Is the best Star Wars, Nooo. But its still a great time either way. I agree that “The Last Jedi” severely handicapped the trilogy, they came up with something in a hurry to tie loose ends. 4K picture and sound quality was outstanding!

Pros: If you like sharpness with a touch grain, blinding highlights while maintaining shadow details, Star Wars Rise of Sky Walker is a great showcase title for your new 4K set. The Dolby Atmos track is active with good speaker separation, the desert speed runner and ending battle are good example of Atmos effects. Dialog was ok, a bit soft sounding to my ears. Cons: Alright the movie is enjoyable but it has plot holes, main characters from Force Awakens taking a backseat to the worst kept secret about a character origins. A new character is introduced late in the movie and she trust Fen to go on a suicide mission. Fen's previous crush only has few scenes just to show she's still alive after having such a major part of the 2nd movie. The dude from Lost had more lines who came out of nowhere. Lastly the true main bad guy taking the life force of Ray and the other bad guy to regenerate himself was done sloppy and didn't make sense. Alright, I recommend this movie, but Force Awaken, and Rogue 1 are better movies.

Upon receiving the 4K Blu-ray, we were excited to view the film on our newly purchased 4K TV. We weren’t disappointed at all in the quality and vibrancy of the picture. All the extras confirmed this purchase was a great investment!

Overall very good movie for the family. Great visuals throughout the movie and exciting action scenes. 4K picture and high quality audio (on a stereo) makes the movie better to watch than standard picture and sound.

While somewhat of a disappointment, this is still a Star Wars movie so it definitely has its moments. The quality of this 4K is exceptional with a beautiful range of colors and awesome Atmosphere sound (but it does need to be turned up in volume a bit to get the full effect).

Movie had lots of action and excitement, a few surprises too. I saw it first in theatre and after DVD was finally released was able to view the movie again. Found lots of details I missed on first viewing. Will need to watch it again to answer more questions - there was a lot going on. Lots of bonus items on the additional disc - worth the purchase of the 3-disc package which also comes with a digital code. I had an issue with the 4K disc, about an hour into the feature (chapter 22-23), the image pixellated and audio messed up. But may have been my player as the problem seemed to change on subsequent attempt to play that section of the disc. Did not bother to exchange it at Best Buy as I still have the digital and BD copies to watch it again.

Outstanding in 4K, especially on a large TV with full surround sound! I've watched twice since picking up the UHD disk and I had already seen it on the big screen when it was in the theaters.

I am an avid Star Wars fan, so of course I love the film. My review below is about the physical package; not about the movie. I’ll leave it to the movie critics and movie aficionados to provide the movie review. For the price, this package is great! You get an UHD Blu-Ray, a regular Blu-Ray, and a digital copy. Even if you don’t have a 4K UHD TV, I would recommend getting this package because your next tv will likely be 4K. Having the Blu-Ray is nice for older home theaters/TV setups. If, for some reason you cannot find the physical disc, you always have a digital copy as a backup. Digital copy is easy to register and obtain. All in all, this is a wonderful set for the Rise of Skywalker. Highly recommend!

Good to see the previous characters make appearances in this final Star Wars movie. The special effects were outstanding as usual and so was the sound quality. But it was time to put this saga to rest.

My son and I watched the movie in the theater and so this disc was the first time that the rest of the family watched. Personally, I still had some disappointment in the wrap up of this series that has accompanied most of my life, but there is a lot to like here. Babu Frik was the runaway winner. The favorite of the entire family. I didn't have fond memories of Babu from the theater viewing, but on second watch, Babu stole the show, along with Rey and Kylo's duel with "The Perfect Storm" in the background. We also watched the two hour documentary on the extras disc and found it enjoyable as well. I'll take Episodes VII and VIII over IX, but my journey to the complete collection of movies is now complete. If you're a fan, you've already seen the movie. You know whether or not you want to own it and don't need my review. Be smarter than me, though, and wait for it to be on sale:)

It was an entertaining watch, and the special effects were amazing as always with the Star Wars franchise. But I was a bit disappointed with with the final three films story and plot wise. But for sheer entertainment purposes it's worth watching.

Entertaining finale to the Skywalker saga! Definitely things that could’ve been better but it made up for some failures of Ep. 8 and made for an action packed epic conclusion. 4K on OLED TV will be the best possible viewing experience.

The Rise of Skywalker is a rousing finish to perhaps the most significant movie fan saga in cinema. Beginning in 1977 with A New Hope and spanning nine primary movies and two additional side projects the Skywalker family has inspired incredible fan reaction. The Rise of Skywalker as the final chapter comes with high expectations and for myself, it achieved them in most every way. As a 4K Disc the home delivery is exceptional. Picture quality is sharp and clear and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is active and powerful putting the most sophisticated home systems to the sonic test. If you are a Star Wars fan this disc is a must own for any home movie collection.

The Rise of Skywalker was a lot better than the last one in many ways and was more enjoyable to watch. It has as all Star Wars movies do great action but also love how they used Carrie Fisher footage they had instead of a computer generated one. It was nice to see Lando as well and it moved along pretty well. I watched a lot of the behind the scenes to get a better idea of things and will watch again a little later. I love Star Wars movies and this one is not far behind The Force Awakens that was so nice to have a new adventure in the series. The Rise of Skywalker has a great fun ending that is worth waiting for the whole film.

Real Star Wars fans didn't want the series to end. But, it did. I don't want this to be an actual review of the film, the production crew, and its cast. There are better reviews for you to read. I want this to be a brief homage to the story of the heroes that we came to love and relate to and the SW universe that proceeds from it. I was hooked with the first film when I was a kid and now many, many years in a galaxy far away from all the drama and action I have witnessed the end of an era. The original saga has ended but I'm certain that the stories of heroes battling the evil forces bent on enslaving and destroying humanity will continue. Ray came to life for me in The Last Jedi. She was beautiful and a fighter for good. The Dark Side enticed her in the form of Kylo Ren (Ben, the son of Han Solo) but she resisted. Kylo was obsessed with turning Ray to the Dark Side in TLJ and in TRoS he would stop at nothing to pursue her and make her into his partner to rule the galaxy. Ray faced her own identity demons that seemed to want her to choose the Dark Side while she and the other heroes were battling the forces of the evil empire. When Ray learns who her real parents are she is devastated but she becomes stronger. Her powers increase. Her sense of destiny becomes more vivid. She must face the evil Ren and either defeat him or join him. That choice will keep the audience guessing until the end. The outcome might surprise even the most devout SW fan. Now that Ren's journey has ended and the rebels have moved on to a new destiny, they have indeed inspired a host of young persons to continue their cause and to protect the galaxy with newfound powers and skills made possible with the Force of light and good. There are more stories to tell though. The Mandalorian on Disney Plus is a fine example of a new saga to enjoy. The story is exciting and the plot is well-crafted. It has a baby Yoda-like character that will steal your heart as well. New enemies will arise but new heroes will also rise to face them. Long live the SW universe!

Finally, one of the Disney Star Wars flicks gets a special edition worthy of the franchise. There’s a feature length documentary that provides a terrific look at the process of making the film and some of the amazing unsung artists and crew members who helped bring the movie to fruition. Video and audio presentation are superb for the film itself. I’d have enjoyed a directors commentary but given the decisive reaction to RoS I’m guessing that’s not in the cards. Still, it’s my favorite home release of the Disney trilogy in terms of bonus content. If you’re planning to own this film, you can’t go wrong with this 4K release.

As I said in a previous review, Disney has succeeded where George Lucas failed when he made the prequels- they made Star Wars fun again, as well as relevant. But there’s no pleasing everybody. Remember when some “fans” disliked The Force Awakens? It was because it was “too similar” to A New Hope. And remember when those same “fans” disliked The Last Jedi, because it was too different from Empire Strikes Back? Now those same people are mad AGAIN, because Rise Of Skywalker is too much like Return Of The Jedi! OMG, it’s almost like the movies themselves are not what they dislike, but rather, they have an axe to grind with diversity, perceived political bias (as if George Lucas, noted progressive liberal, didn’t use the prequels to rail against George W. Bush, the Iraq War, and the fascistic leanings of W’s administration), or the fact that the main hero is a female. Make no mistake, Rise Of Skywalker is a blast. Is it perfect? No. Is any Star Wars film perfect? Nope- with the possible exception of Empire- but they are fun. The only expectation I have when seeing a SW film is to be entertained, and ROS delivered. As an aside, let me just say, if you are one of those “fans” who finds himself enraged at these new films, tweeting nasty things at the cast and raging on social media about how your favorite pet fan theory wasn’t addressed, or because there are too many women and people of color in the new films, or that Rey doesn’t smile enough, or that the prequels are, in fact, great movies and the new ones are awful, then I have news for you. Are you ready? You don’t like Star Wars. You’re stuck on films from 40 years ago, and you can’t accept that times have changed. Maybe you prefer a time when your movie heroes all looked like you. Maybe you like the old films because of the nostalgia they fill you with for a time that seems simpler in your memory than it really was. Someone once said, “Let the past die- kill it, if you have to.” Wise words, whatever the source. Maybe you dislike how Disney recycles plot points from the previous films and you just prefer the daring and original ideas behind Star Wars legends books, where they cloned Palpatine and Luke became a Sith Lord until he was redeemed by his son, Ben Skywalker. Oh wait- Star Wars has been recycling plots for decades, almost as if it was inspired by the cyclical myths explained by Joseph Campbell in his book, “The Hero’s Journey.” At any rate, you are now free to move on to another piece of intellectual property to “love”. How about Star Trek? It’s not like Star Trek embraces gender and ethnic diversity while championing a utopian future where everyone is valued equally... oh, wait. Guess you’re outta luck. Anyway, to everyone else- Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is a lot of fun, and a fitting conclusion to the new trilogy and the Skywalker Saga as a whole. I can’t wait to see what in store for the next movie!
