Maybe just the unit I got, but here's my experience. Bought it for daily backup. Initial load was to be 10GB or so. First 3GB took over two hours. Sigh. Well, I could live with that; backups wouldn't be such volume. Then noticed three 300MB files I didn't want to keep so went to delete them. SIX HOURS LATER it was still grinding away. I yanked it, reformatted it (slow option, took two hours) and returned it. From now on, only highly rated name brands for me.
