    Old Harvest Moon vibes

A little game that I have spent playing for hours. It really feels like the old harvest moon games where you farm, fish, mine, and battle monsters. Essentially, you take over a farm you have inherited. From there you can make your own journey and focus on whatever aspect of the game you want. There is a little thing in the game that does give you some direction of what you could do, but in reality you could just do whatever you want. very solid game, if this genre of game is something you're in to.

For those who love farming simulations like Harvest Moon, this is one heck of a game created by an indy. But, if you are not the Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing type gamer where actions are repetitive and slow, you should get something else because this will not be your cup of tea.

Great game for someone looking for something other than the standard shooters, rpgs, and sports titles that seem to pop up endlessly in the market. Well built and thoughtfully designed game with a lot to offer including farming, fishing, mining, combat, raising animals and a really nicely done soundtrack. A steal for the $15.99 I got it for with my Gamers Club Unlocked. This is even the second time I have purchased this game, having already put a lot of time into it on my pc through Steam.

So much about this game is fun. It's calm, it has a lot of things to do, and no critical-path. You can just explore, or farm, or fish, or chat with people, or any combination of the bunch. The graphics and sound are great, everything functions really well, and the game's friendly for all ages. If it looks interesting, it's worth getting! There aren't many games of this quality out there, and the price makes it a winner! Looking forward to the multiplayer update! :D

    A Charming, Addictive Indie Title

Stardew Valley has a lot of heart. Graphically, it's a bright, colorful, cute throwback to the 16-bit era JRPG games. The premise is that your character inherits a small shack on a run-down plot of farmland. Your job is to bring it back to its former glory. You start by clearing the debris, then buying seeds, tilling, planting, and watering crops to sell at the market. You can also fish, collect items on the ground to sell, and mine for valuable minerals and ore while facing monsters in randomly-generated dungeon areas. But you only have so much time, health, and energy each day. With experience you can "level up" in each of your skill sets, which increases your stamina, and unlocks new abilities and equipment. As you progress, you can craft new items to make life easier, upgrade your house, and add new buildings and animals to your farm. You can also restore the community center - or sell out to the odious mega-corporation - to repair the town's equipment and make new areas of the town accessible. There is also a "relationship simulator" aspect to the game; you can befriend the townsfolk by talking to them, giving them gifts, and performing fetch quests for them. As your friendship grows, you will be treated to humorous and touching cut scenes. You can even select someone to marry and start a family with, if you choose. This game is really addicting - I found myself staying up late, wanting to play through one more day - then another. Progress comes fairly slowly, which will keep your interest for at least a few in-game years. It's also worth noting that the soundtrack is very nice. Obviously, if you only play gory shooters, this game might not be for you. For everyone else, I highly recommend Stardew Valley - it's absolutely worth twenty dollars!

but the graphics aren't super great but you know that already. You can do virtually anything in the game. Make sure you go to fandom online to get a good guide to navigate through the game. You can get rich growing crops, mine ore, get a wife, befriend town-folk, and do some short quests. Pretty addictive game.

I bought this game for my daughter and she is enjoying it a lot. It's like Terraria but with a story and emphasis on NPC friendship (perhaps like Animal Crossing without the animals and addition of farming and crafting). Although it may appear that it's a slow-paced game, time goes by in 10 minute increments through the 4 seasons and there's lots to do: mining, fishing, farming, socializing, etc. until night fall. Stay up to late and you'll fall asleep on the spot. This physical edition came with a cut map and booklet, and a soundtrack CD.

Whether you want to spend your time farming, romancing locals, or spelunking through mines for materials, this game hit all the right notes. A single developer built this game from the ground up and it hearkens back to the best of Harvest Moon. I bought copies for friends and they were upset that I got them hooked on this peaceful stress reliever.

I grew up on a farm in Oregon. This game is way more fun than being on an actual farm. 10/10. Would pet the animals again.

I already own this for PC and Switch, but I had to grab a physical copy of some kind. Stardew Valley is the kind of game where you sit down, create a farmer, name your farm, and then three and a half years has gone by in real life. If you dont own this already on any platform, pick it up.
