This game really hit the spot for the nostalgia I had playing SM64. This game is the perfect mix of retro and new age mechanics in the Mario Universe. While some of the boss fights are pretty repetitive, the level designs are amazing and incredible fun for hours on end. I cannot wait to play more.

I bought Super Mario Odyssey because my wife always enjoyed Mario games. This one was no different. Conquering all of the different worlds and finding every last power moon was a great experience for us. I honestly enjoyed watching her play the game and only stepping in when she was stuck trying to complete a timed challenge or a series of jumps that she found difficult.
This game is not the hardest in the series. You can die(and will die) A LOT - however, there are checkpoints in numerous locations so you never really have to start over(aside from one level WAAAAY at the end). Now if you collect a certain amount of Power Moons you can open additional worlds after you beat the game and these worlds offer a much more difficult experience that will keep those looking for a tougher challenge in toe.
Overall a great game, we have beaten the game and the additional worlds(which the last one took me a solid 10 minutes and uses all of your abilities you learn in the game - if you die during this level, you start all over).

My favorite is still Galaxy, but this game is a close second. Large explorable levels give a feeling of openness that hasn’t existed before. Replay ability is very high...being able to keep exploring levels after completing the game. It is new, yet very familiar. If you like Mario, it is a must have.

Super Mario Odyssey is the best 3D Mario since Mario 64. The game offers as little or as much challenge as you would like, catering to both beginners and challenge-lovers. The game looks great, both docked and undocked, and runs like a dream. Don't let this game be missing from your Switch library!

I bought this in the past for my older son. He enjoyed it and then sold it at an older age. My younger son now has the switch and I bought it for his birthday. He seems to like it.

Haven't played it toooo much but played the first 2 levels.
It's a fun game for Single player, i know it says it's 2 players but there's really nothing the second player does as all they do it control the hat.
Would recommend as a single player campaign.

This not Galaxy 3 but it may as well be! Galaxy was my favorite Mario series and this is right there with it and may even surpass it. So much to do and see! Explore EVERYWHERE! You will be rewarded! Gameplay and graphics are also extremely polished. Overall the definition of what Nintendo does best

Mario Odyssey is the best Mario game that has ever come out in my opinion. This game is fun for the whole family. If you're looking for your first Switch game I would recommend Breath of the Wild over Mario Odyssey, but both are great games and should absolutely be included in your Switch library,

Mario Odyssey may not be your favorite Mario game but it sure tries to be. It takes a thing from each point of the Mario history and mix it up. With a lot from 64 and Mario Galaxy, the mechanics are the best so far and graphics too. Lots of content and hidden things for those hardcore gamers!

Nintendo's first "killer app" for the Switch—Zelda BOTW is subjectively the better game but is available for the Wii U—Mario Odyssey is the game that will move more Switches this holiday season anyone would have expected. Awesome gameplay from the mind of Miyamoto-san which should not be missed.

My wife wants this game band.... she says it has definitely interfered in her micromanage of my everyday activities.
This game will cause the following issues (but not limited to these).
Dishes will stay longer than usual in the sink
Trash will not get taken out at normal intervals
Dirty clothes will get left on the floor in the bathroom - not finding their ways to the laundry room on their own.
May cause blurred vision and sore fingers after hours of playing...
The only relief is the Switch battery does have to get charged after about 5 hours of straight gameplay
Overall, this is a great Mario game - even better than Mario Galaxy or Sunshine for me. It controls and plays great. I only play my Switch as a portable - so not sure how it looks on a TV, but it is PERFECT in handheld mode for me.
Also, having to "take over" other characters to solve the puzzles has added a lot to the overall challenges - even more so than I originally expected.
If you are a life long Mario fan like me - get this game.

This game is fantastic. It is the first game that I haven’t been able to put down for the Switch. The replay value is through the roof with new challenges showing up every time you go to a level and with multiple ways to control the game allows for full use of what the switch has to offer. 10/10!

My two sons received this game for Christmas and love it!
They have taken full advantage of their extra hours allowed on the system during the school break and play this game often. Even though they have already beat the main story mode, there is a lot of extra content to improve replay value.

This game is great! I get all the feelings I had playing Super Mario 64 when it came out. Motion controls feel good and the gameplay is fantastic. I would highly recommend this title.
I pre-ordered through Best Buy and it arrived at my house on the day of release. Item came in perfect condition.

Nintendo's newest Mario title is visually stunning with new and interesting controls that sets it apart from the previous games. The games story is very short and could be completed in day, but to get all of the collectibles and fully explore the worlds would likely take around 50 hours or more.

Coming into Super Mario Odyssey, I was skeptical if it would grip me. I've gotten older and thought I moved past the shine of the franchise; I was wrong.
Super Mario Odyssey has got call backs from a lot of Mario entries be it via levels, enemies, costumes, or abilities. The ability to capture enemies and control them is simple game changer, yet very diverse and smooth.
The story is minimalistic but it gets the job done. The world's you visit are all different and varied as you move with Cappy to rescue the princess and his sister. Each have a distinct theme and mechanics to progress and keep things fresh throughout. There are a ton of collectibles to find on each world as well which are both for progression and purchasing items.
The controls were butter smooth whether I used the joy cons or the pro controller. Controlling Mario has never been so smooth and fun, imo.
The switch has been doing great this year and Super Mario Odyssey around the holidays makes it a no trainer purchase this year.
