Super Mario Odyssey really is one of the best games for the Switch. The controls and overall playability are just excellent, but that’s a given with Nintendo, isn’t it? It was a great visit to nostalgia with references to the original Super Mario on NES incorporated into the gameplay.
Kids and adult will enjoy it with hours and hours of gameplay. You can even continue playing after the end as well!

This is one of the best games I have ever played and I've been gaming since the NES back in the very early 90s as a 4 year old. This lives up to the hype and having to wait so many years in between Mario games has always been worth it.
I'm more excited to play the game every time I pick it up than I was the last time. It's that good of a game. Great mechanics, great game play and graphic and a bunch of great nods to the classic Mario games.

This game is so much fun! It's difficult enough to be a good challenge but not so hard that it's frustrating. Nintendo consistently makes games that walk the line between chaos and finely-tuned control. The mechanics are perfectly balanced and the game has so many fun little features and details. This is a nigh-perfect game that provides hours and hours of gameplay.

Ever since I got my Nintendo Switch and finished Zelda, I've been waiting for SMO to come out. Once I got my hands on the game and dove in, I was completely blown away by how amazing it was! The graphics, the control, the ability to stop in the middle of the game to take care of things and jump right back in. I loved Mario 64, and this game takes everything amazing about that game, intensifies it, and gives it a nice polish for this generation

I can honestly say, my experience has been beyond enjoyable with Mario Odyssey. Its basically a graphically juiced up Mario 64 that can be played handheld. I mean, what more could you ask for? I'm about 40% done with the game and I keep finding myself going back to complete tasks that I left behind before finishing the story in the game. Its as addictive and joyful as the previous iterations of Mario. I love it!
10/10 across the board.

Fantastic game, loads of stuff to collect and plenty challenging enough for a quick run through an area. Good laughs and set design on each planet along with costume changes that are purely cosmetic (unless you're unlocking further progress, but still.) Not recommended to play on a switch lite due to the joycon twirls being pretty useful but it can be done.

I have played about 10 hours and I'm really enjoying this game. It has an open game feel that allows you to choose to an extend how you want to play...very fast or slow exploring mode. I like how the amiibos are incorporated into the game too. Amiibos will do minor hings, such as skin/costume changes to giving coins or hearts. The mechanics are smooth and polished as you would expect from a Mario franchise game. A must for any Switch player.

I prefer my Mario games to be 2D side scrollers. The 3D games tend to get boring and repetitive by having you explore a particular area/world searching for hidden objects to progress to the next stage. This game has that same gameplay mechanic. Bowser kidnaps Peach again and this time is planning on marrying her. You’re chasing him around the globe and at each stop you have to find a certain number of moons to power your ship to go on to the next area. There are a lot of things that keep the gameplay fresh. You have a magic hat that allows you to possess various enemies and creatures in the world you’re exploring. There’s also warp pipes that transform to the original 2D Mario. The puzzles can be creative. There are many more moons in each area than you are required to collect so you can spend as much time as you want and pick your own path. Each location has a store where you can trade coins that you collected for various outfits. It’s impossible not to have fun playing this game.

Hours of fun! I like the option of two player. However I wish two player was actually two players. Instead one player is the hat and the other player is Mario. It can get close to impossible to play with two players if you don't work together and communicate. This is basically a one player game. Kids don't work that well together when playing a video game.

Mario Odyssey is fun and imaginative. It really shines in bringing a sense of wonder and letting you experience it all yourself. The story is practically nonexistent but that’s not why you play Mario games in the first place!
