There are a lot of pluses and minuses to this product. For instance, having a swappable battery pack for the headset is inspired. However, the left ear cup broke off after a year and a half of regular use. If you look at the headphones, there is a single point of failure. Once that point fails, the headphones are useless. That single point of failure is not reinforced or strengthened in any way. So, the only thing holding it together is plastic and a support that is SUPPOSED to have some kind of flexibility but doesn't. This is a huge design weakness. Please keep this in mind: the warranty for these headphones is one year in the USA, two years in EU and Australia. The sound quality is excellent, but not $300+ USD excellent. You can get an equivalent, long-lasting headset with a better design for half the price.

This is an amazing headset. I have a big head and there are no other headsets I have found to be as comfortable. Unfortunately, my headset broke at the hinge. When looking up online it looks like hundreds of other people are having the same issue. Summary: great headset, expensive but it will break.

Plastic around earcups is known to crack

After just over a year of using these headphones, the plastic around the connection point forthe headband and the earcups cracked. The next day, the second pair that I bought a few months prior to the broken pair have also developed a crack in the plastic at the same spot. There have also been complaints online of this same issue in the exact same spot. My pairs have been taken good care of since they are the most expensive headphones I have purchased, but even with delicate care the quality of the materials does not last long enough to be worth the price tag. I did enjoy these headphones, but knowing that the material has this known cracking issue I cannot recommend paying $350 for these.

I will change this review if support can help in someway but atm I'm not very happy. I bought these in December of 2020. I take good care of my headsets, always put them on a headset stand when not in use. A while back I started noticing the hinges on these were becoming loose so I contacted Steelseries and they said it was just normal wear and tear. Well today, I was just watching a movie, took my headphones off to get up for a minute and the left side hinge complete broke. The plastic completely broke out and left a big hole where the earpiece connects. I started looking on Youtube and google and see now that this is somewhat a common problem. I'm not sure if support will be able to do anything because I think they are out of warranty but either way, for the price these things cost, I cannot recommend them anymore. And I loved them up until now, use them nearly every day. But they should be built differently not just able to break for over $300. Now I'm also worried because a couple of months ago I bought a pair of Arctis 7X + for my XBOX and now I'm afraid they are just going to do the same thing since they are built the same.

I was super stoked when I first bought this head set. It was sleek and had some heft, it felt like quality. Setting it up is very simple. However after over a year of use I can 100% recommend against getting this headset. The transceiver started to get burn-in after a couple months of use, on top of that it the display would randomly go haywire display gibberish and random pixels. If you try to swap the headset over from your pc to PS4/5 the microphone levels drops to a whisper and the only way to get it to work right is to reboot the PS product, but this doesn't happen with any other headset. Fast forward to the year mark, I noticed the headset start fitting funny on my head and thought nothing of it. Another month goes by and the ear piece cracked where it connects to the headband. You would think you could just warranty it right? Not if you're in America. If you are in Europe or somewhere else then they provide 2 years of warranty for the same product. This product is not worth the value they put on it, I have some Arctis 7's from 2018, literally 10x better for a third of the price.

With Arctis Pro Wireless, SteelSeries has nailed the long standing niche by bringing wired, low latency Bluetooth, and 2.4Ghz radio frequency wireless connectivity options into a single headset. These three connectivity options work flawlessly and without sacrificing the audio quality, aesthetics, and controls. While I did buy these, I can’t wait to see what SteelSeries’ next version might bring...! Right out of the box, the Bluetooth 4.2 worked with my iPhone without any noticeable video lip sync issues and while there’s no Bluetooth 5.0 chip introduced for this one yet, I was able to keep a stable connection pretty much everywhere in my house. Do note that the headset by default comes with volume limiter enabled, which can be turned off using the Base Station in the options menu. It’ll add about 6dB to the volume and that’s plenty of loudness. The Base Station is a really nice touch for this rather expensive headset and it’s easy to move it between PC and PS4 if you want to use 2.4Ghz connectivity with both to enjoy low latency gaming. I suggest that Bluetooth be exclusively used for your mobile/tablets. And lastly, there’s your traditional 3.5mm stereo wired connection for your musical keyboards/FiiO like amplifier and digital music players. Let’s talk about its unidirectional microphone - I am a fan of gooseneck microphones for the vocals they can capture, something that our true wireless earphones inherently cannot bring to the table. SteelSeries’ microphone does exceptionally well in quiet / moderately noisy environments. If you’re thinking of using this headset to conduct work calls, go for it. Just know that you may look a little weird on your video calls with this massive headset on your ears (and these cushions may get a bit warm after a while) instead of a more office-suitable Jabra Evolve series. In very noisy environments, the microphone will pick up some background noise, but I was able to comfortably carry out a conversation even then. But this is not Bose 700 noise canceling headset, which hands down reigns supreme, especially in very loud surroundings for phone calls. Sound quality, since I brought up Bose 700, is similar to it. SteelSeries sounds phenomenal; they’re not overly bass heavy but my personal opinion is that Bose 700 handles higher frequencies with a little more love than Arctis. I felt that higher end was every so slightly harsher in Arctis. Please do not think that this takes away how incredible Artis Pro Wireless sound quality is; comparative analysis always leads to, well, immediate comparison. Other features such as very comfortable (but a tad warm) cloth based cushions, extra battery that the base station can charge, and a plethora of cables are good return on investment. Micro-USB for charging is a bummer. I’d have loved USB-C. Perhaps that’s in the next model. Price? $330 without taxes in August 2020 borderlines on “a bit too much”, but only for those who do not need the 2.4Ghz Wireless + Low Latency Bluetooth + Wired + Great audio quality + ClearCast Microphone + 10Hz - 40KHz frequency response in a single headset. If you just need Bluetooth and wired and want great audio and microphone quality, get the Bose 700 as it also comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C for charging. If you only care about call quality for work and also want decent audio quality, get the Jabra Evolve. If you want a PC and PS4 (and PS5) gaming headset that is multipurpose, and don’t care about noise cancellation, SteelSeries Arctis Pro is in my opinion your best choice today followed very closely with Astro A50 + MixAMP package as it lacks Bluetooth.

PROS: Good audio quality The microphone quality is decent Swappable batteries Steel Series has software that makes this headset highly customizable sound wise The connection via the dongle has very low latency and has great range You can connect to a computer via the included dongle AND connect to another device via bluetooth CONS: Price The bluetooth has a high latency so it's painful to watch a video when the audio is slightly behind (So only use bluetooth if you are listening to music or talking to someone.) The bluetooth disconnects frequently (when it disconnects, it reconnects automatically very quickly but it is still annoying,) Hurts my ears after many hours of use (I have big ears so most people might be fine.) I saw reviews complaining about the mute button on the headset and a lot of them were over exaggerating about how bad it was. Does it feel a little weird? Sure. Have I ever muted myself on accident? Occasionally. The rate that I mute myself is NOWHERE near the rate that I should be including this in a review. People just don't know how to change their habits regarding adjusting the headset I guess. If you plan to use this headset on a computer only, I highly recommend it. I don't own a ps4 or ps5 so I can't talk about the quality in that regard. My only real complaints are the price and the quality regarding the bluetooth.

I got the Pro Wireless because I wanted to splurge. I figured that I played enough video games and listened to enough music that it warranted getting one of the more expensive gaming headsets. And I'm glad I did. This headset is awesome. It's comfortable, has a long battery life, and is a noticeable audio improvement over other headsets I've used. The real game changer for me is being able to mix audio with the amp and Bluetooth. It lets me watch TV and play games at the same time. I use this headset every day and am very satisfied with my purchase. You can get a solid headset for about 100 dollars, but if you play video games every day and are on the fence, I encourage you to treat yourself to a better experience. SteelSeries has a great line of products, and this headset has created a lifetime customer.

My first pro-level head set there are cons vs the turtle beach head sets and the Sony PS4 Platinum. Let’s talk fitment, this head set is one of the most comfortable head sets I have ever worn even better than any of the ones I mentioned earlier. Let’s talk sound quality, this head sets sound quality for hearing everything in the game is great ( like everyone tells you even the reviews) however I would also say they aren’t that great. Let me explain in both this and title beach head sets you can mod the sound so it’s preference but the turtle beach head phones give you a better range of base. The only problem with that is that the turtle beach base does boom not allowing other sounds to come through at the same time like those foot steps. The turtle beach head set also lets you boost the volume where these limit you (a lot) and having combat ears ( not kidding) it makes gaming harder for me ( however probably better to safe the rest of my hearing) this is why it lost one star. Let’s talk Recharge, the best idea is how this recharges one batter to play while the other recharges. Tested it out in playing high volume games with lots of noise and back ground music going on so I don’t give those head sets a break. They held up better than my expectations all day and night playing and never had to take a break from playing. Connect to ps5? Yes easy instructions for it come in the pamphlet or you can just watch YouTube. I found it to be common sense but than again I mess with tech everyday, just make sure you get the ones that say ps5 compatible. Over all should you get it. Definitely yes it has so many pros that I wish I would of picked them up sooner.

What I like: -Lowkey looks. Nice clean satin black, doesn't even look like gaming headphones when the mic is retracted -Super comfortable. The ski goggle strap setup works well and the clamping force is minimal enough where I can barely even notice I'm wearing them after a while even while wearing glasses, but still enough to always feel secure. The material of the earcups is breathable and keeps my ears from getting sweaty even in a hot climate -Sound quality is excellent. Clean sound without overblown bass like a lot of headphones these days. Gets very loud too. Zero noticeable latency when using wirelessly -The base station makes changing settings very convenient. Having a second battery always charging is awesome too, you never have to remember to charge since you can just swap the battery out and keep going -Chatmix and sidetone adjustments are nice to have What I DON'T like: -Price. These are great headphones but the price is still more than I think they are worth Two other super minor annoyances that most people won't care about but I'll mention anyway: -These headphones show up as 2 entries (chat & game) in the windows sound selection menu and make it look cluttered. You can't disable either or chatmix won't work. -I can't find a setting to make the screen on the base station turn off. My PC is in my bedroom and the light from the screen was annoying when I was trying to sleep. My USB ports are powered even with my PC off so I had to unplug it every night until I figured out the BIOS setting to turn off USB power with the PC.

    Great but uncomfortable

Bought these with my father about a week ago in store since an employee recommended them to me as the best wireless headphones he's ever had and I must agree. The battery system is amazing, you are given 2 in box so you can use one in the headset while you have one on standby or charging in the transmitter box. Switching out the batteries is as easy as taking off the magnetic plate on the side of the right earcup and replacing it. The sound quality of this headset is very good and the microphone quality isn't all too bad. The microphone also retracts into the left earcup so it's not in your face if you don't need it. I love just about everything about this headset except for how uncomfortable the stock earpads are. They did not completely cover my ears which caused pain very quickly. This can be easily resolved by replacing them with bigger and more comfortable padding. I did this by just removing earpads from my old HyperX headphones and fit them on and now they are much more comfortable to wear over extended periods of time. These headphones are 100% worth the price but if you have big ears like mine or just don't find the stock earpads comfortable, you will have to replace them. (note that in my photos are with my replaced earpads.)

I got these to upgrade from my A50’s for ps4 as the battery life had gotten terrible and they had started cutting out intermittently for no reason. When I first got the steelseries and hooked them up I was not impressed with the sound at all. I compared them a ton to the a50 and they fell short every time. The sound lacked soundstage and also substance. I was constantly trying to find a decent eq. Increasing the bass just made it sound boomy and without it all the preset eq’s sounded like turtle beach’s lame superhuman hearing mode lol. The only thing going for them soundwise was that they are tuned really good to pick out footsteps and directional audio. Enter wicked cushions(m50 size fits perfectly). Low end is enhanced. Isolation is enhanced. Soundstage is enhanced. And comfort is soooo enhanced!!!! They make the headphones go a little lower which def helps peeps with big heads like myself! These pads transform these headphones into the high end masterpieces they are meant to be!! All the preset eq’s are now spot on and these are the best gaming heaphones ive ever used and also sound amazing for music over bluetooth as well. Combine this upgrade with the dual battery and the precision surround sound of the dts v2 and youve got the best wireless gaming headset available today!! I cannot recommend them enough(after the mod) Anyone want to buy some Astros? lol.

I recently purchased the sennheiser gsp 670 and much to my dismay found that the range on the headset was abysmal. Nothing I could do could correct this and ultimately I returned the headset. I am so glad I did. I found I was able to pick up these headphones same day and figured it was worth a try. The arctic pros are outstanding. Audio quality is amazing, the headset is comfortable, features work as advertised and without any problems. The range is the best I've had with a wireless headset and the bluetooth connectivity with my phone works great to easily answer calls and play music without getting disconnected from the games I am playing. I cant recommend the headphones enough. The ability to easily swap out a battery and keep playing is a game changer. Im already infinitely more satisfied with my purchase. If you're on the fence, you wont be disappointed.

The pros: Comfortable - The clamping pressure wasn't uncomfortable and the elastic band doesn't give me the headache that a lot of headphones do. They didn't make me overheat like some others do, either. Range - I could walk anywhere in the house and not have an issue. The range is further than my bluetooth headphones. Mic - Everyone said I sounded pretty clear. Spare battery - I really liked having a battery I could quickly swap out. The life of an individual battery is 'meh' but it didn't really matter. The cons: Price - $350 was a tough sell anyway but you might as well call it $500 if you add tax and an extended warranty, which you might need because... Durability - It feels nice, but there are so many reports of these things cracking and breaking in places that you can't hope to fix. My head is kind of big so I know it's only a matter of time. Wireless Noise - There is a constant background noise that seems to be present with whatever tech they're using. It just sounds like white noise but it's loud enough to be distracting. Sound quality - Even when using a wired connection, it's actually bad - maybe the worst I've ever heard. I don't notice it as much in a game but music sounds awful. The volume seems to fluctuate in a way that's sort of disorienting and the bass end is almost non-existent. I've tried using different configurations and other pairs through the same configuration and nothing else sounds this bad. Software - It was fine to use but it's annoying to install something else. Unfortunately, my ears couldn't pick out an ounce of difference with dts on or off. I had to try a third party tool to get any sort of virtual surround out of them. Volume - I think the loudness is perfectly fine, but the volume control is independent of your PC. That might be good for a console, but for me it resulted in less control over volume. I have since returned this item.

Expensive, but worth the price IMHO. Very comfortable and they sound great. The range is spectacular as well. I can easily walk 25-30 feet from the receiver and still maintain a connect. Mic quality is great as well. The receiver doubles as the charger for the battery packs as well. All in all, you'll easily get 8-10hrs per charge. Swapping them out is a breeze as the side panel on the ear piece is magnetic. Pop of the panel, take out the battery, put the backup in and turn them back on. You don't have take the headphones off at all to replace the battery, that's how easy it is. Steelseries software is very easy to use as well and doesn't feel like excessive bloatware. If you are using these for PC, take note of the two options in your SoundMixer. One will be Game Headset and the other will Wireless Comm device(or something of the nature). The wireless comm device acts as what you would expect, I suppose. Its volume is significantly lower and will fade out noise if it falls below a certain threshold. This is very noticeable if you using apps like Discord. I'd suggest disabling that option from your Soundmixer so you always default to the Headset mode. Other than that, I've got 4 other friends that all use this headset and have been for the past 4-5 years and they absolutely love them! Wish I had bought them sooner.

I upgraded from Logitech G933 to this after the MIC broke after about 18 months of use. It was an insane price increase especially with the 2 year replacement warranty ($119?!). This headset is wireless with batteries, and has a "base" with a digital read out of head set status with volume indicator, battery charge. It has 2 batteries so one can charge in the base while you use the head set, so no more plugging it in. My favorite things about this head set: 1. Quality feel and comfort ( it does take awhile for your head to get used to the "band" against the top of your head. its uncomfortable first 10 hours or so you use it maybe it has to "break in"? 2. Microphone slides into the side out of the way. Also the MIC has a sound feedback ( like a telephone you can hear yourself talking in your head set through the speakers so you know how loud you are or if you're breathing into the mic. (this is so nice!) Also when muted there is a red light on the head set MIC letting you know. and mute button is on the rear of the left speaker cup) 3. Battery swap out is quick with magnetic covers, and battery comes out easily of the "control box". Complete with charge level indicator on the base station of head set battery as well as charge level of battery in the control box. 4. The sound of them is noticably better then my old G933's. I can tell the range is much higher so you hear things in music I didn't before. 5. They aren't bulky feeling like a lot of gaming headsets, and when on your head they stay put, problem with my old headset is if they were not positioned properly on your head, they would actually fall of due to the weight of the speakers on the sides and how bulky they were. This head set doesn't have that issue, you put them on and due to the stretchy strap that lays on your head it stays put. But does require adjustment sometimes I have a bald head so it can get itchy. 6.My Gaming has improved, I wear these much more then my old ones since they are so much more comfortable and easier to wear and with first person shooters, you hear foot steps a lot easier now. 7. Control box runs on a single USB port, no extra power supply needed. I really like the feedback on battery level, volume level and all that. 8. Blue tooth pairing and using it for your phone and pc at the same time is very cool and something i've never seen before. Getting a call from your phone shows up on the base station and lets you answer it right from it. Dislikes: 1. Price They are expensive at 330 dollars and the 2 year replacement price at $119 made me feel like I was being mugged willingly. (129 dollar head set is $20)? How does that price increase make any sense. I guess they feel if you have 330 to spend on head phones you have enough to pay that. 2. Uncomfortable to wear at first, they get hot and pinch on your ears. But this did get better over time, maybe I got used to it or they broke in. 3. The steelengine 3 software isn't convenient to get to controls quickly. You have to open up the main software, then click on your headset from the list, why not one click direct to headphone settings especially if you only have one device? Also if you make any changes you have to hit a "save" button to apply it. Why not just have settings become active as soon as you make a change? If you forget to hit save setting doesnt even apply again making it difficult to quickly change settings, so its at least 4 clicks to make a quick change. 4. Power button takes a 5 second hold on the head set to turn them on or off. Why not a simple switch so its instant on or off? If your head set disconnects because the battery died or you ventured too far away ( say 50 feet) from the base station, you have to hold the power button down for 5 seconds to get it to power back on. Doesn't seem that long but its irritating when you are trying to answer a phone call (forget about it) or answer a skype call on your pc and your head set is powered off. You basically have to just call back after its powered on.
