Great mid-range gaming mouse

The SteelSeries Sensei has a reputation as a popular mouse among gamers, and it lives up to the hype. While it does not have the ergonomic grip of, say, the Razer Deathadder, it also lacks the Deathadder's $70 price tag. While it is not molded specifically for one hand, it is still comfortable to hold and use withe either hand. The software that SteelSeries produces for users to customize their mouse settings is easy to learn and effective. Overall, a great mouse for the price range, and certainly one I'll continue to use for a long time
If I had to make one complaint, it would be that I have, on occasion, bumped the DPI setting swap button, resulting in a moment of either oversensitive or undersensitive mouse response before I could correct the problem. This is by no means a product-ruining problem, and one that can be adapted to with a little bit of practice.

Very good but should be better

I work from home and am a gamer, so I put a lot of miles on my mouse. I used to use a trackball, but Kensington wouldn't get it to work on W7, so I changed back to mice. My old, medium priced one was dying from heavy use and too many cleanings for cat fur. First I tried a cheapie from the site, but it was half the size of the normal mouse.
Then I bit the bullet and bought a higher end one. The RAW is very sturdy, a good size and the rubberized top is very comfortable.
The problem is I can't do basic softkeys I could with a trackball, and for this price I should be able to do so. What I'm looking for is a one button drag, double-click and similar functionality. It should be there but isn't. I checked with SteelSeries tech support to be sure and they confirmed.
Still, for basic mouse, it seems very good and I hope the sturdiness isn't an impression so that it lasts a good while.

This was one of my favorite mice to use for Counter-Strike and other similar FPS games. Can't go wrong with a Steelseries mouse, they are well-made with no frills. Pure gaming hardware.

I returned my Razer mouse and in turned bought a SteelSeries mouse. I am very impressed! All the features that you have with this mouse compared to a Razer mouse is amazing. The interface between Razer and SteelSeries is by far in favor of SteelSeries. So many things you can do with this mouse!
I would definetly recomend this to a friend.

The Sensei is comfortable to use with any hand grip style. It's material has a soft / smooth finish that makes it nice to hold. It works great for both gaming and everyday use. This is the best mouse I have ever purchased and have recommended it to my friends.

Almost identical to the more expensive Steelseries Sensei (which I use at home when I game), for much less money. I use this mouse at work, plug-and-play on a corporate notebook for easy install.

Defective piece of junk

I bought this mouse less than TWO MONTHS ago and all of a sudden the scroll wheel went on the fritz. Scrolling down on a page would result the screen jumping up and down in a seizure-inducing manner.
On top of that, the mouse had frequent tracking issues right out of the box, often with the cursor veering or hanging up. I have never had this problem before with other mice or mats--I even changed the mats out, to see if it was acting up on that mat alone, but the problem persisted.
No amount of tweaking the mouse settings both with Windows and the Steelseries engine software helped.
Even my Razer Deathadder was in better shape after three years. Mice shouldn't be failing in under 60 days.
Absolutely disgusting. I'll never buy another Steelseries mouse again.

Decent Mouse, Lousy Support

Mouse failed after 4 months. Contacted Sensei and they gave me RMA to return product at my expense. It has been 4 weeks since this process started and I still have no mouse. They apologize for delay as they are out of stock or order slipped through system or must verify my address . There is always a reason they can't send it. And all replies on my part have to go through their website. I feel like they are using stall tactics in hopes I will say the heck with it. I value support as much as products themselves. I had a bad experience with Samsung years ago and have not purchased another of their products since, If you have positive experience with another manufacturer, go with them. Bottom line,,,, Good Product, Bad Support. Not up to BestBuy standards.

I had it for almost 3 months and then it stopped working. Lights kept blinking on and off and cursor wouldn't show in screen.
