I do not understand how anyone could give this tripod four stars. I just opened it up to test it out. It is made out of incredibly cheap plastic. The operation of the moving parts is anything but fluid. The crank to raise and lower the platform is both akward to use and extremely brittle. Its operation is extremely rough. I would never trust a piece of expensive equipment to this tripod. I cannot believe that Best Buy was asking $40 for this item. I bought it on sale there for $20, and still will be returning it immediately. I have professional tripods and mediocre tripods, but wanted to get a lower end one for use outside in poor conditions. It never occurred to me this product would be so poorly manufactured. It is not worth $40, $20 or even $10 to me.

    Not worth $39.99 or $9.99

This item is regularly priced at $39.99 but was on sale for $9.99 on Black Friday. I purchased the tripod and was very disappointed when it arrived. Item is cheaply made and not at all sturdy. The legs are thin aluminum and the plastic is very thin. It feels like the tripod is going to break while you are setting it up. The slightest breeze will make it shake. The camera extension that raises the camera leans to one side even when you tighten the knob. I do not recommend.

    Piece of junk

I don't know why people gave this product any star, let alone 5 stars; I would give it negative 10 if I could. The product is so filmsy and unstable, I would not trust it a bit to put anything value - no matter how lightweight it is - on this thing. It came well packaged; upon unpacking, however, a strong oil smell could be felt. The center column fell off, and couldn't be screwed back on despite several tries. The tripod head was damaged with marks, and the whole unit looked and felt cheap. If you care about your $800 iPhone or valuable DSLR, do NOT buy it.

In short this tripod is not worth your time. On sale, you may get it for quarter the original price but still it's not worth it. The construction is extremely flimsy. My suggestion would be to save for a better tripod.

Just arrived last evening- box open, smells bad and all the parts are not there. Very cheaply made and shipped. Would not trust it with an expensive camera. Heck even the piece that holds the camera is at an angle. Will be returning as soon as possible. Not sure I will buy online from Bestbuy anytime soon if this is the quality of merchandise they sell.
