The dead walk, temper tantrum millennial, more!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a love it or hate it flick. I really enjoyed it however I acknowledge that it’s an absolutely stupid story. Honestly, it fits in with the other 9 stupid Starwars stories. If you want a beautiful piece of technology demonstration, the film hits all the marks. The 4K is gorgeous. Deep reds, vibrant blues... it’s amazing. I saw the film in the theater and never noticed Palpatine was wearing red. On the 4K disc, it’s a blood red brilliance. Definitely recommend for those who are open minded enough to not hate on Disney for trying to fix the story that Lucas ruined with the nightmare prequels.

The Rise of Skywalker- the final conclusion
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To all Star Wars fans out there this has to be the well anticipated conclusion to the Star Wars story by George Lucas( book number 9 of 9). The story continues and it will conclude . With spectacular special effects and well choreographed light Sabre action scenes this is definitely a must for not just Star Wars fans but for science fiction enthusiasts as well. A must in the Star Wars collection!

Didn't see in theaters, so this is what I got
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having recently bought a 4K TV, we've started buying most new movies as 4K and regular 1080 HD BluRay. We don't have a 4K player yet. The film looked fantastic. The outside sleeve covers the graphics you may have wanted, so if that bothers you, discard the sleeve. Shipping was fast and BB automatically changed my order from "curbside pick-up" to having it mailed. As a result, I got it 3 days before the scheduled home video release. Thank you for the delivery change!

The End of the Saga
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to see this film, since I didn't catch it theaters, but it had the negative weight of The Last Jedi over it. Actually, the movie wasn't that bad. True, things could have been different, but every fan has made their own trilogy a la head Canon. Anyway, the PQ looks amazing. A fine level of grain and clarity. The sound is what to expect from a Star Wars movie. I haven't delved into the features yet, so I can't say anything. If you're a fan of the sequel trilogy, you'll like the conclusion. I thought it was a decent end and a lovely send off for Carrie Fisher.

Good for Sound System Auditions
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have just bookshelf rear speakers, you’re not going to be enjoying this movie as you should. You need towers. No bouncy-house reflective Atmos speakers. That’s a gimmick. Just plain 5.2 or 7.2 surround speakers that are all towers (yes that includes the center speaker) will reward you when properly powered. If your receiver doesn’t weigh at least 55 pounds, you’re also cheating yourself of the necessary power to drive any series of towers. Enjoy!

Good film...mostly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Skywalker saga has ended. I enjoyed this film, in spite of its flaws. If you approach with an open mind, you’ll probably like what you get, but if you’re looking for the perfect ending, this isn’t for you. This film reminds me of a restored classic car. When a restoration is done well, you can get up close to the car and see no flaws. When it’s not done well, it only looks good at a distance. This film falls into the second category. Being this close to the film, it’s flaws are very visible, but as time passes, as distance grows,it’s flaws may be forgotten.

Loved/Hated but watched again
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an 8-yr-old, I saw the original Star Wars (Ep 4) in theaters and was hooked. As a 50-yr-old, I watched this, (Ep 8, is it now?) and was somewhat disappointed. Spoiler alert* The only way to reach the Sith home planet is with a trinket? Reminiscent of the only way to find Luke is with a missing piece of galaxy map - instead of Leia using the Force or narrowing the search to that one small area that's missing or at least two other ways. How many Star Destroyers could they possibly build and, seriously? they don't know which way is up so a beacon on the ground guides them? Just aim opposite of the planet, right? Leia, a Jedi, trains Rey, and somehow Ren and Rey can teleport to wherever the other one is and even transfer items, but they still have to fly around to other planets to get to other people. Hmm. Every Sith that came before and every Jedi that came before all bunched up into two people for the epic ultimate battle for dominance. Ugh. Same tricks with the lightsabers and deception, but now Ren can suddenly bring Rey back to life although now Rey can't save Ren cuz he's all forcey disappearing. Alot of things were just too easy - like the hundred thousand "people" ships that suddenly appeared behind Lando at the exact best second. Yeah, I get it. Sensationalism. Han did it when he blasted Vader, "You're all clear, kid!" and many other examples. But, this movie just had too many things that were "too easy" - like navigating 300-ft waves in a canoe and organizing a "landing party" with space horses instead of speeders. Why did I give it 4 stars? It was visually exceptional and seemed to tie up all the loose ends. Everyone's dead except Lando and Chewy, Rey is back at Luke's home on Tatooine, C3P0 and R2 are wherever droids go, and now we just wait til someone figures out a way for Rey to have a brother who finds a piece of Ren's old mask . . . . I've watched this movie three times and it's not bad - just would have liked it to have been done in two films instead of rushing so much and packing it all so tightly and neatly into one.

Phenomenal quality and array of features
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Say what you will about the movie itself, but the picture and audio quality on this 4k are superb. In addition, there's a load of special features, including a retrospective on the Skywalker Saga itself. The packaging of this specific version is fantastic as well, especially the Kylo Ren artwork on the back. I wasn't aware there was additional art on the back until my copy arrived. This 4k will make a fine addition to my collection.

Contrary to most, I approve.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know that, unfortunately, most fans have been unsatisfied with the last three installments of the franchise, but I am definitely one of the few that have enjoyed them all. I feel like the writers and directors of the three films did their best with delivering a saga-ending trilogy that suffered from the immense scrutiny of a hardcore fan base that spans multiple generations. To be under that kind of pressure and still produce these incredible films is a pretty monumental feat. Regarding The Rise of Skywalker specifically, I enjoyed it the most out of the last three films. It moved forward at a pace that was quick but didn't feel rushed and still had a nice touch of character nostalgia that has been carried through the trilogy. The right amount of comedy was worked in between the action and drama which created a nice balance throughout the movie. It was exciting to see a new location in the form of the sith planet Exegol, which made for a nice ending battle setting on all fronts. I have to admit however, I was hoping for a little more power development for Rey in the end but overall I was still satisfied. I definitely plan to re-watch the trilogy and take it all in as one and honestly, I feel like doing that would help the more critical fans see the whole thing in a better light. I think if you get rid of all the unrealistic expectations for the films and re-watch them, you can truly enjoy them for their entertainment value. And of course, I have to comment on the steelbook design. Out of the three films, I definitely think it has the best artwork. If only the other two could have been as good.
