells the story of a young New Republic X-wing pilot, named Kazuda Xiono ("Kaz" for short), who ends up being recruited for a secret mission by the Resistance: he must blend in with the denizens of the "Colossus", an ocean platform that houses all sorts of people but is particularly the home for pilots who like to race. Despite his piloting skills, Kaz is an absolute klutz. He's good-natured but can't seem to do anything without screwing up somehow. While this would get annoying, again, if you view it as though you were a kid again, it's actually kinda comical. He is supported by his friends, including Torra Doza, daughter of the Colossus' captain, Imanuel Doza, as well as the extremely annoying (worse than Jar Jar) Nikto, Neeku Vozo, and the more complex mechanic named Tamara Ryvora. He is mentored by former pilot, Jarek Yeager. Altogether, they form Team Fireball, which is the name of their racing team. What I particularly like about this series is that it doesn't try to go crazy with the action. Instead, we get to see the more mundane side of life in the Star Wars galaxy. However, because of the setup and Kaz' secret mission, we still do get a lot of fun, as well as some classic Star Wars swashbuckling. As a lifetime fan of this series who loves the lore and wishes he could live in the Star Wars galaxy (if only for a temporary time), seeing a more "daily life" approach is very enjoyable. Add to this some cameos from characters in the sequel trilogy, as well as the way that the overall story ties in with the story of the sequels, and you get a show that is quite a bit of fun... if it's view with the right lens. Don't go in expecting epic lore drops or masterful writing like The Clone Wars and Rebels. Go into this show as though you were a kid again, first delving into the galaxy far, far away. Plus, this particular DVD set is very solid. Not only do you get the entire first season on DVD, but you get plenty of behind-the-scenes material as well, plus a nice slipcase (which surprised me). I'm always an advocate for buying physical copies of media whenever possible and this is no exception. Altogether, I definitely recommend this for young Star Wars fans, as well as adult fans who can remember the magic behind why many of us fell in love with the series in the first place. It has its ups and downs, it's certainly not perfect, but it's absolutely worth checking out. My only major issue is that, for whatever reason, Lucasfilm didn't ever release a DVD set of the second season. Season 2 is leaps and bound beyond what the first season gave us, yet the only real option to view it is to subscribe to Disney+ (boo to streaming). But I digress... ... this is absolutely worth the purchase!

I've enjoyed the first season so far, excited to see where it goes from here. I wish there would have also been a blu ray release, but this is better than no physical release at all.

Well, this is another in a long list of spinoffs from the Star Wars universe. I've only watched a few, but to me its a mixed bag. Mainly because I don't like the cel-ish style this series is using. It looks pale in comparison to the 3D style of previous entries. Also, too much emphasis on humor to me as well. It's okay to have humor, but I think the show is belaboring it.

I love Star Wars, the movies, Clone Wars, even Rebels, but this show drove me crazy. It's aimed at really young kids and the characters are rather annoying. Most of the extras are really short epk type interviews. I would only recommend this is you're a completist as far as collections go.

The show is amazing. Geared more for kids, but adults can enjoy it as well. I wish Disney released a Blu-Ray copy, but this will do well

It may not be clone wars or rebels, but it’s still Star Wars and a fun filler. Love the animation style. A little disappointed Disney only released this on dvd and not blu-Ray...

As a Star Wars completist, this was an easy purchase (although I didn't even know it was coming out until I saw it on the shelf in-store). Not as good as Clone Wars or Rebels but it has its moments. Too bad its DVD only and not at least on blu.
