I haven't been consumed by a Mario game in a long time. This game is pure magic. It's a bit quirky, and the mechanics (at first) can seem daunting, but it is just so much fun. I never thought purchasing clothes for Mario (with in game currency) would be so much fun. And changing into a TRex is a definite high point. If you have a Switch, buy this game, if you don't have a Switch, buy a Switch and then buy this game, it's that good.

Super fun game, feels like a first person RPG and is quite addictive. Family friendly, and I'd suggest adding the mode that shows you arrows and offers help so you (or the kids) don't get lost. This is my favorite Mario game hands down and there are tons of little tricks and things to explore in the game. I feel like I could play this for years!

Even after beating the game multiple times, the exploration, the collecting, the music, the adventure, it all keeps him coming back. I loved watching my son learn to perform more and more complex maneuvers and find hidden collectibles. A classic, unforgettable Mario adventure.

My last time playing a large world Mario game was Mario 64. This one captures the same nostalgia I had for that game and it adds some fun and interesting ideas. A majority of the new features comes from Cappy your companion who allows you to control Mario's enemies.
All the maps I have played so far have been extremely vibrant and unique. There are also fun little side events where it goes back to the old 8-bit days.

Super Mario Odyssey is a must have game for the Switch. It's hard to put down, but easy to play in short bursts and really take advantage of the portability of the console. There's a lot to do, and it all controls relatively well, and has the polish expected of Nintendo. This feels like the return to Mario 64 and Sunshine that I'd personally been wanting for some time, with the Galaxy games not quite scratching that itch for me.

This game is amazing. As someone who prefers the open worlds of Mario 64 over the more linear Mario Galaxy games, this game is a breath of fresh air. I still give Mario 64 the edge since this game has much more exploration, but many people would say that's a plus as opposed to a negative. And even though I rate it as a negative, the game is still amazing, runs great in both handheld mode and TV mode, and it's 5 out of 5 for me.

First Breath of the Wilde and now Mario Odyssey. This is easily the best Mario game or even platformer ever crafted. If you're a fan of the genre, just love Mario games, or want something awesome to play for your Switch that isn't one of great games already available for the system this is the way to go. There's tons to do, the game play and controls are tight, and the game is a visual joy. If you have a Switch, get this game.

This is a great Mario game for all ages. I haven’t played a Mario game in quite a while and this brought me back with all of the old 8-bit Mario throwbacks. My only criticism is that this is truly just a one-player game. Two-player mode requires someone to be Mario’s hat, which.. does nothing useful and is no fun.
