Mario is a such a classic, I usually pick up the new games when I can. This game has those nostalgic feels of Mario 64. So much fun to be had

I'm 28 and this game brings back memories of when I was 9-10 years old and was playing Super Mario 64. The game is beautiful in art design (especially on an OLED TV) and extremely fun to play. I actually enjoyed this game more than I did with BOTW. 2017 was a great year for Nintendo. If you ever enjoyed playing Mario then you need to do yourself a favor and get this game. The last Mario game that I ever played was Super Mario 64 (yes, it's been a while).

I have enjoyed this game since I’ve started playing it. I had some reservations about the game because I thought some of the video and advertising looked cheesy. I’m glad that I was wrong.
The game has been fun to explore. There are so many hidden objectives to find. I feel that this game could keep you actively searching for moons, a collectible item in the game, for a while.
I would recommend this game for any Nintendo Switch owner. It’s a must have.

This game is a must have. From the start, this game is a delight - you'll be glued to the game, smile on face. There are parts of Mario that are very familiar - collect Moons, get to Bowser so on and on. The twist here is the constant change in game mechanics - you become a frog, become a tank, become a Cheep Cheep (the jumping fish, remember?) and even go 2D. It's like a collection of mini-games, but without feeling disconnected or jarring. Run, don't walk.

I remember when I first played N64, seeing mario in 3d for the first time and the wonder it brought. This gave me the same feeling for the first time in a long time. Other 3d Marios have been excellent in their own right, but Galaxy's incredible control scheme frees Mario to explore without fighting against the controller or camera. The amount of content is also spectacular, and is only increasing with additional downloads that Nintendo's releasing.

You like Mario - you know you do. Maybe the stories, the old 2d versions, the open world versions, the gimmicks that were introduced to make a new one just a bit different than the last, maybe you like the puzzles or even hunting down every last <something>.
This game has it - yes ALL of that.
You are looking at this wondering if you need another Mario game, or if this will be as much fun as <insert mario game name here>. You do and it will be!

This is one of those games that everyone should get on the Switch. If you're a SMB fan, and don't get this, then you are missing a LOT! Mario's hat used as a weapon, lots of new moves, and it's the first open-world Mario game! Some people may not like that, as taking the rails off this genre may not feel right. I suggest watching a few letsplay videos, just to make sure.
One warning - it's addicting!!! :)

Mario has been extremely successful for so long thanks to its fantastic vibrant worlds, memorable level design, and charismatic characters. Having Mario return to a sandbox style game for the first time in 15 years is reinvigorating and something I've personally been waiting for for a very, very long time. Between this and Breath of the Wild, Nintendo will undoubtedly be fighting themselves for Game of the Year, and possibly game of this console generation.

For any fan of the series, I would absolutely recommend this game. If you prefer a more linear game, I might suggest trying Mario galaxy, but for anyone else, this is a must buy. The new hat mechanics are a welcomed edition and the graphics are phenomenal. While the game can be enjoyable alone, I would suggest playing through it with a friend because it’s an experience worth sharing. Regardless however, any switch owner should give this game a shot.

It's a Mario game, but it is very fun and can be challenging. But totally worth it. If you are a fan of Mario, you will be a fan of this game! The best part (so far) has been the character takeovers when you use the hat on enemies. Haven't played two player yet, so I can't give an opinion on that. And the other switch game that I own is breath of the wild so it's a good game to swap between if you need a mental break from either if your stuck on a quest.

This game looked awful to me. (I know I know, save your tomatoes) Its AMAZING!! I can't recommend this game enough. It's one of my favorite Mario games since Mario 64. It's so well done, and captures that magic of the older game so well. I got a switch on a Friday recently and this game, played it all weekend, got 364 Power Moons, and loved every minute of it. There are 880 in total, and I plan on getting them all. The game is an absolute blast.
