We still play Mario on our Super Nintendo. This is an amazing game with an open world concept and great graphics.

Kids and I have been having a lot of fun playing this game. In fact, we finished the main story and are going back to get as many missing "moons" as we can. As the dad I enjoy playing as Cappy helping the kids who play as Mario. Great puzzles and not punishing if you make mistakes as it only costs you ten coins to be back in the action (does not have the traditional number of lives...as long as you have coins you are back an unlimited number of times). Highly recommend!

I remember the feeling of playing Mario Bros for the first time on the NES. Getting Yoshi in Super Mario. Loading Mario 64 and thinking the 3D world was incredible. Mario Odyssey gives the same sensation. The gameplay is great, graphics are beautiful and the game is clever. Motion Controls are unfortunately necessary but hardly detract from the experience. I've only put in a few hours so far but I'm excited to put in more time. This game will be a classic. It's obvious.

It took me a couple worlds to really "get into" the game, but once I did it became seriously addictive. The semi-open-world style of being able to go after moons in any order and collect one after another without having to return to the level's start point each time is a welcome change to the Mario franchise. I also love that the game is instantly accessible to new players, yet seasoned gamers have found ways to make it super-challenging (speed runs, crazy jumps, etc).

Nintendo has done it again taking their beloved plumber and once again reworking him into the current time on their newest hardware. I remember when Super Mario 64 blew my mind upon release in 1996 with the then current technology. This game is no different seeing my replaced mind is once again blown with the free-roaming exploration-based levels. The story with Mario and Cappy is a sweet one as they go on their journey throughout the Mushroom Kingdom.

This is one of those games that everyone should get on the Switch. If you're a SMB fan, and don't get this, then you are missing a LOT! Mario's hat used as a weapon, lots of new moves, and it's the first open-world Mario game! Some people may not like that, as taking the rails off this genre may not feel right. I suggest watching a few letsplay videos, just to make sure.
One warning - it's addicting!!! :)

Nintendo gets it right again. I know the Switch isn't the most powerful console on the market. I own a PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, and the Switch is far behind in terms of raw power; however, one thing they get right are their flagship titles and Super Mario Odyssey is no exception. The game looks great, plays smooth, and is a blast to play. Regardless if you are a Nintendo / Mario fan or not, this title is worthy of a play through. Another masterpiece of the Big N!

For me, this game is up there with Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Galaxy. The controls are sharp and intuitive and there's tons of content in the game. The only potential downside is that it's not a very challenging game. I wouldn't have minded having some more difficult portions for late game moon collecting but the game is so fun as it is, and it's not overly easy, that I don't mind moving to another game if I want a real challenge.
