Nintendo is killing it this year. Great game for kids and adults alike. The controls are perfect for those who want to chain together more difficult and complex moves, or those who just want an easy-going gameplay experience. I can play next to my 5 year old son, and both of us get a similar level of challenge and satisfaction. Looks great in docked on 1080p, upscaled to 4k, and in handheld. 10/10 game of the year contender.

This game is out of this world (literally as well) and you shouldn't pass it up. I place it up with Breath of the Wild in terms of eye-catching, immersive games that you can't just put down. Cappy brings a fun new mechanism into the game and the graphics are beautiful as always. There are so many kingdoms to visit and Nintendo encourages it - you'll find tons of secrets lying around for those willing to explore to the fullest.

This is the closest we have been to Super Mario 64, since the Nintendo 64 launched. The open feeling, the exploration, the collectibles all line up most closely with that previous entry. I'd say the platforming is as crisp and enjoyable as 3D Land on the 3DS. It is a superior Mario title, one of the best in years, making it a superior video game period. Great for all ages, great for Switch owners, and great for the industry.

This game is awesome me and my 5 yo play it all the time. Even after beating a level when replayinging it you find more to unlock well worth the money.

What can I say about this game that hasn't been said already? It's an amazingly beautiful game to look at, easy to learn and understand, but there is so much to explore and collect. Mario is always transforming into something new so the game never gets old. Once you beat it, the fun just started as you can go back and find all sorts of collectibles and coins, etc. It's a great game, I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Odyssey is a fun game and still finds a way to do new things with Mario in his search for Princess Peach. The worlds are different and offer challenges throughout them. The boss battles are entertaining. The game looks great and being able to throw you hat or take control of other characters is another fun aspect. Overall a real fun game.

I'm one of those guys who doesn't appreciate paying $60 for a digital copy. I took advantage if Black Friday and was not disappointed. This game is an early Switch release, but provides loads if fun. Controls are responsive and Marios moves are great fun when holding a joycon in each hand.

Re-purchased this for my Switch 2. Easily the greatest 3D Mario game. Switch 2 picture and framerate improvements really boost the experience and make a 5 star game easily 6 stars!

If you own a switch and don’t own this game, do yourself a favor, stop reading this and click buy.
Mario Odyssey had me smiling the entire time I played from the moment I turned it on to the moment I beat it. It is beautifully designed and plays homage to Mario games of the past.
Think of it as Mario 64 for a modern age but that doesn’t even do it justice. This game is a must own and worth buying a switch for.

One of my favorite Nintendo Switch games and probably one of the best games on the Switch. This game is for everyone including kids and adults. I had a lot of fun playing through the game to the ending, and there is still a lot more to do with collecting moons and just overall exploring. Highly recommended.

I've found past 3D Mario games to be frustrating because I always felt like managing their cameras was more difficult than the gameplay itself. Super Mario Odyssey plays as smoothly as one would expect for a modern 3D platformer, which by itself puts it at the top of the 3D Mario pack. However, I just didn't feel like there was much of a challenge to it. I'm by no means a "hardcore gamer" when it comes to platformers; my skills are average at best. But I blew through this game very quickly and haven't felt particularly compelled to return to it for the extra collectibles and what not that I missed the first time around. It's a great game for younger kids who might be getting their first Mario experience, but somewhat lacking for adult gamers.

If you loved Super Mario 64, you will have a great time with Odyssey. You can play solo or with a friend! Yes, 2-player adventure! My sister and I played the heck out of this game and had the most fun trying to solve puzzles on each kingdom to get as many moons as we could. I absolutely missed the good old super mario world and 64 days and odyssey has truly made me feel nolstagic. Pick it up if you're a mario fan!

Don't know where to start, this game is phenomenal. An open world feel with lots of exploration to pass the time. Great story line with all the memorable characters one expects to meet in a Mario game. Add amiibo and the ride gets that much better. Definitely a nuance in modern gaming with a splash of just enough nostalgia to tug at any diehard Mario fanboy or girls heart. 10/10 for me and I'm sure for you too.

Super Mario Odyssey is nostalgic fun. It’s a way better version of Super Mario 64 without the terrible camera. This game is fun, beautiful, and super light hearted. I had a smile the whole time playing it. There are some challenging parts, but they are optional.

I just completed the story mode of Super Mario Odyssey, and not only is it the greatest Mario game I have ever played, but it is also one of the best video games I have ever played. The gameplay is not unnecessarily difficult, and the plot is so creative, which makes the game even more fun to play. There is still so much more to do after finishing the story, and I can't wait to see what's next.

I have been playing this game for 10 hrs, never been to big on mario before but i am really enjoying my time just exploring everything because there is a lot of hidden stuff and its done very clever like. My only issue with it is the motion controls. There are a several moves that are either easier to perform or completely locked behind them, but most of these moves dont register right with split joycons, only controllers i have. I mostly play in hanheld mode which actually works better for the motion controls but who likes to shake the screen they are playing on. Most annoying part is that the dpad left and down dont really do anything, both bumpers juat recenter the camera, and 2 of the right joycon buttons are just do the same function as the other 2 so there is no reason for there to be no alternatives for the motion controls but they didnt bother to use them like that.

I watch some reviews on some gaming websites, they rated it high but I always take that with a grain of salt..... this game really plays really well, has great elements added from the original Super Mario Brothers, as well as going back the the style of Super Mario 64, along with the more recent games like Mario Sunshine... they really did a great job on it! Highly recommended.
I’m hooked!
