This movie was great. It had the old school feeling of the original trilogy, the return of beloved characters (Chewbacca!!!), interesting new characters, and amazing effects. Any true fan will enjoy this movie. I can't wait to see what Episodes 8 & 9 will have in store for us, as many questions were left unanswered. But truly a good movie. I should deduct a half of point because Disney chose to not release this in 3D just yet. They are waiting for a re-release to milk it and make more money. That's not the movie's fault, though, but the greediness of Hollywood.

Star Wars #7 is many things to many people. In 1976 I stood in hour long lines to watch the first one. It was something that was new, fresh, fun, and in an age of R rated movies - something the whole family could experience together.
This reboot by JJ Abrams heralds back to those times with a good story, good action, and a script that far exceeds those of #s 1-3.
I was left wanting more of the same and am looking forward to the next installments. Thanks to Mr Abrams, Star Wars has matured into something more than the Saturday afternoon serial that Lukas had imagined.

Didnt get to watch this in the theater, I prefer to just ignore whats coming out now, go to bestbuy every so often, and buy what I think is good and I missed when its on sale. For half the price of two tickets, I now own the movie to enjoy over and over. This is a must for every fan, the blu ray had some great behind the scenes, and I watch this every few months. Im glad the series is back under new management as I like the new look, darker story lines, and professional acting. Star wars how it should have been- dark, gritty, real.

The storyline here is pretty good, and the movie overall is great, even though a lot of that is due to my love of the original trilogy and the way that it played into this movie. Daisy Ridley is a fantastic female lead. I am someone who is tired of seeing females in roles that feel forced just to meet the 'we have to have a female!' rule. She did not feel forced, and I'm looking forward to seeing her in the next movie. I'm not a huge fan of the Finn character - his one-liners made him feel like a character from the Avengers. Despite that, I think this is a great movie.

This movie was met with mixed reviews, but for a true fan it was amazing to meet back up with our old friends from the original trilogy. JJ Abrams worked his motion picture magic and set the ground work for movies to come at us with no fear of cartoonish storylines. This is the start of Disney's idea to bring out on going storylines from the Star Wars universe yearly. This is so cool. Every fan should watch this movie, pick out what you like, shelve the stuff you dislike, and then get ready for what seems like many years of awesome adventure. Cant wait and so excited.

I really enjoyed this one, finally everyone looks as old as I feel.
The visuals effects are exceptional, the story line moves forward and brings the other
(347) Star Wars episodes into line. ;o)
We haven't seen this many episodes since "Rocky conquers the Universe".
OK, Just kidding about Rocky.
But, I had the "steelbook" edition (and my daughter stole it). So it works.
This movie takes you to a really good place to hide for a few hours.
Enjoy it by yourself or with someone who will tolerate you.
Keep your light sabre handy for "Attack of the Grand Kids".

By this point everyone has their own opinion of TFW, and honestly I'm on the side of fullfiled. Taking into consideration that the last SW movies where Luca's prequels giving any SW enough hours of debate, the new movie needed to give new audience a grinded summary of the original saga and thus why we have sooooo many nostalgic moments from the first SW movie (episode IV). Now the movie is filled with tons of intensional or accidental cameos, hints, that are just entertaining to watch (specially the voices of former Jedi's flowing within the force *wink*).
Now the packaging is just gorgeous, will definite stand out from the rest of the movies in your personal rack. My only concern is that I hope it doesn't rust with time like older collections I have owned in steal packaging. Besides the box been in steel there really isn't anything else in the box. It has the usual blueray, dvd and digital copy. Doesn't get the 5 stars simply because a little something extra in the box would of been nice, like a sticker, a patch or a small poster.

After all the hype leading up to it, The Force Awakens could easily have been a disappointment. Instead, it takes its place with the original trilogy. It isn't a perfect film and it does seem to be at least a semi rehash of A New Hope but it just looks and feels like Star Wars. Gone is the CGI fest that was the prequel trilogy, replaced by practical effects whenever possible. Also, the characters, both new and old, are interesting and the chemistry is great. Whether you're a hardcore Star Wars fan or a newcomer to the series, TFA will give you your money's worth.

I saw this movie is IMAX it was really great. To return back to Starbucks Wars universe. To see the oringal chacters wrinkles and all. It was like returning to family. The new tye fighters look more sinster and cleaner probably CNG makes look better. I liked the new light Saber. The Kyle Ren chacters was great to tie things together without Darth Vader although the Vader will return in Rogue and have very several suits of body armor. He will take his place back as the greatest Jedi warrior and receve more Jedi training on how I cannot wait till December.

Yes, there are many nods to the classic trilogy (especially the original Star Wars, renamed "A New Hope" in later years)...
However, I was really engaged with the characters this time, as opposed to my experience with the fake "green screen" look of George Lucas' prequel video games. er,..um-- I mean "prequel movies"! ha!
And the real world sets and practical effects (even ones augmented with CG) just work to help me as a viewer to connect with the story unfolding before me.
Now I am really looking forward to the remaining Skywalker trilogy films!

I enjoyed this movie in the theaters except for the death of my childhood hero. It has the same feel as the original 3 Star Wars movies. Yes, it very similar to the original Star Wars (A New Hope) so some fans may not like that but overall it is a good springboard into the next movies.
The picture quality and sound quality are fantastic and I do not have a 4K TV just Blue Ray and a Panasonic Plasma. I do have a 7.1 surround sound system and the sound quality is amazing. Die hard fans will love it as long as they can get past the resemblance to the first movie.

Basically this is a reboot of episode IV, A New Hope. It has a similar storyline, but with a more diverse universe as we follow a woman, Rey, as the lead, a new Droid BB8, and an African American actor playing Finn, a runaway Stormtrooper who goes to the other side. BB8 has a map to the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker. Together they search for him while encountering Princess Leia, Hans Solo & Chewbacca, and being pursued by a new villain Kylo Ren. The Blu Ray looks great and there are a lot of special features make this an entire afternoon or evening viewing.

Being the fanboy I am, I was very excited to hear a new story was coming to the Star Wars Galaxy. To hear that JJ Abrams was going to be at the helm helped calm my apprehension at having Disney involved. I was pleased to see that they are starting this up for a new generation and feel the story line is just the start it needed. Familiar faces, memorable punch lines from the prior movies and no Jar Jar Binks made this a wonderful flash to the past and the future. The steelbook is also a nice touch. Add this one to the collection and forget about the prequels.

This movie is worth watching for the cinematography and technical wizardry, and for Daisy Ridley as Rey. The story is terribly contrived, and is essentially a remake of the original with Rey taking Luke Skywalker's role, Han Solo becomes Ben Kenobi. Poe Dameron and Finn loosely fill the Han Solo and Princess Leia characters. And yes, there is a new Death Star. It's not called a Death Star, but it is basically a bigger, but less scary Death Star. I say it's less scary, because it is even less believable than the completely ridiculous original concept of the Death Stars from the original series. I can't help but wonder what they are going to do for Episode IX. Will there be an even bigger, and more ridiculous Death Star then Starkiller Base from TFA? One Death Star was amazingly cool. Two Death Stars was stretching it a bit. Three Death Stars is just going way too far. Four Death Stars and you would wonder why this New Order has gotten as far as it has if it can't learn from it's mistakes.
