We ordered the newest version of Starlink. We asked questions at the store about install but no one was able to answer them. When our order came, we found the best location was on our roof. However, we needed additional equipment to complete the install. We could not order the equipment until we activated our account. Starlink does not have customer service available so no one again was able to answer any questions. I’m sure Starlink provides better internet than DSL but for now we were so frustrated with the install and no one that we could talk with that we just ended up returning it.

Do yourself a favor and don't do business with Best Buy. I purchased my Starlink and in just 19 days the router went out and I had to return it. I had the extended warranty and they replaced it but then charged me an additional $54 stating that I consumed the warranty. No one told me that I could simply return it to Starlink since it was over their 15 day return. Best Buy will return it now and get a new one for free. What a rip off! Starlink is great, Best Buy not so much!

Customer service employee that helped us have us wrong info. He told us the unit didn't have to be plugged in, that the internal battery would run the unit. Wrong!!! We're living in our camper for awhile, using a generator at night only, so we don't have internet unless generator in running.

Picked up my Gen 3 Starlink kit and started setting it up today.
Overall, it's just "plug things in and place the dish with no obstructions".
It wants you to use your cell phone and download the app, which I did. I followed all directions, have "Excellent" signal strength but...you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get your specific Starlink registered and service working.
After almost 5 hours of trying to contact their support - which is 100% A.I. - I have gotten absolutely nowhere.
There is no customer service AT ALL!!! You have to read through all kinds of FAQ's and NONE OF THEM are accurate. They showed me screen shots of what the app should look like and mine looks nothing like the pictures, nor does it have the tabs I'm supposed to press to gather this model's information...IT'S NOT EVEN THERE!!!
I have left 5 different messages for their "alleged" support team, have received, "We will reach out to you via email or phone call as soon as possible", and after 5 hours have heard from no one.
So, I have a $300 piece of non-working garbage. I cannot even create an account because the S/N number (or whatever number they require) is NON-EXISTENT!!! I have looked all over the dish and the router, have typed in all of those numbers on my specific model and the Starlink website will not recognize any one of them.
Very disappointed and, despite everyone loving theirs, I'm starting to think these positive reviews are nothing more than A.I. writings by bots.
If Starlink fails to reach me by tomorrow this thing is going back to BestBuy.
