The original DVD releases for each of the prequel trilogy episodes are of pretty high quality in themselves. But here, on Blu-Ray, the quality, picture and sound are just outstandingly amazing. There is no "digital noise" to be seen here, a problem which really bugged me with there previous releases: especially in the first episode, which had the most room for improvement regarding its quality. And even the third episode, which is of the highest quality standards, makes the original releases look like nothing. Allot of the color and hazing problems of the first two episodes #the third one didn't' need any fixing up in this area# have been fixed and updated and now look more vibrant and sharp than ever. Also, several CG mistakes have been fixed, such as the two-headed pod race announcer's hand going striate through his jacket. And several cool deleted scenes have been re-inserted, such as each of the pod racers from episode 1 being introduced by the announcer to the crowed. Other updates include several of the really puppet-looking aliens #like the terrible, cross eyed stone-faced puppet of Yoda# have been replaced by CG versions of them that look just awesome. And the sound quality...in one word, AMAZING! The sound has been balanced quite well, so that you won't need to be constantly turning up the volume significantly at the scenes with more dialogue and turning the volume down drastically at the really intense action scenes. And the sound effects have been greatly enhanced and are just so amazing that it's nearly mind boggling. Especially in the 2nd episode, which has, by far, the great sound effects of the whole saga. This film really deserves the highest honors on it's sound.

Well, can we blame George since he sold to Disney. Being a Star Wars collector for over 33 years we veterans know how many times he released the first 3 films on video tape & laser disc. He held off for a while releasing to DVD then when he did you had to watch out. Over and over again released. It took to 2011 to get the films on blu ray. The nine disc set then the 2 blu ray sets of the 2 sets of films. Now, here we are. Release AGAIN on blu ray but the difference DVD's included because we veterans do NOT have the films enough on DVD. No special extras on this set. If you are a collector, like me, you will purchase this set. Otherwise, you can get better blu ray & DVD sets of the films than this one. Rating for films NOT the package.

I already owned the Star Wars DVD trilogy episodes 1-3 with all the extras but wanted to upgrade to Blu-ray. If you already own the trilogy with DVD extras and want to upgrade this package provides 3 high quality Blu-ray discs and excellent playback I could really see the difference. The package also contains 3 DVD versions of the same titles I have no use for but got a good holiday price on the package so didn't mind.

This is great definitely a must have for any star wars fan not only do you get all 3 of the first films on Blu-ray but you also get them on dvd which is freakin awesome I also bought the 6 different steelbooks with this I would highly recommend this to everybody its not a bad price either for 6 discs.

Looking back at these movies, they seem to hold up pretty well. Episode 3 ties everything together pretty well and offers a nice transition into A new hope. Attack of the clones (Ep 2) is unfairly maligned at times by fans and critics alike but all in all it is not a bad film. Episode two shows the beginnings of Anakin's descent towards the dark side of the force and the movie is important for that reason. Episode 1 is a complete waste of time. Skip it and use that disc as a coaster. The inclusion of this movie in this set is the reason I am subtracting one star.

I think that the "Star Wars" films of the first trilogy are the greatest films of all-time and are also my favorite films of all-time. I also think that these films all have creative, original, exciting and amazing personal/political storylines including a really great and amazing cast as well.

The Star Wars prequel films get better and better as they go through each movie. I liked Phantom Menace pretty well, but it was a little too child-like, at points. Attack of the Clones was better and led to the thrilling climax of Revenge of the Sith, which in my opinion, is the best film of all 6 films.

While the Star Wars prequels don't hold a candle to the original trilogy, they are still fun to watch. The Star Wars prequels are fun, entertaining, and are beautiful to watch on Blu-Ray. I would definitely recommend all of the Star Wars movie to be a part of any Blu-Ray collection.

Replaced my dvd single box movies with this blu-ray box set for better picture quality and space savings on the shelf. Since my daughter watched the movies and loved them, I decided to pass my old ones down to her (and a great excuse to go get the blu-ray versions!)

You get the first three star wars movies on Blu-ray and dvd, NO DIGITAL COPY though. you will see the start of the empire to the empire groining into a galaxy wide empire while the Jedi loose their hope and way. May the force be with you..

I'm not a geek by any means but I still enjoy this trilogy after all these years. it's crazy to think this was made almost 30 years ago and they are still fun to watch with the kids.

This was a good deal for the collection of episodes I Ii and Iii. All on BluRay. Great visual effects and sound. Movies of course are not as good as the origami episodes IV V and VI.

Everyone raves about the sequels compared to the prequels. The first and third movies are the good prequels and he second is decent. Still worth the time as the movies don't drag.

Excellent Movies. could have spent more on the 6 pack of movies. that would have meant getting a bunch of outtakes, deleted scenes, etc., that I'm not going to watch anyway.

I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. This set is the best collection of Star Wars movie i have ever had. I would also purchase another copy as a present.

Was looking for a Bluray version as well as DVD and this appears to be a solution! Haven't received it yet, but can't wait.
