I do not understand how anyone could give this tripod four stars. I just opened it up to test it out. It is made out of incredibly cheap plastic. The operation of the moving parts is anything but fluid. The crank to raise and lower the platform is both akward to use and extremely brittle. Its operation is extremely rough. I would never trust a piece of expensive equipment to this tripod. I cannot believe that Best Buy was asking $40 for this item. I bought it on sale there for $20, and still will be returning it immediately. I have professional tripods and mediocre tripods, but wanted to get a lower end one for use outside in poor conditions. It never occurred to me this product would be so poorly manufactured. It is not worth $40, $20 or even $10 to me.

I'm 6', so this isn't perfect eyelevel. The tallest height of tripods are always measured at their most wobbly outstretched extention. I bought this for a trip oversees, so It needed to fit inside my luggage. I read all the reviews of this, and similar tripods, and feel this happy with my choice. As for the complaints about parts being cheap? I treat my stuff nice and gentle. It works better for non-pan shots, rather than panning. But it is possible. Don't expect professional panning results. Even tripods with consumer grade, fluid heads, are dicey when it comes to professional results. It comes with 2 camera quick release mounts, and that's really nice. I have another cheaper tripod, and this one looks superior when next to it.

I plan to take this on a family trip coming up so I haven’t had the chance to fully see its capability but for light use taking pictures of family at home has been great ! This frame is light weight , I plane to take it hiking with me too. It folds up compact to fit in a backpack. The GoPro, Cell Phone attachenments come with this but they are not super quality. Be very careful with your Phone or GoPro. I would say for what it is it’s really nice! You may want to try this stand and then later down the line you could decide that investing in a more pricy stand is for you. Otherwise it’s a good cheaply priced stand overall.

I don't know why people gave this product any star, let alone 5 stars; I would give it negative 10 if I could. The product is so filmsy and unstable, I would not trust it a bit to put anything value - no matter how lightweight it is - on this thing. It came well packaged; upon unpacking, however, a strong oil smell could be felt. The center column fell off, and couldn't be screwed back on despite several tries. The tripod head was damaged with marks, and the whole unit looked and felt cheap. If you care about your $800 iPhone or valuable DSLR, do NOT buy it.

I didn't pay retail for this and I wouldn't recommend anyone pay $40 for this. Wait for it to go on sale or shop around for other affordable tripods. This thing is CHEAP. Lots of plastic and thin metal everywhere. Don't be so rough with the adjustment locks because it's basically plastic vs. metal. It's super lightweight(obviously), which makes it pretty good for travel, but I wouldn't want to rely on something so fragile if I was going on a faraway trip. I'd only recommend this for indoor use or light outdoor use.

I purchased the product when it was on sale for only $10. I had to exchange the first one since the leveling liquid must have evaporated out because i didnt have any in the tube to see if my tripod was level. Note too that the robber stopper at the end of the tripod base tends to pop off, reducing stability in the legs. I had to glue it on to make sure i dont lose it. I would give it 3 stars for quality but it fulfills its purpose and the price couldn't be beat so i guess that's a plus. Would only recommend IF it is still on sale. I wouldnt spend the retail $40 on it.

Today , I have received product which has broken pieces. Am really surprise by seeing it how a repudiated company like BEST BUY delivered such a product with out reviewing checking. It seems the product was already used where can found some scratch on tripod stand due to expanded multiple times it seems. Am going to return this immediately.By it appearance it self we can found that it is used piece...really disappoints my expectation.

Tripod Smells Strongly Like Gasoline - YUCK

    Posted

Upon unboxing,, this tripod smells strongly like gasoline. The odor is so strong, I won't even keep it in the house, and had to wash my hands immediately to get the smell off. It's on sale for $9.99, and I can see why, as this product is disgusting. It's cheaply built, and will stink up your home. On a positive note, it's very lightweight, has a small built in level, and comes with attachments for a smartphone and Go-Pro. I'd return it, but don't want to go through the hassle for $9.99. I should have just gone to a garage sale to get something better . . . Come on, Best Buy! Really? My first online purchase makes me never want to trust you guys again.

I only gave this tripod 2 stars because although it functional with my micro video 4K YI cameras (similar to GoPro) with all aluminum legs the camera mount mechanism is all cheap plastic. Tripod is very light and that’s good but the adjustable height camera mount mechanism is plastic and very loose and shakey. I will never place my Canon M50 with Tele Lens on this tripod. Purchased for under $10 and that’s all it’s worth. I would only recommend this to a friend that plans on using inexpensive camera/video equipment on it and if the price is under $10.

I purchased this, but returned it. I previously purchased the 6000 platinum plus model, but the pistol grip does not work well with a video camera. Therefore, I wanted an inexpensive alternative. The 5555 is wobbly, light, and made of all plastic. It would work fine for stationary still photos, but I’m taking video at ball games and need something sturdy. I ended up returning it and ordering a Neewer attachment that screws on in place of the pistol grip.

This tripod is amazing, price and quality unmatched. I only paid $10 before Christmas, It was on sale in a pile in the photo dept. I had to double and triple check the price considering the little 3 inch tripods are upwards of $20.. It has a leveler, and it extends in height. Also the attachment where the camera sits has a quick release so you don't have to keep unscrewing it. I also use this to attach my webcam. Over all I love this tripod and adding in the price, you cant beat it.

Bought this at half off president's day weekend. Originally $40, purchased for $20 online for in store pickup. Purchasing online I got a shutterfly code for either $25 towards a purchase or an 8x8 photo book. Haven't redeemed it yet, but the offer adds value to my purchase. When the legs are fully extended it seems a little on the flimsy side, and the mount seems like it would droop if a heavier camera were mounted. It's easy to assemble/collapse.

This item is regularly priced at $39.99 but was on sale for $9.99 on Black Friday. I purchased the tripod and was very disappointed when it arrived. Item is cheaply made and not at all sturdy. The legs are thin aluminum and the plastic is very thin. It feels like the tripod is going to break while you are setting it up. The slightest breeze will make it shake. The camera extension that raises the camera leans to one side even when you tighten the knob. I do not recommend.

It works great for light weight devices that have tripod thread but I wouldn't put my full size DSLR on it, too flimsy and I'm not sure you could tighten the various pivot points enough to hold it with breaking them. I needed a tripod to hold the calibration microphone for my AVR and found this on sale. Worked perfect for that use case. As long as your careful with it I'm sure it would work perfect for a GoPro or smaller digital camera.

Super easy to set up and use. Ideal for any beginner, I've tested other fancy ines and still glad I got this one! Such an awesome deal $199 for this and the Samsung 360 Gear Camera (2nd edition). We were offered one for $399 for business (just for the oculus no 360 camera, you can imagine how happy I was when I found this deal.We use the 360 camera almost everyday downtown Chicago :)

bought this and was quite surprised how light and flimsy it was, so if you were taking a pic outside and it's windy, not sure how it would stand up. Used it twice and the handle to raise and lower the camera height cracked off of it. . Wasn't forced, just broke off, way to easily. Not satisfied at all with this product

I bought this Tripod last year during the Black Friday sale. Got a great deal on it but not even a year later the knob to rotate and adjust the camera broke off. I still use It but u get what u pay for lol it still gets the job done. This is great for beginners who just need a tripod to start off but I would suggest spending a little more for something a little more sturdy and well put together.

I got this for a Christmas present and just used it. I was completely upset when the cell phone adapter broke on the first use. My phone is not large, nor was I rough.... It just snapped from the base. I'll be returning it for replacement. The actual tripod is okay and sturdy. . . as far as I know. I tried it once. Not sure how it will hold up against the wind.

As stated in other reviews these smell bad like oil or other chemical. I left them both out all night and they still smell not as bad. As a tripod for a phone they are great and come with a holder for your phone as well. For $10 dollars they are acceptable. Would pay 5 more without the smell.

I took this Tripp’s out on a windy day and I must say my camera isn’t that heavy but this tripod held up pretty nicely. I am 5’7 and in order to take great portraits of my self I was able to walk away about 6feet to get me perfectly in frame! It also comes with a carrying bag, and a part to set up your phone as well as a balance beam attached to it to make sure your camera is balanced with no crooked photos!
