This is a throwback game for me. Took me back to my teen years. Nothing fancy, but a fun waste of time.

Its the best fighting game there is man

This game is absolutely FANTAASTIC. My best character is Zangief, A Huge guy who likes to wrestle from Mother Russia. The game creators made his moves more easier to excecute like his cyclone piledriver that can be done at a 360 Degree motion. His Utlra Super Combo is absolutely FANTASTIC and takes a great amount of damage. I would say about 60 percent of damage. His moves are much more faster then how he was on previous street fighter games. His strength is superb and he is absolutely dangerous when hes close enough to grab you. But he has a weakness with characters that have projectiles like ryu, ken, guile, chun-li, akuma etc. My second best character would have to be the man known as The Master Of The Fist AKUMA. His combos are so easy to excecute and perform and His RAGING DEMON is SUPERB not to metion he has NOT ONE RAGING DEMON BUT TWO RAGING DEMONS and the second one is way better then the first one. It's his ULTRA RAGING DEMON SUPER COMBO. You can also perform fantastic link combos. But what sucks about it is that the game creators took out alot of his other super combos like his Super Fireball Super which can be performed both on the Ground and in the Air and also his Super Shinryuken Super which kind of looks like kens Super but takes out more Damage. The game creators should've kept all of akuma supers because he is the most strongest character in the game and they dont call him THE MASTER OF THE FIST for nothing you know. Finally my third best character would have to be FEI LONG. This guy is quick and fast and is known as the KUNG FU MASTER OF ALL TIMES. He kind of reminds me of the LEGENDARY BRUCE LEE MASTER. His link combos are Fantastic and easy to excecute and his supers are amazing not to mention his SUPERB ULTRA SUPER COMBO which he performs a variety of combo attacks with his FIST OF FURY upon his enemys, Hits his enemys in the air and then FINISHES HIM OFF WITH A SUPER FLYING DRAGON KICK. His Ultra Super Combo takes off a formidable amount of damage. But the sad thing about it is that his story ending was pretty not quite what I was expecting out of all the other characters story endings in the game. Some of the characters endings did not quite finish. Like Akuma and Gouki endings, where they are about to fight and then BOOM, you never get to see them fight and the ending credits show up. Atleast show a good story ending game creators. Not only that but other characters story endings werent all that impressive if you know what I mean?. Pretty much ALL the characters story endings. But the GAMEPLAY IS SUPERB! I also enjoy PLAYING ONLINE WITH CHALLENGERS ALL OVER THE WORLD THAT HAS INTERNET ACCESS. If there was a street fighter 4 tournament and the prize was to be known as the street fighter 4 game player champion, I my friend would WIN IT. Thank you sir and have a nice day.

when i first heard about this game i was pretty excited, the graphics cought my eyes, and so did the charecters. the pros of the game are the graphics, the charecters, the online, and the crazy fighting moves. the cons would have to be the controls well there not horrible but it would have to be the games weakness. thats why i suggest buying a acracde stick thats what im going to do. its also a really hard game even on the easy mode its hard. but i guess thats what so challeging about it, so thats good ill keep wanting me to play. overall i like it good fighting game i still need to play more of it. i give it a 9 out of 10

Solid Fighting Game

Overall I like this game. It's a solid SF game. The online battle is great and fun you can mix it up with people all over the world instead of having to wait for a friend to come over.
The graphics are great, but the story lines are pretty stupid. I don't think they invested a great deal of time in the story line.
My biggest complaint with this game is the last boss as most people have said. He is way to hard even on the very easy setting. It makes it difficult to unlock the hidden characters. You can spend an hour easily trying to beat him.
I'm also not a fan of the controls for this game with the PS3 controller. The D-Pad is not in a great spot, it makes it kind of awkard and the analog stick doesn't provide enough friction to get the special moves right everytime.
Overall it's a fun game but I have a feeling I'm going to get bored with it quick.

The two reviews before me kind of irritated me so I decided to write my own. I've played Street Fighter before but this is really my first go at it, and lets say I love it. The graphics for this game are very nice, especially the animations for special moves and character expressions while fighting. People say some the moves are to hard to pull off, but I think they are not patient enough at all just go into practice mode. Many of the moves are the same for characters so it's really not that difficult, it took me maybe an hour to get the hang of it and this is the first fighting game I've played in three years. The game has a few modes and unlockables to keep your interest and the added online play will keep it fresh for a long time. This game is no cake walk though, and for some people this might turn them off. There's a lot of technique in how you play, this is definitely not some run of the mill button mashing game. The final boss in particular will annoy you. My only other complaint are the worthless anime scenes for each character. Overall a great game, you just have to stick with it and the game will only get better. If you can find one, buy the SSIV fight pad or fight stick. I have for PS3 and use the dpad which works just fine for me, but I've heard a lot of complaints that a 360 controller is hard to play with.

Street Fighter Does It Again

The person below me doesnt know what hes talking about. SF 4 is not hard, and you can unlock characters even on EASIEST MODE. All you have to do is meet certain requirements like.. certain amount of perfects, some ultra finishes, etc, BUT ITS NOT HARD. Like i said SF does it again, this is what fighting games are all about. Ive been a SF fan since i was 6 and ive always loved it. This SF 4 is beautiful, the graphics are awesome, the controllers are perfect, the new characters are cool and the new specials are the bomb, theyre crazy!! If youre a SF fan, you wont have a problem learning the moves. The only thing i dont like about the game is when people keep using Ken all the time and all they do is corner others and do shoryukens like crazy, other than that this game is a must have for all the SF fans out there, this game was the only reason why i got a ps3.

Lets start with the graphics which are great with the exception of certain modeling. All the characters look great when in fighting mode but on the close up of viper for example her cleavage looks horrible and unrealistic. I know that may not seem like alot but after playing games like soulcalibur and dead or alive one comes to appreciate anatomically correct modeling and admire the human form dipicted well. Sorry but I am a C.G.I. artist and appreciate these games on an artistic level as well as gaming quality. Even the look of ken and ryu are a little wierd but these are new times filled with new ideas. this is in my opinion a great addition to the franchise. as far as game play all I can say is wow, a street fighter with character creation and so man different options for moves. Capcom really pulled out all the stops. Yes I know it is only a 2D game but seriously in those games its always hard to use the ability to move around your opponent to your benefit and in the heat of battle its always in 2D anyway. But yes I know the option is always nice to have. Either way if you like street fighter get the game you'l enjoy it allot.

The King of Fighters Returns! (Finally)

Street Fighter has returned from the land of the dead and thank god, and if you don't believe in god then thank your savior, and if you don't have a savior... well thank capcom.
For those who know Street Fighter is the best fighting game ever, and thankfully the fourth installment is no different. You can play as 20 some characters each with distinctly different styles of playing.
The graphics in the game are top notch. Tthe painted art style really grasps you and pulls you into the action. The animation is smooth and running at a great 60 frames it is amazing. Every animation of every move is beautiful and graceful. The genre-defining 2-D gameplay returns brilliantly. The detail in each of the stages is great too, there is constantly something happening in the backround of the stage.
The audio is typicall of most games at this point. It runs in Dolby Digital 5.1 and maybe DTS, I am not sure. The sound of flesh hitting flesh is very satisfying when pulling off an ultra combo against a tough foe.
The Singleplayer is a solid experience. You fight round after round against characters selected at random. The final Boss, Seth, is a complete maniac with a cheap set of moves that you can counter after learning his timing. You will learn his timing though because the campign is so repetetive you will be able to blaze through Seth time after time. The campaign has several difficulties that you can set depending on whether you are a rookie or a seasoned veteran.
The multiplayer mode is great, with both local and online multiplayer modes it will keep you coming back for more.
Each of the characters have unique playing style with different combos. The unlockables will keep you playing the campaign to achieve them all. The game will keep you playing for roughly 100 hours before you get tired of it. I am going to tell you right now that it is most fun to play local multiplayer with family and friends. The game is easily worth 60 bucks. Out of 10 I would give Street Fighter IV an 8.9 out of 10. The game is amazing but not exceptionaly amazing. Please leave feedback. Thanks for reading, BEYOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing I like is having a good boss that uses skills to make a game challenging, not some some teleporting guy with cheap moves........since when was difficulty replaced with cheating. Besides that its a great game, oh yeah get ready for some hardcore gaming blisters on your thumb.

The graphics and locations are good. The players are also good. But the rounds don't last very long, and hence the fun is short lived. I wish the characters can fight longer so that the fun lasts longer. Basically the hits do more damage to the overall energy and the energy drains out quickly.

Street Fighter 4 is by far the coolest installment in the fabled fighting series thus far! What I noticed immediately was the stylized 3D graphics that fused the classic Street Fighter II feel with modern 3D flourishes. It's not the most realistic look in the world, but it's certainly dazzling to the eye.
In terms of the gameplay, the movement is still in 2D, but the camera goes in 3D when one performs an Ultra Combo. The Ultra Combo is an extremely intuitive system. While the Super combo meter is based on how many damaging hits you land on your opponent, the Ultra Combos are determined by a Revenge meter that increases as you take damage. Once that meter gets to a certain point, just perform the input for the Ultra Combo (similar to the Super move but with all three punch or kick buttons) and deliver some serious damage. Two other additions are the focus attack (triggered by simultaneously pressing the Medium Punch and Medium Kick buttons) and the EX move (a special move done with three punch or kick buttons).
Just like with any fighting sequel, there are some new characters. There's the amnesiac Abel, who uses mixed martial arts. Crimson Viper (C.Viper for short) is a sexy female agent who wears a technologically-enhanced suit with she can deliver shocks or flaming kicks. There is also El Fuerte, a lucha libre wrestler, and Rufus, an obese fighter who has a very odd style to say the least. Lastly, there is a new final boss: Seth. Seth is by far the most challenging boss ever introduced in this series. He basically looks like Gill and Urien from Street Fighter 3. He has a plethora of moves from all the characters in the game, plus he can teleport all over the place. Beware when he performs his Ultra Combo, though. He sucks you into the yin yang ball in his stomach, spins you around in there and spits you back out. (Sounds weird, but it's cooler to witness.)
The only weakness for me was the soundtrack. The theme song during the opening sequence sounds like Chris Brown or some boy band is singing it. Not cool for those of us who like rock and roll. Plus, there are so many synth lines in the music that one could literally get sonically scarred for life (if you know what I mean). Nevertheless, the quintessential fighter rages on to new heights and then some.

I can't tell you how many quarters I plunked into SFII and its cousins in my younger years. When the PS3 version went on the cheap I had to pick it up. I've played it quite a bit with my kids and we alll enjoy it. The controls are done about as well as you can expect with a gamepad. It would probably play a lot better with an old school joystick. My only gripe is that there is some mild profanity than cannot be filtered out. Your only option is to turn the voice-over volume all the way down but this is a bit overkill in my case.

This is a game that i had really high hopes for. As a kid i always loved playing this game at the arcade, even if it was just Street Fighter one. When I first played this game, I didnt see alot of new characters and was really disappointed at the fact that they did not hook up the grapiX a bit more. I remember fighting in the USA and throwing someone into the boxes.. What happened to that!! Also, there is no bonus round. What happened to smashing up the Mercedes Benz.. I loved That!!! I would only recommend this if you enjoy the classic game with out all the fun extras in a more colorful scene..

I was always more of a MK fan when it came out compared to SF but I have got to admit this game is pretty fun also especially with others and the online feature is great as well. Like all fighting games though it can get a bit boring after so many times. I pretty much bought the game when I have others come over for game night. But if you like fighting games such as MK or SF and never get bored from them, then this is the game for you. The CPU also gives you some competition cause I feel for playing on normal it seems a bit difficult.

The king o' fighters returns for the next gen consoles. Sf4 has it all, sharp new graphics, new blistering combos even more impressive, flashy super finishing moves. Expect the old favorites like Blanka, Ryu, and Vega as some new blood like Seth and Abel. Is the AI to easy and your friends are no longer a challenge? It is okay because this game also has an online feature how’s that?

If you hate fighting games, you will hate it, oh. I love fighting games but this game is so much fun and I grew up playing every street fighter on all the systems that came out before the once we have now and when I saw this game on tv I checked it out bought it and you can't say anything about the graphics, if you have a cheap TV, you need an HD TV period. I have mine hooked up to my 40 inch and the graphics and sound are truly amazing and I love it there's not a bad thing about it and some people are just bad at video games period and say its hard. That's so not the case if your into good fighting games you will love the graphics truly the best fighting games and the Combos some are hard but if you practice you will be pretty darn good and if you don't practice of course your going to suck. By far one of the best games I have had and I have had it since it game out and I just can't believe the bad reviews about this amazing game! Dont buy this game if you have a cheap tv because you cant see the game how it was meant to be but if you have an "HD TV" and its hooked up to the HDMI it will look truly amazing and the sound just every thing is crisp about it, don't hate on this game, it's one of the best.
