Sunset overdrive feels like a shooter combined with grinding on a rail in THPS2. The story is funny, so this combination makes for a great game.

This game reminds me of tony Hawks pro skater without the skateboard. Also the story is great. I was sad that it ended. Definitely recommend this game.

There is nothing subtle or overly clever about Sunset Overdrive, but it controls like a dream and is stupid fun. This, my friends, is a video game.

Very fast paced game play, gorgeous graphics, and an open world that is alive and vibrant. The outlandish weapons that have to be seen to believe.

I haven't gotten too far in to the game (nostalgia for Halo kicked in), but so far it looks pretty and is fun! Got it for like $14 so worth it.

This fast paced game is welcome among the sea of first person shooters that are out right now. The mechanics of moving around take some time to learn but once you do fighting and getting around the city will become natural to you. The story is nothing special but the dialogue and characters make for a great time. There are also some creative boss fights. The main story alone took me about 15 hours to complete but there were a dozen side quests still available. There will also be additional content within the next few months, for purchase of course.

    Great non-serious, open-world game

If you're looking for a game that isn't dead set on being super serious and trying to align itself with the real-world, Sunset Overdrive is likely for you. The game constantly makes fun of how itself and other games handle various aspects of games, such as map boundaries being 'Invisible Walls' that you simply cant go through. Or how it doesn't matter if you die in most games as you'll just come back in some cool re-spawn animation. The weapons, as can be seen from any of the game trailers, are also a reminder of how in a video game anything is possible and why not go wild with what they look like and how they function. Containing everything from regular hand guns to explosive teddy bear shooting rocket launchers, to lasers and fireworks. Aside from this Sunset Overdrive is set in an open world that you're free to roam around in as you choose, doing any combination of side-missions and challenges in whatever order you wish to, including re-playing any mission, challenge, or side-mission later for bonus rewards. In addition, there are also tons of clothing options to mix and match, or simply not put on at all. Overall I found Sunset Overdrive to be an very enjoyable game and will continue to play it from time to time along side others games.

Fun game - Dead Rising 3 meets Tony Hawk

Definitely a fun game. Take the huge amount of enemies and open environment setting of Dead Rising 3 and combine it with quick movement controls of the old Tony Hawk games and you get Subset Overdrive. I'd say it takes the best of those games and the new mix mash it presents is surprisingly fun and even though you may have seen the parts of the game mechanics scattered through out different games, the way they put it all together here just feels new and fresh. I honestly wouldn't suggest buying an XB1 just for this game but if you already own an XB1, I'd say you'd have to at least give it a try. Hopefully XBox continues to come with cool titles like this. FYI - for parents, the game has and option to censor out language and gore and this game definitely has a lot of language. I really appreciated the language option as I was playing it with my nephew and the first F-bomb would have dropped in the in 1st 10 min. Kudos to the developers as when you start the game and adjust your brightness setting, it shows you the language and gore option right away. I wish more developers would give this option as it makes the whole experience more family friendly as well as being adult for those who want to play it that way.

    Sunset Overdrive - Xbox One

Sunset Overdrive has ruined my attention span, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. During my 30-hour trip through developer Insomniac's insane but endearing depiction of the apocalypse, I strayed off the beaten path more than I have in any other open-world game in recent memory. Despite the mini-map encouraging me to head 400 meters east, I couldn't help but veer off the route at every opportunity.

One of the best games of 2014. Combat and open world traversal are excellent, and the humor is spot on for satirizing game tropes.

One of the new IP's currently exclusive for Xbox One Sunset Overdrive is a mix between Jet Grind Radio and some of Insomniacs titles like Ratchet and Clank. The game is a third person shooter that utilizes crazy weapons to craft an enjoyable experience. There is plenty to do and collect in the game with many different challenges that will test your mastery of the different mechanics in the games. The world is also very colorful. I enjoyed this title a lot and its probably one of 2014's best games.

I've only got a couple hours of playtime in Sunset Overdrive, but it's pretty clear what the game is all about: kill zombies and look good doing it. The controls are decent. Graphics are good. But even after a couple hours the game felt redundant. So... If you've got some time to burn on a game that has lots of shiny stuff to look at and doesn't require much brainpower, step right up.

The selling point of the game is crazy weaponry and nonstop action. The weapons are very characteristic of Insomniac (think Ratchet & Clank). They all level up simply by using them and all have rock-paper-scisor ratings for use against different types of enemies. The game is quirky and goofy, but generally funny and entertaining. It suffers from the usual pitfalls of an open world game (collectibles & fetch quests for example) but kept me playing and enjoying it for 25+ hours.
