Rear speakers had crackling and popping from day 1. After several months I decided to initiate a warranty replacement. SteelSeries support makes you destroy your current speakers (cut the cables, destroy connections, etc.) and send them proof before they will send a replacement set.
Their support told me it would take 1-2 days to ship out the replacement set. I communicated to them that I was hesitant to destroy my speakers because I use my computer for work and had no other way to get audio. They assured me the replacement set would ship quickly. I am coming up on day 4 and the replacement speakers still haven't shipped. I asked for my ticket to be escalated to a supervisor today, and they were unable to provide me any updates on my replacement set and when it would ship.
Based on my experiences on both the quality of the product out of the box combined with the nature of the replacement policy, I wouldn't recommend buying SteelSeries products.

While setup is easy enough, the audio quality leaves a lot to be desired. It is pretty garbled and noisy.
My old 13 year old speakers which is starting to fail actually sounds better than these expensive speakers from SteelSeries.
I expected more from this company, especially considering how expensive this speaker set is.
I am a software engineer and computer geek so I'm not new to this stuff. I tried everything and could not get these speakers working right. To me there is 1 of 2 possibilities:
1. I just got a defective set. Now while this is certainly possible it doesn't say much for their quality control that they would allow a defective set to ship out of the factory.
2. Badly designed. This would be even worse than option 1 that the design could cause this problem.
Whichever of the 2 is the cause, I have lost faith in this company and have refunded these speakers and am going with Klipsch.

The speakers work excellently, when they work. The sound is great. The software is easy to use, particularly toggling virtual surround sound. Also, you can turn off the RGB, which I prefer.
The negative is that if the hardware breaks, you will not get support. My dog chewed into a speakers cable, and they will not allow me to buy a replacement speakers.
If you have pets or children, get a product from a brand where they are ready to sell you replacement parts. I DO NOT RECOMMEND getting this with pets or children.
Overpriced, buy yourself some bookshelfs and a DAC

Returned these after 3 or 4 days. Rear speakers would pop for no reason, Windows wouldn't recognize them as rears, but sides, and Steelseries support said that was normal. The Reflect feature that's meant to change lighting based on what's on your monitor doesn't function with HDR on.
Sounds quality in games was good but music was horrible. Way overpriced.
Support told me the rears were meant to run at 80% volume or they'd pop, which defeats the purpose of them as I would never notice them that low.
Very loud popping sounds from the surround speaker

The main speakers have pretty good sound quality. However, the surround sound speakers make a very loud popping sound every 30 seconds after being on for a while. The company has been no help. Returning them would have been too much effort, so I kept the speakers, but I regret the purchase.

Front right speaker failed after only a few months. Best Buy was no help and steelseries support is a pain to get in touch with. Not buying from steelseries again.
