I originally purchased this with the intent of acquiring another safe game to play with my toddler. Surprisingly, I’ve found myself deeply impresssed with its polished, high quality art/animation and rewarding gameplay with a focus on exploration. The levels mix practical puzzles, nostalgia, and loads of extra discoverables against the backdrop of a fantastic music composition. I wholeheartedly recommend for anyone with a Switch and little extra time to pick this up and enjoy all it has to offer.

Super Mario Odyssey is hours and hours of fun. It is a callback to the Super Mario 64, where would run around vast levels and collect Power Stars by completing a levels missions to progress. With a focus on exploration and making each Power Moon a simple task, Odyssey is perfect for bit-sized play sessions or someone on the go. There's tons of platforming and puzzle solving and the game never got boring. There is so much to love and I am glad I had purchased Super Mario Odyssey.

There are tons of moons in the game. Many are easily accessible so young kids can progress through the game with struggling too much. For more experienced gamers who want a challenge, there are many harder to reach moons that are required to 100% complete the game. Co-op allows one player to control Mario and the other to control Cappy, Mario's companion who allows Mario to take control of various enemies including T-rexes or tanks each of which necessary to solve the many puzzles in the game.

This game gives me a sort of mixed play. It has new graphics that really unlock the digital world, especially on an Oled display. I really enjoy the game, but I think it would be best played by a teenager as my reflexes have slowed down at 52. I like that it has the old game in the puzzles on the wall while you come back to the world after you get to your objective. The game play is fun and exciting and I am sure this will bring joy to the nieces and nephews and hopefully grandkids one day.

This is that classic Mario experience that everyone loves. It follows the same basic elements as any core Mario game, but now you have a companion named Cappy who is quite literally Mario's hat. Cappy adds a lot to the game in different ways. Cappy expands Mario's moveset, especially in the air, allowing Mario much more maneuverability than in previous titles. Cappy also allows you to "capture" various enemies, utilizing their abilities/size to overcome obstacles you encounter during the game.

Highly recommended if you like platformers. Can be a bit challenging at times. If you really want a challenge, you should try to acquire all the moons. The controls aren't as tight as I would like. Many of my deaths were because of the controls, which can be a bit frustrating. Overall a good game though.

Super Mario Odyssey is a game that will be remembered forever. Everything you loved about Mario 64 is represented here, but on a much larger scale. The worlds are beautifully crafted and detailed. The enemies are challenging and very different from world to world. Some of the Power Moons that you need to get are easy and some are much more thought provoking and challenging to get a hold of. This game is absolutely the best Mario game to ever come out. Worth every penny and second of your time.

So far, it's a lot of fun. This game marks a return to open-world format like Mario 64 and Sunshine vs individual levels. I like the change, which accompanies Zelda's change this generation and I also think it will make for good speed run routing in the future.
The graphics are great, the amount of things you can control is a lot, so much so that you just end up trying everything. Co-op mode feels a lot like Sonic 2 where Player 2 (Cappy / Tails) is OP and invincible and does all the work.
