I purchased a tv at Best Buy. In the package was a offer for a discount on the ROKU stick. I am so happy for the purchase. Couldn't be easier to set up. So many more options to view now instead of cable. I love it.

The Roku - Streaming Stick Roku Ready MHL Version is a good alternative to Chromecast, but I don't think it's as good. I have both devices in my home and while I prefer the Roku when I have friends over because it displays the titles on the screen so everyone can read them while we decide what to watch, the Chromecast is better for everything else. The smartphone app for Roku makes me want to pick up the tv remote instead, and it offers no additional features like the chromecast. The price and functionality is very impressive when you compare these to many other devices so it gets 4 stars, but it is not the best so I can't honestly give it 5 starts.

Works well with a MHL ready TV , which means it doesn't need a separate power feed. Also the Insignia MHL ready TV remote will also control the Roku streaming stick. Connects effortlessly with Wi-Fi networks with 1080P quality picture. The new version ($10 less and a remote) of this connects to an HDMI port and needs to also have power supplied from an USB port.

Would have given it 5 stars but cannot access some stations because they're not Comcast compatible. Otherwise easy to use lots of choices

After I bought my roku ready tv, I had to get a roku. This tv came with an MHL port, specifically for the roku streaming stick, the M version, not the R. It's just an HDMI port named MHL, for roku. The setup was so easy, and I was up and running in less then 5 minutes. This is the most expensive roku streaming stick (70.00) minus the 20.00 off coupon that came with my tv, so I had to get it. It works with my tv remote again speciallly designed for the roku M streaming stick. I stream Netflix in HD and also the WWE Network, and I'm just getting started. Definitly get this, you'll love it.

If you have a TV with an MHL HDMI this is great, no need for additional power for the device and it integrates with your remote! Turns you TV into a smart TV. Outstanding for streaming and supports 1080P video, highly recommend this product.

I attached this MHL version to a dedicated HDMI input on my Pioneer A/V Receiver. Set up was fast and easy. I wanted to switch from my ROKU 2 to the newer streaming stick. I mainly use the ROKU for listening to Pandora. BUT the streaming sitck idoes not come with its own remote control. You have to use the receivers remote. Which mine did not have any dedicated controls other than choosing the input. Had to be sitting in front of the TV to change the music I listened to. With my former ROKU and remote I could change the station from just about anywhere in my 15oo sq ft house. Needless to say I returned this and went back to my old one. BUT if you just are going to use it to "watch" tv it works great and there are no cables to deal with.

Set up was easy but operation was a bit confusing for the grandkids. Once they iconnected to Ruku a couple of times it was no problem. Nice part is that you don't need to be connected to a cable NOR pay the extra for a smart TV.

this is my first Roku stick and I love everything about it super small super quick thousands of apps cant get enough

It worked great out of the box. One thing I didn't see was that the TV remote works for the Roku stick. Once I figured that out, it was great.

The Roku stick is very convenient to use and you don't have to worry about any cords showing. I would definitely recommend this and the Roku brings about a whole new T.V. experience with many good channels. I like that you can customize which channels you prefer.

I was thinking about getting another Apple TV to use in my bedroom on my new TV but I found out the TV was Roku ready. I could use my TVs HDMI port to power the Roku. So I get all these apps on my TV without needing to run a power cable or HDMI cable.

I purchased this stick to add to my Hi Sense roku ready TV. Initial networking setup was a bit tricky, as I had to alter some settings in my Comcast router. Once set up though , it has been a quality addition to my TV. Netflix and Amazon are my primary viewing choices and so far it has performed well

The ROKU works fine. Check your WiFi limits. We were having trouble connecting 14th device to our WiFi . Found out it was only supposed to support 5 devices. We added second WiFi to our one modem, life is better. I only wish ROKU would stop when tv is turned off. I came home to find YouTube still streaming music vids an hour after we stopped watching.

This streaming stick works great when paired with an MHL device.

We cut the cord on cable. This little Roku Stick has been working diligently and it is certainly worth the $ paid. We also own the little black box Roku and this stick is a space saver and works perfectly.
