John Williams Scores (Big)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All things being equal, you have to miss the striking 20th Century Fox opening this time around. It has become as much a part of the Star Wars soundtrack experience as, say, humming along to the Falcon vs. TIE Fighter battle music from A New Hope, or air drumming the orchestra hit of the opening bars of the Throne Room sequence. That said, this soundtrack stands proudly amongst the titans, presenting the intuition and appreciation of a man that has been as much a part of Star Wars as anyone. John Williams understands Star Wars, he understands us, and, most importantly, he approaches this Episode with love, respect and experience. Rather than squeezing in nods and winks to past trilogies, he expands and carefully shapes old and new themes to fill the greater context of the evolving story. Rather than playing upon nostalgia, Williams sets his eyes on the big picture with a scope of understanding far greater than anyone else involved in the Star Wars universe. This soundtrack is not fan service - it is the work of a master of the language, setting out to illuminate a world for which he cares deeply. And what a beautiful language it is.

Great soundtrack
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed this soundtrack. It seems to be complete, except for the recycled piece from Episode IV (when Luke finds Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru murdered by stormtroopers) that plays when Rey snatches the lightsaber from Ren via the force. The packaging is nice (high gloss) and a multi-page insert includes notes from J.J. Abrams and stills from the movie. Love it!

Superb!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the latest Star Wars soundtrack several weeks before seeing the new movie. The John Williams score is so packed with emotion. I cannot imagine the Star Wars Universe without this great orchestration. The music brings all the joy from the first movie then sends you on another grand adventure. I've seen the movie and still enjoy my CD.

It's Star Wars... Do I really need to say anything
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This newest album is another John Williams home run. If you like the movie get the album, just closing your eyes with a good set of headphones will take you back to your childhood and help you conjure up dreams of wielding a light saber. Who wouldn't want ride along with Han and Chewie in the Millennium Falcon!

John Williams does it again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.John Williams is back in the arena that made him a super star among film composers. I feel this is better than any of his prequel trilogy scores, though there are some great tracks in those as well. But as an overall whole, this is a fantastic score bringing us back to that galaxy far, far away.

great musical score!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this star wars sound track on line at the best buy web site. It was easy to place the order and schedule to receive it as a store pick up. I went to the store and requested pick up at the service desk. The process was good and I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes.

A Solid Star Wars Soundtrack
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once again, John Williams produces a solid Star Wars soundtrack. While I do not think that this is one of the best Star Wars soundtracks, there are moments of greatness. Rey's Theme is an instant classic. The more I listen to the soundtrack (and see the movie), the more I fall in love with it. I feel that it can solidly stand next to the other six episodes, all of which have wonderful scores.

Good, but not great Williams Star Wars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoyable and repeatable listen to be certain, but there aren't really any standout pieces like the other Star Wars scores. Most memorable pieces recalled the earlier movies. Also, I felt like in some places it harkened back more to Williams' scores for the Indiana Jones movies more than the Star Wars ones, though that not necessarily a bad thing as those were all very strong scores. :)

A subtle entry into the Star Wars pantheon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Though less flashy than previous installments in the franchise, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack is an understated, nostalgic throwback to the music that made John Williams' original scores so beloved. While there is no iconic theme like the "Imperial March" or even "Across the Stars" here, highlights include "Rey's Theme" and "March of the Resistance." Solid.

Decent presentation, the music speaks for itself!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing super fancy about the presentation here, but it does have a nice insert with additional information. The music, as always, is amazing and everything sounds good on this recording. Very happy I purchased the actual disc!

Star Wars Music
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Though maybe not as memorable as the original themes, the soundtrack to Episode VII is still solid. The themes echo the originals. Glad to see John Williams is still interested in scoring these as I can't imagine anyone else.

OST Soundtracks are AMAZING
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The entire album is amazing. When I saw this in theaters, the song that stuck to me was Rey's theme. But John Williams always composes the best music for Star Wars and buying this album was not a regret at all.

Recording first-rate; great listen with earphones.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They did a good job mastering this CD per the first listen. Then, I listened to it a second time per JJ's recommendation in the liner notes with a good set of Cans. Wow!; it even sounded better. Thanks JJ.

Love Star Wars?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you love Star Wars you undoubtedly love the music. While some may say this doesn't live up to the original soundtrack, I'd say they just didn't listen enough. I love it, particularly Rey's theme.

Great Soundtrack
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was one of the few who waited a few days after the release to watch the new Star Wars movie. I purchase the soundtrack before watching the movie, and after listening I couldn't wait to watch it.

Great soundtrack from the newest Star Wars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This soundtrack follows true to the sound and ambiance that was previously found in the older movies. John Williams proves yet again that he is a god when it comes to composing.
