This game is as close to a masterpiece you can get. It’s a serious fan service and callback to the 3D platformer collectethon. Now here are just a few nitpicks: the games post game moon hunting becomes kind of tedious with all the same kinds of objectives they throw at you, just in different worlds. And there are so many moons, that it lessens the good feeling that collecting a shine or a star would give in the older games. Those are just small opinionated complaints. But this game is tooooo good to pass up. Even if it means buying a switch for this game.

As a lifelong player, and fan, of Nintendo games, Mario is someone I feel is a part of my life. As such, every time Nintendo re-introduces Mario and his world to us through a new set of eyes, there is never a time where disappointment or betrayal is experienced. Mario engages in adventure after adventure and takes us all along with him. Those who are hugely reminiscent of Super Mario 64 and enjoyed the splendor of Super Mario Galaxy can rest assured and find comfort in the marriage of both of those titles found in the union known as Super Mario Odyssey.

So, I played Mario 64 to death when it came out. I played... most of Mario Sunshine. Galaxy I've dabbled with. There's no denying the diminishing returns, at least for me, in the 3D Mario games.
This one takes literally everything good about all of those games, and even the too-often maligned Mario 3D World, and pulls them into an amazing game instantly worthy of classic status. Doesn't matter if it's your first Mario game or if, like me, you've been playing since you got your first NES. This game is perfect for new players and classic fans.

The title says it all. Ive played almost all of the 3D Mario games and this is my favorite for sure. The levels, gameplay, and overall polish is perfect. When the last time you saw a glitch, etc. in a Mario game? Im sure they are out there, but few and far between. Anyway this along with BOTW are games people buy consoles for. Its what led me to get my Switch, which then led to so many other great games. My only wish for this game would be MORE! Some DLC maybe? Anyway if you enjoy Mario this is a game you must get!

Another Nintendo console generation has arrived - and so has the famous plumber (erm... I think they ditched that recently...). As always - this is a masterfully crafted experience, that is absolutely gorgeous - and sounds equally as good. From forest areas, to sand worlds to even an ice paradise - this game looks great - and shows off what Nintendo's latest hardware can do. The game play is the tried and true Mario formula - but it is ramped up with all of the new Cappy abilities. This game is platforming perfection and comes highly recommended.

This isn't your normal Mario 2d platformer as it is a 3d platformer with a semi-open world adventurer game! It has been a lot of fun playing this game as it includes some cool moves Mario can input. The different world settings are also visually pleasing with the addition of awesome characters you'll meet along the way! Because of the game being a semi-open world, I would reccomend playing this game docked on a tv with a controller as it makes the experience much better in my opinion.
