I've used the same pair of Astro A40TR headsets for 5+ years. They were getting kind of old and I was finding myself wanting a wireless headset for convenience and because I recently adopted a cat who is fond of yanking on my headset cable. I was planning on getting the Astro A50's, but ending up going with the Arctis Pro because I'm using them for video meetings for work and they don't scream "GAMING HEADSET" as much. Plus I've seen so many great reviews for them. Words do not adequately describe how disappointed I am with this headset. Straight out of the box the volume knob on the transmitter doesn't work at all. I've tried updating the firmware on the headset to no avail. In addition to that, the sound quality was absolutely terrible, muddy and constricted, with seemingly way to much mids and highs no matter what setting the headphones were placed on. My old $20 pair of Sony earbuds sound a thousand times better than these do. Finally the comfort, in my opinion, was severely lacking. Especially when compared to my old Astro headset. I have a pretty average sized head and ears but even with the strap as loose as possible the headphones felt too tight on my head. The ear cups were also too tight, and I very quickly felt my ears overheating. I must have just gotten a junk pair from the factory. Maybe if I just replaced them I could get a pair that sounds as good as how I've heard these should sound. But I'm just so disappointed that a pair could be shipped out with such poor quality, and with the severely lacking comfort (which will not change with a replacement headset) I just can't bring myself to do it. These will be very quickly getting returned and replaced with a pair of Astro A50s.
