Customers recognize the compelling storyline as a major highlight, frequently praising its immersive and engaging nature. However, many feel the game is too short, criticizing repetitive missions and a lack of enemy variety. Positive feedback also mentions the intuitive controls, impressive visuals, and enjoyable music. While some appreciated the physics engine, others found the limited force powers to be a drawback.

Not Quite What I Was Hoping For

The Force Unleashed started out strong. The first level is played as Darth Vader, who has strong force powers right off the bat. The environment of the first level is very destroyable, and the AI seems to know what it's doing. This is not the case on later levels. As the game progresses the destructibility of the levels decreases and eventually fades almost entirely. Once on the second level you take control of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice, who starts off with very weak force powers. The main incentive to play the game then becomes leveling up your force powers so that you can do awesome stuff to the enemies. There are three main kinds of enemies in The Force Unleashed. The weak ones, who can't survive to the end of a lightsaber combo. Then there are the Force resistant or immune, limiting your options and freedom on how to kill them. Lastly there are large enemies that are immune to Push and Grab, but all you have to do to kill them is use lightning until you run out of force power and then you can do a button combo to kill them. The boss fights are either really easy or unduly difficult. Bosses closer to the end of the game feel more like space fillers while the early bosses are the ones you'll be fighting two or more times. The largest fault in The Force Unleashed is the lack of multiplayer of any kind. This game would easily make five stars if a co-op mode were to be added. The only thing better than throwing Jawas into the stratosphere with Force Grab is doing it with your friends. The main reason this game gets four stars from me is the ability to play the game a second time with your force powers unlocked. If you're lazy you can cheat to unlock everything on the first play through. Either way, you can then unleash Force powered destruction on the world.

    The Force Supressed

Do not be fulled by the amazing physics engine, Euphoria, that this game runs on. Seeing stormtroopers try and grab onto things while they are being hurled through the air is only fun for the first 10 minutes or so. This game suffers from lack of varied enemies, a so-so story, and a VERY short playthrough. Force Powers, while cool for a while, are limited and can get old fast. Every time you force push an enemy off a cliff, he falls the same. Every time you force lightning someone, it looks the same. Everything is the same. The boss battles are stupidly easy, and are brought down even further with the cheesy 'button mash action sequences'. In closing, its worth renting...because thats all it will take to be done with the game. Save thirty bucks, just go rent it.

Moving, intense story that will excite fans and nonfans alike. Beautiful art design dripping with flair. Powerful physics engine lets you execute all sorts of awesome-looking moves. You can punt a Jawa. Frustrating, imprecise targeting. Several gameplay sequences are simply awful. Way to short. All in All, it is just a good average game.

Best Star Wars game for 360

This game is a must-have for any Star Wars fan. The game is excellent, the plot is truly enthralling, and it is just fun. The only negative is that the end comes too quickly. If it were not for some really tediously difficult boss battles, it would have been really short. That said, the battles with the jedi/sith are really good and playing it through on different challenge-levels and to find different hidden stuff is well-worth the wait. STRONGLY recommend it for a fan and is still a really fun game for anyone.

Star Wars fans will find plenty to admire and enjoy here. The Force Unleashed features one of the most compelling stories you may ever find in a SW video game. TFU also features some thrilling moments that will make any Star Wars fan squeal with joy. TFU has some technical and gameplay problems that really hurt the game. Including times when the camera seems to want to work against you, the targeting system is frustrating. Still though, the game looks gr8, the music is amazing, and the art design is simply spectacular. All in all, SWTFU isn't a masterpiece, but the game delivers the goods that Star Wars fans will be looking for.

This is a good game. My biggest complaint would be that it is a button mashing type game. You are able to do some really cool things with all of the powers you have but most of the time you will be running around pushing 1 button because of how many enemies are attacking you at one time. The difficulty settings are I think set perfectly. My 3 year old plays it on the easiest and the game removes some of the more challenging things like pressing a certain button that pops up on screen which is just way to hard for him. Overall if you like games that are not to technical and really easy to learn, pick this one up.

Overall the game is awesome and the expanded live content makes it that much better. The graphics are sweeeet!!!! and the gameplay is sweeter. The storyline is very compelling and will fully immerse you. However the only drawback with this game is the length. It would have been a supreme game instead of a great game had it been longer. But again if you are a true Star Wars fan you will definitly want to add this to your collection immedialty.

Good Game For One Sit Down

From the beginning of star wars, up till now, it has always had a huge fan base. I would recommend this game to anyone that loves and enjoys Star Wars. Non Star Wars fans should look otherwise though. The mechanics of this game are at first amazing, but become dull. The story holds you, but does it softly. The game is fun and exciting up to the very end but the end is right around the next corner. I found this game to be one of the best star wars action games I have ever played in a long time. But to be honest, it doesn't cut it close to being a great game. One, it lacks a great story telling atmosphere. Two, it lacks on adventure and exploration qualities. And three, which in my opinion was the worse part of this game, it isn't long at all. Good for a fan, bad for a noobie. All in all, this game is fun, but it doesn't hold as long as it could have.

Im not a huge fan of starwars but i got this game just because it looked cool, and honestly it was. You get to fight Rancors, throw tie fighters at people, carry a black lightsaber, bring down a whole starship! Some concerns are that i beat it in about 8 hours so yes it is short. I loved the story i wont give away details but it was cool. Honestly its a good game....to rent.

    Lucas Arts Droped The Ball

    Posted .

I was pretty excited to get this game. I thought it would follow in the Lucas Arts standard in high quality Star Wars games. It has been in development for +4 years and there has been a lot of hype and excitement about the game. Loaded it up and wasn't captured by it immediately. The physics engine was neat (splintering trees) and force powers you would expect Vader to have. After playing a few levels I had a good feel for how the game was going however was disappointed in the story. So when I finished the game and replayed it second time for alternate ending I was very jaded with it. Lucas Arts failed horribly to execute what could have been a promising game. The first disappointment (and biggest) was the story line. It was not very exciting or engaging and I was left feeling I accomplished nothing but watched a third rate rip off stars novel made into game. I also thought the game would be more dynamic, the only part of the story based on your actions was the final ending. Everything else was the same no matter how you played story line wise. I was expecting a lot more to be included about how you behaved and had the story evolve around your dark and light choices. That aside the game was the most buggy console game I have every played. Both times I played through my objectives got bugged and from about half way through to the end the optional objectives would not track my accomplishments. The optional mission object would appear as Default* or Nil and the force cubes and points would not increment. The research I have done about this shows its fairly common on the X Box and Plantation version of the game. This strikes me as totally unacceptable in a console game where you can not blame a systems configuration. The other large bug actually affects game play. The engine does a poor job letting players land where it will let them. For example if you land on a plant near a wall your character will appear to be floating unable to move and takes a few seconds of wiggling sticks to break free. This applies to just about any surface near a wall if the surface or wall are slanted. There are also area's where you can get stuck between plants or other objects unable to escape. I even had it have me side down a wall into a pit which was meant to be auto death but did not kill me. Some very interesting clipping errors down there and a game load later was able to move on. This game is pretty and had promise however it was probably the most disappointing Star Wars game I have ever played. Maybe Lucas Arts has lost their touch?

    Don't Turn To The Darkside

This is one of those games that's a hit or miss.Because the gameplay is really not all that tight. Some of the camera angles seem off center, and why is there long load times when you go into menus? And the boss fights they really don't put that much work into. But the graphics are good to look at.And the story is a little enjoyable, but that doesn't always make for a good game.Maybe if they spent more time with controls, boss fights, and camera instead of the things listed above they would have made for a much better game in the end.

Me and my friend bought this game when it came out because we thought it would be good but turns out it wasnt that good at all! The story is cool since ur darth vaders apprentice and thats sweet. But they could have done so much more with the game. It just seems like its over way to fast and it seems that the developers were bragging about nothing even though they had 1 hour specials on the G4. I think the music was good though overall but the game just felt to clunky and didnt respond the way that it should

Good Game But Has Some Bugs

Overall, I felt this was a great game. It held my attention but as other posters have stated, the game felt short. There is an expansion pack, with one additional level, available on the xbox marketplace but it's going to cost 800 microsoft points or an additional 10 bucks. The one downside to this is that you have to start a new game to access the download content (dlc). As you play throughthe game, you feel bonded with the character and I couldn't wait to see what happens next. I do wish there was more to explore throughout the game as in most cases it felt linear. To play this game, you may have to exercise patience as some areas and boses can give you quite a challenge until you figure them out. Camera angles can also prove to be a challenge especially when trying to locate the collectable holocrons throughout the game. I found myself playing this game on different difficulties which made me appreciate the game even more as i attempted to unlock more achievements.

This is a great game for a Star Wars fan. You get to use all of the traditional force moves throughout the game and see some familiar and some new locales. If you are not a star wars fan, you will more than likely not be content with this purchase. It just doesnt stand up to games like ninja gaiden, or even 1st person shooters like Call of Duty or Halo who far outclass this game. If you are a star wars fan, you will be pleasantly surprised with the graphics, and variety of moves and combos that take advantage of the software engine, and the HD graphics. Over all I would say it is a good game, not great. If you are not a huge star wars fan, do not purchase this game, purchase COD 5 in november, or Gears of War 2

Well, I thought the game was a little short but that wasn't my concern. I think the story line is not that great and the cut scenes are awkward sometimes. You walk to some part of the game and out of the blue they show up. It's not like they make you feel you accomplished something and give you a clue of what is about to happen. That and the reloads also happening in the middle of a door opening and you walking a few steps and boom! The reload screen shows up. After a while becomes repetitive. I know when the #2 comes out, a lot of the little quirks will be ironed out and it will be a much more immersible game.

Overall the Force Unleashed is a good game but it has enough drawbacks to it to make it frustrating to play. The story for the game is good and does help give some info on what happens between the third and forth movie. I actually liked the characters and felt for them even tho it was a short game. My biggest dissapointment with the game comes from the things that could have been fixed or at least changed. The enemy AI either ranges from sever stupidity when you stand right in front of them and they just stand around to downright cheap when they suddenly can hit you from across the room. The graphics do glitch a fair bit in the game and did occasionaly cause me to fall off or die because of it. My biggest complaint is the targeting system. Unless i was actively trying to target something it would always seem to target the most random things. In the second to the last boss fight in the game i died four times simply because it wouldn't target the boss character. I was standing facing the character and it was still targeting random things on the side of the screen. The camera angles also cause problems when your in the middle of a fight and it suddenly swings around behind something that doesn't go invisible so you can see what your doing. I died a few times from that as well. Hopefully a patch will come out to fix some of this stuff but until then I would say it's a renter. Fun overall but not worth the full price.

The Force Unleashed-Give me KOTOR or give me death

Being a convention attending Star Wars fan, I consider myself to be pretty devoted. Like so many others, I have been awaiting the release of this game since it was announced. I have to say that I am sorely disappointed with the Force Unleashed. Despite stellar graphics and an overall great concept, this Star Wars game plays just about the same as the original Xbox Episode III game. While the storyline is intriguing, the game play doesn't hold up to any next gen hits. The combination button moves translate into nothing more than mindless button mashing, the camera angles are often frustrating, and the environments are slightly more interactive than the Wii Baseball field. The worst parts are the boss battles which remind me of early edition Mega Man death matches. At least with Mega Man, we were always assured there would be a new and improved sequel. (I'm talking about original Nintendo in case you’re wondering) Trust me when I say RENTAL!!! P.S. Can people please stop rating games before they even play them!?!

We got this game a few weeks back. I saw it at a local game store and people where playing it and it looked cool. THe graphics are top dog and the gameplay is pretty easy to handle with the controls. It just takes some practice to learn how to do all the force powers correctly but you can pick it up pretty quick in the first few levels. My son loves to play it because its Star Wars plus its pretty killer. Its fun tossing some storm troopers around and being able to break and damage so many things is fun too.

This is a really fun game. I personallly am not a really huge star wars fan. so I was sort of hesitant on getting this one. this is a fun game but can get repititve and boring. But there really hasn't been alot of good star wars games out so this one caught my eye. basically if you like star wars you'll like this game. if you don't you still might like it. It's fun just to throw people around using force powers. so anyways if your interested in getting this game, get it because it's fun and worth the money.
