I charged the pedometer immediately. I connected it to my laptop when prompted and the pedometer powered off and would not turn on again. I was very disappointed. I wasn't willing to try another.

This pedometer has been very effective at getting me to exercise. My daily steps have approximately doubled since before getting a Striiv. Once in a while, the screen will go totally blank and the unit has to be rebooted, but it remembers the data (sometimes loses a few minutes, but not much).
The online site is nice, and I sync daily. I wish it showed more detailed information, though.
For me, it does tend to under report both steps and stairs. This is because it waits to record them until you've done a certain number in a row. This works well when you want to avoid having road bumps count as steps or if you tend to work out in longer bursts. However, if you are at home and a lot of your steps are going from room to room with a pause or only have one flight of stairs available, this is definitely annoying. It would be nice if there was a firmware update to give it adjustable sensitivity (even many cheap, basic pedometers have a sensitivity adjustment).
Despite the few drawbacks, this is the only pedometer that has ever gotten me off my back end and moving much more. The challenges are fun, I love that I can exercise to support a cause, and the MyLand is a lot of fun.

How to find 30 mins to go to a gym? I couldn't, but as a diabetic, I needed to get excercise. This device motivates me to get moving 2 or 3 minutes at a time. Over the course of a day, I am now walking an average of 2 miles and burning lots of calories. My blood tests for diabtes are now near normal after only 3 1/2 months. Plus, I am a game addict, and building the islands and responding to random challenges really keeps me motivated hourly. Now my older sister is using a Striiv, too.

This is a REALLY cool little device! Quite accurate, easy to set up and use, and best of all, FUN! I've never counted my steps before, so it is rewarding to know that just about every day I have been getting in my 10,000 steps. Since I set it up, I have been religiously been wearing it, so I strongly recommend it. I haven't even gotten into the rewards and giveback parts -- will do that in the days and weeks to come.

I get on the treadmill and start doing some challenges. Some of the challenges are things like 2000 steps or 50 stairs. (don't do stairs on the treadmill) There is no monthly fees. I feel it counts pretty good. I like it when it says good job you did the challenge. Hooks to any clothing. Others don't count when you put them on your yoga pants. I did drop it a couple of times and it still works with no problem. I heard of this from the logical weight loss guy.
Love it.

Wonderful device, excellent motivator

I love this device. It is such a great motivator because of all the charitable work that can be done through it. THe other day I got up and walked an additional half mile just to get the last few steps I needed to donate another day's worth of drinking water.
It is very easy to use. My 5 year old daughter can easily navigate it. I have only had it for three days but it has been in my pocket non-stop. I enjoy checking it to see my progress and take challenges that it posts.
Again, can't stress how much I really enjoy this device!

Great motivation

I upgraded my previous pedometer to the Striiv because I liked the idea of the extra motivation it offered. The only thing it is missing is an online database that keeps track of the data it is collecting (:stairs, steps etc). My old one (Omron) had a database. I like to see progress.
Overall I like this unit. Be careful when you clip it in a pocket. Mine fell out of my jeans pocket in the toilet ...Left it in rice for 4 days and it came back useable.. YEH,,, too expensive to buy a new one. So heads up..

I would love to give this product a better review but after 6 months mine broke and their customer service is non-existent. I’ve had a ticket into them for over a month and have had no response back from them – even after multiple attempts to try and reach them. My biggest issue is the clip/belt holder doesn’t actually hold the product in securely. Mine kept popping out of the holder and finally one day I went to put it on and it had a HUGE crack on the top of the screen. Most pedometers and smartphones still work with a crack but not the Striiv. They need to come out with something that will actually attach the device to your pockets or some way to make it stay in the holder better. Too bad to cause the little game was cute while it worked and donating to the rain forest or water idea with steps was awesome but don’t expect the product to stay with you for years. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends and sadly I’m out $99. : (

I love this it is so much fun. It really shows you how much you don't move, the challenges keep you wanting to move to earn more points. I really love that you get to donate wate, shots and land to those that are in need, the more you move the more you get to give/help. Our family has 4 of these. The kids like that it shows them racing too.

I originally had a Striiv Play, that I liked except for interference with my legend headset. I lost thePlay, and decided to try this since it didn't require Bluetooth. The touchscreen is small, hard to read, and very inconsistent in response. The device will not connect with MyFitnessPal, as the Play will, a deal breaker for me.

Best Pedometer I've ever purchased

This pedometer is smart enough to know whether you're walking, running, walking up stairs or sitting still. First pedometer I've purchased that doesn't count steps during my drive to work. Any questions I've had were quickly answered by customer service. Fun and easy to use.

Love My Striiv

I have had and used my Striiv for over 9 months. I have lost weight and kept it off. I have increased my daily activity and have become more cognizant of creating time and opportunities to move throughout my day.
I have owned other pedometers, but nothing matches the Striiv.

Wow! i FEEL LIKE i AM GETTING SOME PLACE. Makes me happy....I like to enter numbers in a journal and this thing tells me where I've been. I never knew the steps between the gym equipment or the walks with my dog are actually valuable.

It's another gimmick

So my wife and I bought these as replacements for the FitBit arm bands. Figured it was a hundred bucks, and were intrigued by the "challenge your family for chores" advertising. Well, have had it for a couple of weeks now and really don;t feel that it was a useful purchase. I end up forgetting to put it on in the morning more than I remember it. Great concept but it really is just a gimmick with the games and color screen. Going to return it as I just don;t see the need for it that I cannot accomplish with my $5 pedometer. I can challenge my wife at the end of the night by counting the steps on my pedometer.

On paper it was awesome...when we first got them (2) we were elated...but a little over 2 weeks into our enjoyment of using them they broke down. The one I had the buttons stopped working...I returned it and they had to order a new one because although mine had a problem my wife's didn't. Two days after I returned mine my wife's unit stopped working at all...so we returned hers and cancelled the reorder of mine...VERY disappointed

My initial satisfaction with this device was over the top! Then within a month or so the gadget developed some minor bugs. The BIG problem is Striiv customer service. They DO NOT offer consistent support of the product. Their customer service took my potentially 100% positive vote and turned it into 100% negative vote.
