I’m still not a fan of the last two movies but is was better the second time around. The picture is excellent on this disc. The audio was an improvement from the last five or six Disney/Marvel releases. If you run any more than a sound bar you’ve been unhappy for a few years with Disney. The problem the last few years is Atmos effects and subwoofer levels have been horrible and they seem to be recorded about as flat as it gets. No dynamics. This disc was a big improvement. Hopefully Disney’s on the right track again.

This is a must own if your a true Star Wars fan, being able to watch Star Wars especially the finale of the Star Wars Galaxy which began over 40 years ago and to be able to watch in amazing 4k picture quality is just a blessing. I remember seeing A New Hope in 1977 in theatres and yes it was amazing but having the ability to watch it in 4k at home now is awesome and to be able to watch it with family and friends the fun and excitement is just 5 stars if not more. A definite must own for true Star Wars fans of all ages.

The movie is a little fast paced and a bit out there in the story but the picture and sound experience is incredible on this disk.

Great quality 4K disc. I enjoyed the movie as long as I don't think too hard about how it fits with the entire Skywalker series.

The problem with this movie is the same for all Star Wars movies since Disney bought them. They don't have an overall story to tell. MCU had a 10 year 22 movie plan to tell a story - The Infinity Saga. Star Wars didn't have this goal - they just wanted to make a movie. Well, this is a trilogy so why not have story which required 3 movies? I LOVE Star Wars since I watched Episode 4 as a kid. I've read over 75 of the books and its sad such a great property was treated so poorly. The bright spot in the Star Wars universe is MCU people are now getting to play with it and as evidenced by The Mandalorian, they are getting it right.

Not crazy about the movie. I think Disney has watered down the franchise so much it's no longer that special. I DO like the "Rae" character as she is a strong and independent woman, plus she is exceptionally attractive :-). Not crazy about the Kylo Ren character. He's sort of one-dimensional and one can figure out his next move if one tries. After this one I'm not going to eagerly anticipate the release of new Star Wars movies as I have. I will say this, a 4K movie played in a 4K player on a 4K TV is pretty darned awesome. Even my wife, the techo challenged one, loved it.

A decent end to a weird trilogy...

With 3 separate trilogies from 3 different eras of filmmaking, there’s a lot of contrasts to consume. For most, the original trilogy is the benchmark, the prequel trilogy is the worst, and the latest is full of imitations and oppositions throughout. From the beginning, it was always clear that J.J. Abrams would be the director that will repurpose the old nostalgia in hopes of bridging old fans with new - which he did with great success and fault. Then Rian Johnson got full reigns to write and direct the follow-up, and what was to come nobody really expected - he dismantled major plot arcs in attempts to repurpose his nostalgia for the prequel trilogy into something that would bridge old and new fans with the classic as well - which he did with great success and fault. To put the latest trilogy to sleep was originally Colin Trevorrow, until creative differences knocked him off the project, only to replace him with Disney’s original wonder-boy, J.J. Abrams. A move that was originally applauded by most of the fan base. Until the delivery of the final piece, which was clearly a hacked up version of several scripts meant to please literally every fan that exists - an impossibility to do coherently. Which is sad because there’s clearly tones and signs of an incredibly epic finale still in tact, sitting somewhere within the cluttered mess of hot-take scenes. That’s not to say the experience is completely ruined, it just falls incredibly short of its potential - much of which clearly layed within the foundations of Trevorrow’s story. A director I originally didn’t really care to hear from in the Star Wars universe. I’d gladly take him back now. To make matters worse, Abrams methods of nostalgia fall the flattest, coming off as completely forced into this world, not only trying to fix the film that came before, but also create its own films at the same time. And smashing an attempt at two films into a 2.5 hour runtime is exactly what you get here.

Star Wars the rise of skywalker is what it is. I know some people were disappointed with it but going into the movie the true fans have to watch it as if there could be more to it that was left out, which is something that is actually being reconned on The Mandalorian show anyway. So only after the Watching the Mandalorian does the Rise seem a better watch now. The 4K and Atmos sound is the best , I hope they don’t stop making 4K discs.
