If you loved Super Mario 64, you will have a great time with Odyssey. You can play solo or with a friend! Yes, 2-player adventure! My sister and I played the heck out of this game and had the most fun trying to solve puzzles on each kingdom to get as many moons as we could. I absolutely missed the good old super mario world and 64 days and odyssey has truly made me feel nolstagic. Pick it up if you're a mario fan!

I've found past 3D Mario games to be frustrating because I always felt like managing their cameras was more difficult than the gameplay itself. Super Mario Odyssey plays as smoothly as one would expect for a modern 3D platformer, which by itself puts it at the top of the 3D Mario pack. However, I just didn't feel like there was much of a challenge to it. I'm by no means a "hardcore gamer" when it comes to platformers; my skills are average at best. But I blew through this game very quickly and haven't felt particularly compelled to return to it for the extra collectibles and what not that I missed the first time around. It's a great game for younger kids who might be getting their first Mario experience, but somewhat lacking for adult gamers.

Don't know where to start, this game is phenomenal. An open world feel with lots of exploration to pass the time. Great story line with all the memorable characters one expects to meet in a Mario game. Add amiibo and the ride gets that much better. Definitely a nuance in modern gaming with a splash of just enough nostalgia to tug at any diehard Mario fanboy or girls heart. 10/10 for me and I'm sure for you too.

One of my favorite Nintendo Switch games and probably one of the best games on the Switch. This game is for everyone including kids and adults. I had a lot of fun playing through the game to the ending, and there is still a lot more to do with collecting moons and just overall exploring. Highly recommended.

I just completed the story mode of Super Mario Odyssey, and not only is it the greatest Mario game I have ever played, but it is also one of the best video games I have ever played. The gameplay is not unnecessarily difficult, and the plot is so creative, which makes the game even more fun to play. There is still so much more to do after finishing the story, and I can't wait to see what's next.

Hands down a must-play if you own a Nintendo Switch. Takes full advantage of the Switch's hardware in both its gameplay and presentation. Even if you suck at platformers, give this a chance.

Super Mario Odyssey is nostalgic fun. It’s a way better version of Super Mario 64 without the terrible camera. This game is fun, beautiful, and super light hearted. I had a smile the whole time playing it. There are some challenging parts, but they are optional.

This game is awesome me and my 5 yo play it all the time. Even after beating a level when replayinging it you find more to unlock well worth the money.

I have been playing this game for 10 hrs, never been to big on mario before but i am really enjoying my time just exploring everything because there is a lot of hidden stuff and its done very clever like. My only issue with it is the motion controls. There are a several moves that are either easier to perform or completely locked behind them, but most of these moves dont register right with split joycons, only controllers i have. I mostly play in hanheld mode which actually works better for the motion controls but who likes to shake the screen they are playing on. Most annoying part is that the dpad left and down dont really do anything, both bumpers juat recenter the camera, and 2 of the right joycon buttons are just do the same function as the other 2 so there is no reason for there to be no alternatives for the motion controls but they didnt bother to use them like that.

I watch some reviews on some gaming websites, they rated it high but I always take that with a grain of salt..... this game really plays really well, has great elements added from the original Super Mario Brothers, as well as going back the the style of Super Mario 64, along with the more recent games like Mario Sunshine... they really did a great job on it! Highly recommended.
I’m hooked!

This year has been a monster year for high quality video games and even with a crowded field of contenders, Super Mario Odyssey may be the best game yet.
Mario games have routinely scored high for gameplay and this iteration is no slouch. The cap-tossing and entity-possessing mechanics are a breeze and incredible fun. Each "level" is shaped more like a Super Mario 64 world, with multiple objectives (Power Moons) in the same - very large - world. It's up to the player to puzzle out some of the harder, less-obvious solutions to capture many of these moons. It's a ton of fun, with a very smooth challenge...most moons are not hard to retrieve, but there are enough tricky ones to tempt the 100% completionist.
The graphics are wonderful! Colorful, vivid and imaginative in both the background, the worlds themselves and structures therein and the huge variety of monsters and friendly NPCs. This really shows off the Switch's power and color palette much the way Super Mario World did for the SNES all those years ago.
The music is typical Mario fare - which is say generally upbeat and fitting to each world to convey a sense of immersion. It's no Lord of the Rings symphony but very pleasant nonetheless.
I've greatly enjoyed this game: the length, challenge ramp and joy of playing are exceptional and if you own a Switch, just buy it. If you don't own a Switch...maybe you should.

This is about as perfect as a Mario game can get. It’s everything I’ve wanted since Mario 64 and more. It pulls from every proper Mario title mechanically while feeling wholly new. And keeping pace with the latest Zelda, it expands upon the genre of open world games. There’s barely any “quests,” instead inviting the player to explore and discover new platform adventures. An absolute delight.

This game is very entertaining for my son; it's the second one I've bought him because he lost the first one and he missed it. Since it was on sale , I gave it to him for Christmas.

I haven't played anything Super Mario since, Smash on 64, and nothing story based since Super Mario Brothers on my Super Nintendo. I had bought a Switch just to play Zelda, but got this game so my dad and I could play together. Well, I ended up playing it all by myself, and am LOVING it. The story line is fun, slightly repetitive, but the different worlds offer awesome variety.

I was really looking forward to this game, and it definitely didn't disappoint! There is so much to do in each "kingdom" as well as so many characters to capture with your new friend 'Cappy'. Great graphics, gameplay, music... I had so much fun with everything. Nintendo is really knocking it out of the park this year with the release of 'Breath of the Wild' and now this masterpiece.

Mario 3D masterpiece. The nostalgia this game has given me starting out is incredible. The flow of movement is fantastic and the timeless graphics will allow it to last for many years. All the sights and sounds of a Mario and you get to chuck your hat in an oddly satisfying way and things.

One of the best Mario games ever. Brings back the nostalgia of Super Mario 64, but 64 still did it better. Go from Kingdom to Kingdom collect power moons not stars and dress Mario in silly outfits save the princess and maybe get a kiss on the nose and get a cake. Love this game and though controls were hard to pick up at first they are like muscle memory once you get them down.

This game is one of the best mario games along with other super mario bros games. Like most Mario games, it’s an exploration game to find moons and power up the ship thing to rescue peach from bowser. The story concept is pretty much the same for all Mario games but the graphics has gotten much better.
