This game was my favorite from my SNES days, so this was an obvious day 1 purchase for me. This remake is done perfectly. The soundtrack is perfect, the combat is remade to be different but fun, and the game is faithful to its SNES predecessor. If you played the original, you NEED to play this. If you are a fan of RPGs, you NEED to play this.

For some might be a short game but for other it might be just the perfect combination of puzzles, an amazing story coupled with a good gameplay. If you add everything you will likely spend a good chunk of your time exploring (and enjoying) this game. I played the original version and I was happy to play this updated version to experience first hand how well this game has aged over the years. Give yourself a chance!

So glad to have finally played this game! I never played the original but the remake is so faithful to the original that it doesn't matter. It was weird having no voice acting or Nintendo grunting for the characters. Left a bit of cringe when there wasn't any dialogue. Nonetheless the gameplay was smooth and still had an old school feel. The action command in combat wasn't bad either. Had some anxiety during fights but that's what makes the game so much better! And, of course, how could I not mention the music? The composer of the Paper Mario series stepped in and did a fantastic job remastering the music. Especially “fight against an armed boss”. She made the song sound like it came straight out of a Mario and Luigi game that'd be made for switch. Thank you, Nintendo. And thank you Best Buy for delivering!

If you're a fan of the original SNES game like me, then you have to pick this up. Its a fantastic remake that stays surprisingly faithful to the original. I would almost go so far as to say its even better than the original. Even if you're not a fan of the RPG genre, i think you can still enjoy this one.

I feel like the experience for someone who’s never played this game before might be very different, but for folks who played the original this is like a hard-hitting dose of nostalgia wrapped up in a prettier blanket. Fun and charming with some minor QOL additions and super chibi graphics.

I never finished the original but couldn't wait yo get my hands on this remake and did not disappoint! The characters really made this game for me. Everyone has well written dialogue and stories behind them. The graphics are bright and colorful. The new score is an improvement on the original without losing the charm. Most of all the gameplay is so fun and engaging. I really love the way you can have different combinations of characters and the triple moves are so fun to watch. Definitely one of my favorite Mario and switch games ever.

This is the template on how you remake a game while staying true to the original and remaining fresh for new players, while exciting and surprising old players. Game mechanics stay the same while adding a new flare in the Triple Attack rewarded from successful timed attacks. Additionally, the updated graphics are gorgeous! This was one of my favorite games as a preteen, the remake is one of my favorites well into my 40’s. Fans of the originals, get this game! Those craving old-school turn based RPGs, get this game! Anyone casually interested, get this game!

I played the original over and over as a kid, and replaying now all these years later was a blast. I just wish it were longer, and they made it harder.

This game is a masterpiece. To hold Super Mario RPG in my hands, in beautiful HD with remade 3D graphics, enhanced gameplay, and a remade soundtrack (with the option to switch to the SNES original!) was enough to make me cry tears of joy. I cannot recommend this game enough— whether you’ve played hundreds of RPGs, or you’re thinking about trying the genre for the first time, Super Mario RPG will always be an excellent choice to pick up.

SNES version was my first rpg, I got this for my 7 year old. He absolutely loves it and it makes me feel so proud. Hasn't put it down since playing it. Its a must buy, this is a gem of a game. Music is phenomenal, amazing gameplay, and hilarious to.

Still remeber waking it up in christmas powering it up my SNES while having the OG Cartridge on. It was such a fun adventure, the worlds, amusing characters the vibrant music. The secret boss, which stop being not so secret boss. Overall this game brought back all those memories and expand it on it. With the small or big innovations they made for it. Great game and ride.

This is a gorgeous perfect remake of the classic legendary Super Mario RPG.. & it’s absolutely PERFECT in every way possible. The nostalgia level on this one for me is huge. I honestly still can’t believe they remade this title. Please support this game so they make more like it..

Classic game brought up to date. Cute art direction, great music, fun gameplay. For old school RPG fans and newcomers.

Mario Rpg is one of these oldie titles you played for hours leveling Mario and his Team, I personally love this game, unfortunately I got stuck and couldn't finish the gam when I was a Kid. If your a 90's Kid, you probably played this.

I watched my cousins play this game on the Snes when I was a kid, but never played it until now. The game looks pretty , the music is very good, and the story is basic mario stuff with twists here and there (not in a bad way, Ive played almost every 2D and 3D mario to date). The game play is fun (*Spoilers* - you are not battling all the time :P) but it gets repetitive after a while (maybe i'm getting old) I've played all the final fantasy games since 7 and that's my point of reference when comparing turn based RPGs like this one. Overall a good game but since the story its not the best aspect of this game Im giving it a 4.5

This game is an awesome remake of a classic snes game. It has improved graphics obviously, and it even has game mechanic improvements that makes it enjoyable to play even more so than the original snes game. This is game is worth purchasing its so much fun and takes you down memory lane!

If you enjoyed the original, this is a faithful remake that maintains everything that made the original wonderful, while adding some new quality of life features that I welcomed. It's a great way to preserve a piece of gaming history while making it accesible to new generations.

A wonder remake that pays homage the game that started my love affair with Japanese RPG’s.

Great remake,or really just upscaled and facelifted for the switch from the super Nintendo and it is marvelous . Really brought me nostalgia from my youth they did a fantastic job highly recommend.

The Super Mario Rpg Remake is a great revisiting of an already incredibly fun game. The remake has stayed faithful to the original while adding some nice quality of life improvements. The quirkiness of the story and characters always makes for an enjoyable play through.
