The game-dac thats included is pointless because you cannot use an aftermarket equalizer with it, which means you cannot get decent sound from these at all. Even the surround sound is a big let down.... Big time overpriced as well... if you want a REALLY solid headset that sounds amazing, with directional surround and plenty of bass, go with the Logitech g pro x wireless.

Then purchased the Astro A50. Now I’m happy. Steel series may be good unless you want it loud. I like it loud!!! 5 Star Best Buy policy.

I’ve tried other Steel Series products in the past and I’ve returned all of them. They are super inconsistent for me. Sometimes they work great, other times, the simplest of features don’t work. I’ve tried their headsets, a mouse, and a couple keyboard and returned them all. I got this headset with some pretty high expectations especially because of the price tag. The wireless worked well and I loved the freedom and clean look at my desk. The bliss only lasted a few days. All of a sudden it stopped connecting to the base station and I tried everything from a factory reset to getting to Steel Series tech support. I exchanged it for another one thinking it was just a lemon because it was just working no problem for a couple days. After I got the replacement one all hooked up it only took a couple days until the base station completely dried out. Wouldn’t turn on, wouldn’t charge the back up battery. Nothing. Decided I won’t be trying another SteelSeries product… probably ever again. STAY AWAY
