if you like action this is the game. the action in the game is funny and awesome with funny story line and strange weapons the story is awesome.

Honestly Sunset Overdrive wasn't a big blip on my radar initially, but as the videos starting popping up and some of the early previews started talking about what the game was like, I got more interested. Having poured a good 10 - 15 hours into it already, all I can say is I'm floored by how much fun it is and it's quickly jumping to the top of my all time faves list. The humor is great - some folks don't like it, but I've laughed regularly at the jokes, the references, the moments they break the fourth wall, etc. Gameplay wise, it's such a mix of some of my favorite games, it's no wonder I love it. Basically it feels a lot like.... Ratchet & Clank's broad variety of unusual weapons and hordes of enemies to kill with said unusual weapons. Infamous Second Son's open world to explore by traversing quickly like a superhero (grinding, big jumps, etc). Jet Set Radio's mostly automatic grinding and tricks - once you're grinding or performing a trick, it's mostly automatic so you can focus on shooting enemies and switching up weapons. Tony Hawk Pro Skater's non-stop linking of said grinding and tricks. As you traverse the city, you'll naturally learn to perform the grinds and tricks necessary to get from point A to point B.

I picked up this game for about $20 when BB had it on sale and I think for what I paid it was a pretty good deal. Has a fun open world, and you can turn off the vulgar language and such to make it more appropriate for a younger audience ... but its still pretty violent and rude even with those setting changes. I choose to let the kids play it and they have a blast with it, there is little punishment for dying and a lot of missions to keep them busy and entertained.

I have to be honest, I wasn't one of the people looking to purchase this game. I honestly hadn't even heard of it until looking up Microsoft exclusives. I bought two games for my son for Christmas while target was doing the buy two get one free deal again. It was between this and a few other games. I almost didn't pick it. Boy am I glad I gave it a chance. I honestly thought at first by the pictures online and preview that is was going to be dumb. I am 27 years old, I'm very picky with the games I play. I don't tend to sway away for the preferred genres of mine. I have to say that I find myself not being able to put this game down. Just when I think the game can't get anymore insane or have some off the wall comment that makes me bust out laughing literally; it does. The game play is fun. It's new, it doesn't feel like the same old thing with "COD" or games like that. I give Microsoft Studios a 10/10 on this game. I have been looking for a "different" game for awhile. Each game I've got so far on X1 has been good but not great. Everything has just felt so repetitive even though they are great games. But this breathes new live in the shooter genre. Honestly, I would pay full price for the game. I would honestly purchase an X1 just for this game. If you want a new game that is totally different, off the wall, that will make you laugh and totally just enjoy having fun with the X1 console, I think this may be the game your looking for. Give it a shot I don't think you'll regret it.

Wow, simply put, WOW! SO much fun. It doesn't take itself seriously and adds to the comic element of the colorful shooter. Perfect blend of Tony Hawk and a shooter. It's fun, funny, and a blast to play. I got lost sometimes just grinding through the city, swinging off poles, running on sides of buildings etc....It's a blast. Besides Shadow of Mordor, it's the best game i've played in years!

Sunset Overdrive was a launch game from Insomniac (the team behind excellent Ratchet and Clank games) for the XB1 and it has aged very well. The game is colorful, controls well, and is funny and just fun to play. It reminds a little bit of the Sega classic, Jet Set/Grind Radio and that's a very good thing. If you haven't picked this up yet, do yourself a favor and grab it.

This an exclusive title from Insomniac games from the creators or Ratchet and Clank. This is the first time they made an exclusive for a non Sony system and it has all the flair and humor as a Ratchet game just this is humans in a regular city.. If you like over the top humor, crazy guns, and just a quick game thats constantly got you moving you will like this.

Beautifully animated/programmed world with lots of pretty colors! Hilarious dialogue from the narrator and characters. Fun, fast-paced action interspersed between bouts of open-world exploration. Innovative weaponry with cool effects! Pretty different from any game I've played before, and I've played them all. If you're on the fence, it's definitely worth a try.

It's sense of humor might rub you the wrong way but I personally liked their style. It just feels so good traversing the world and shooting everything in sight. Also it's nice to see a game that actually uses some color for once instead of the gray brown hyper-realistic garbage we've been getting for years. Makes me a feel a lot better about my Xbox One purchase.

Originally played this during a 48 hour free trial on xbox live and was immediately hooked. The game can get a little repetitive if you do all of the side missions, but the main story is really fun. Best way I can describe this is a mix of Tony Hawn Pro Skater and InFamous. If you're a fa of either of those series (or like me, both) this is a must try.

This is s fun game but it runs into the same issue as dead rising. You just go around killing things and creating weapons. Story is ok but it does get a little boring. Lots of violence and foul language so watch who you let play or watch you play. I got it on deal of the day very cheap which made it ok but definitely not worth full price

Good story, great graphics. If you have a time to get more invested in the game play, you'd probably get more use out of this game than I did. I tend to prefer games that require a relatively low time investment as a given moment, by which I mean those that I can play when I have a quick ten minutes to kill, like a quick matchmaking game in Halo.

This game is perfect if you liked Jet Set Radio and Left 4 Dead. This is basically a combination of the 2. You get to grind around town and slay zombie like creatures all while using ridiculous weapons. If you need to kill some time and have a good deal of fun for the price this usually goes for you can't go wrong!

New new new finally something different than Halo and Call of Duty. Easy to play but you must solve puzzles. Controls let u set level of play or how much graphic detail you want to see and boy is there a lot to see. For younger people you can control language and etc. Play it and you will love it

From the creators of Ratchet and Clank - so you know there's going to be fun weapons and great platforming. Free roaming in the open world is a good time, and it's so far making for a very full and long-lasting experience. Plenty of DLC available for when I finish everything on-disc.

I took a chance with Sunset Overdrive. At first, I thought the game would just be a simple run and gun shooter; was I wrong. The game is a fast paced action shooter game that prides itself on fast movement while shooting. This changes the dynamic of just running into a fight guns blazing. The more "style" you can add to your fight, the more points, damage, etc. you can obtain. The game does not take it self too seriously either. The humour is everywhere. You can customize your character pretty much how you want. Want purple hair? Done. Want crazy outfits? Done. This all adds to the humour of the game. One thing that I really like, is you have an option to turn off the gore. This is a welcome addition as sometimes I just want to play a game free of gore. You can easily access this option at anytime during the game. Wish more developers would provide this option. Overall, a fun and exciting new franchise for a new generation of home consoles.

I am a dedicated gamer and bought this game to add to my collection. I am absolutely one hundred percent happy with this title. Some of the humor is a little on the mature side, so probably not for the kiddies though it might look like it. For those of age, this game is a blast! The artwork is beautiful, the humor light but in a pleasant way, and the gameplay is addictive, exciting, and fun. Plenty of clothing customization, very big level that can e traversed in many different ways, memorable and creative baddies and bizarre weapons are sure to please! If your a fan of platforming games, don't miss this one!

This game didnt get the attention it deserved back in late 2014. It has a hilarious story, amazing world traversal system, and the multiplayer is a blast. Ill never okay an open world game the same way again, and I desperately hope a sequel comes our way.

This game is a take on serious games and shows them up in a funny, fun gameplay way. The open world travel by "skating" is a neat way to get around and the weapons are ridiculously fun to use. Get this if you want a different type of open world game.
