Anyone who played Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy has been waiting for Nintendo to release a Mario game like this. It's fun for all ages, it pays homage to classic platforming and really lives up to the hype! This, along with Zelda Breath of the Wild, is a game that would make you want to buy a Nintendo Switch if you haven't already.

Light-hearted adventure that can be as easy (assist mode) or challenging (post-credits) as one desires - anyone could find enjoyment out of this game. You can complete the main story in a (long) day, or play in small chunks over months. Great graphics, humor, and creative scenarios and locations to explore throughout the game.

I've played a lot of Mario games and this one is by far my favorite, even more than Super Mario Galaxy. Easy enough for someone who has never played a Mario game before but challenging enough for people who have played every Mario installment. Great for kids and adults.

Mario Odyssey is a great game that brings me back to playing Super Mario on my SNES. They have added a new twist with the story version and I love the added hat features. They didn't cut any corners when making this game with fun additions like changing Mario's outfit for each world he is in. Highly recommend this game!

It is a joy to play to get to go all across the world it is pretty cool that you can throw your hat on anything in the game and become any character that you want to be like frogs dinosaurs anything the game so you're how to become that character has a really neat feature I love this game and so does my son best money I spent

This is as good as it gets -- Nintendo has taken the franchise to new heights. The game has a vast world to explore and abilities to master. My kids have been sucked in all week... one of them actually beat Bowser only to find that there is even more content waiting to be discovered. If you have a Switch, this is a must have.

Sandbox Mario in the spirit of the N64 days, this gem is immersive, clever, and massive. I played mostly in portable mode, which allows the game to be so much more casual, although motion controls are much more difficult than when docked (I wish Nintendo would move past motion control nonsense completely). Highly replayable.

This game is not only the best game this year, but also the best Mario game of all time. The kingdoms are perfectly sized playgrounds for the great movement system and new "capture" feature introduced. There is a ton of content packed into each world and there are extra incentives to keep playing even after beating the game.

Mario arrives on Switch and he's never looked or played better. The gameplay harkens back to the exceptional "Mario Galaxy" games on Wii as well as the original 3D Mario game, "Super Mario 64". There's so much to do in the game, so many areas to explore. You'll keep playing just to see what may lie around the next corner.

We bought the Nintendo Switch and two games, one being Super Mario Odyssey. My two girls love the game. The graphics are great, it is very playable, even for the 7 year old, and they are having a blast playing it. I haven't had a chance to play the game myself, but I have watched a good of the game with my daughters.

The game is highly modeled after and definitely the spiritual successor to Super Mario 64. It feels just like SM64 except with refined camera and movement. The new Cappy really is icing on the cake! My Wife has found all 999 moons and fully completed the game. Hundreds of hours of play here.

Pros
Tons of powerups
Boss fights are great. They're tough enough for just about anyone to enjoy.
Lots of stuff left to do once you beat the story.
Great graphics on the big screen and in handheld mode.
File size isn't as big as you'd think (5.6 gigs), so you'll have tons of space left on your switch if you download it.

Awesome game with a lot of new features. It’s great to see Mario on the next gen console from Nintendo, with an all new story and all new abilities with his hat. A great 3D adventure worth playing over and over, for folks of all ages.

This is an amazing game. As a kid I had played Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 and it was one of my favorite childhood memories. Playing this game brought back a wave of nostalgia and fond memories of my past. I greatly recommend this game to anyone who grew up in the 90’s that spent many nights playing the Nintendo 64.
