Sully", the movie produced and directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks, is the story of 208 seconds of a man's life. It's also the story of 208 seconds of 154 other souls' lives. The movie is not a long one - 97 minutes - but Eastwood has put together a masterful show of how one man's instincts and judgement can come together at one crucial moment to perform what amounted to a "miracle". Of course, Captain Chesley Sullenberger was helped by his co-pilot and crew, and the rescue operations of the NYPD and maritime units. Tom Hanks is an actor who seems able to possess another man's body and personality. Other reviewers point out his roles in "Forrest Gump" and "Philadelphia" - among others - but I think his acting of Congressman Charlie Wilson - in "Charlie Wilson's War" - was his best "capture" of another man's essence. His performance here in "Sully" might be as good, but I wonder if this movie will be as overall powerful as "War". Maybe so, I hope so, anyway. I thought the most important line in "Sully" was made by an official who said that "The Miracle on the Hudson" "was the best news in NYC in years, involving airplanes". Was it by chance this movie was issued the weekend of September 11th?

My parents, husband and I really enjoyed this movie, and my parents actually stayed awake through the whole movie.

This is a wonderful true story Tom Hanks is great as Capt Sully. The bonus content is also worth seeing

A must see ... being that it is based on true events and what all had o be done keeps you in suspense ...

Awesome movie and I can personally say being an airline pilot myself the film seemed very realistic to me. Had an opportunity to see the filming process at LaGuardia Airport as well with the whole film crew during my scheduled day of work at Terminal B at Concourse D (the scene at the mini mart at the airport.)

I really love this movie. I have watched it numerous times. It was interesting to learn what Captain Sully went through with the review board after the miracle landing when everyone was praising him as a hero. Looks great in 4k.

When I lived in NY I flew from LGA on a weekly basis. The thought of a water landing never crossed my mind. Hanks handles the cockpit scenes with the aplomb of a seasoned pilot but the true kudos go to the real crew. The flick is well done.You can feel the icy Hudson River water lapping at your toes.
