Everyone thinks they know the story of the 'Miracle on the Hudson', but this beautifully paced and beautifully acted film, with Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart, takes you into the story and makes you realize the true miracle of men of courage doing their best and the worst of possible times.

Tom Hanks was of course great in his acting role in this movie. However - this movie is a true story and quite frankly it just isn't that exciting. It was nice to see the story on the screen but after watching I was happy that I never wasted money at the theater to see it and was angry at myself for not waiting until this movie made it's way into the bargain bin before buying it. Or better yet I should have waited until it was free on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Clint Eastwood directs and Tom Hanks plays Sully in the "Miracle On The Hudson" US Airways plane water landing. Many people don't realize Captain Sullenberger faced a severe review of his actions for ditching his plane instead of trying to return to the airport. This is a story of staying cool under pressure and very inspirational both in the recreation of the plane ditching and rescue and the FAA review board interrogating Sully and his emotional turmoil.

I enjoyed this movie. People claim it's not accurate that the Captain wasn't under any scrutiny, but in this "blame everyone," bean counter world we live in, I find it hard to believe that someone wasn't trying to blame him for something, no matter his heroism. Call me a cynic. In fact, that's the movie's overall point that people missed. That no matter what, "someone must be blamed," and how sad this thinking has permeated out society.

Seriously, is there any role Tom Hanks can't play? He acted like a 6-foot little kid in Big, he's played a mentally challenged southern man in Forrest Gump, and he did it perfectly. It's no surprise he shines in Sully, a story that America treasured at the time and still continues to.

True life story of an incident I remember being on the news and seeing the amazing story. The movie goes beyond the heroism of the pilot and captures another angle of the story'short aftermath including physiologically reliving the event and being challenged did he do the right thing!

Innocent until proven guilty does not apply when airplane crashes are investigated. In real life Sully did have to do his own analysis of all of the details that were relevant to the hearing. Great execution and an entertaining movie that could have been just another court room drama.

I thought twice about purchasing this movie , now lm glad I bought it. This is a terrific real life movie, that does not skimp on anything. And the story of all the crew is extremely realistic and based on fact . This is a must see . And a great addition to any collection!!

"Sully" chronicles the Jan. 15th 2009 ill-fated U. S. Airways flight 1549 that made an emergency landing on the Hudson River in NY after striking a flock of birds. Very well done, and includes a story line of the FAA's investigation into the accident that didn't make the headlines.

as a movie fan i really enjoyed watching this incredible true story. and yes Tom Hanks is a great actor

This was a very good movie, portraying the events before and after captain Sully had to make a decision to land his plane on water after the plane engines were hit by birds,, saving all his crew and passengers , but it's what the investigation board tried to do to him afterwards...

I like Tom Hanks movies. I also liked the movie and how he had to prove he did the right thing. That didn't make the news.

Although I am told that not everything was portrayed exactly as in reality, I think they did a GREAT job to express some of the pressure on the Captain following the incident, which is a part of the story most people are not aware of. Really great movie. Tom and others did well.

We all know of the heroic effort of Pilot Sully. What I did not know was the behind the scenes investigation that tried to show that the pilot and co-pilot erred in their judgment to land on the river. Mr. Sully is a smart man and a hero and proved the investigators were wrong.

If you want a dramatic action movie to watch then look no further ...movie is great from start to finish

The movie did a great job of maintaining excitement while remaining true to the facts of the incident. It was an incredible event, and I think the acting in this movie does an excellent job of showing aspects of this event that didn’t get as much press attention.

I am installing surround sound into a second room in my house. I needed to do this one on a budget. I was surprised to see how many features today's receivers have for half the money I paid for my other one a few years ago. Sound and picture are great, and the flexibility of programs is excellent. The only negative is that it doesn't support an I Pod through the USB connection. I will utilize the Blue Tooth and stream it from my phone.

Real life drama documented for all to enjoy. A true hero, using his experience and wits to save his passengers and crew. Eye opening how government analysts, looking for the truth, are bent to look for the negative. So glad we have people like Sully in this world.

We had heard about the amazing landing Captain Sully made, saving the lives of all on board his flight, but we had not heard about all he and his co-pilot were put through to prove they were not in error to have landed the plane on the Hudson. This is a wonderful film!

The NTSB tried to come down hard after the accident on Sully only to eventually be put in thier place in excellent fashion! The movie switched back and forth between the investigation and the event which usual I don't like. However it was done just right in this film!
