Movie was better than I expected...but what really blew me away was how good this bluray looks. Spectacular colors, no noise or grain....crystal clear picture. If all blurays looked like this, everyone would want one. If you have a new high def bluray setup and want to show your friends what it can do, highly recommend this movie.

    The Man of Steel Returns

Superman Returns is a bit different from other movies. There's not as much action as in other movies, and the fighting is toned down quite a bit. Nevertheless, this film soars. Why? Because the action has been replaced with an excellent story. Superman doesn't just have to save the world; he also has to win back Lois Lane, who has chosen to move on since Superman's departure. We get to see a hero's personal struggles in addition to his normal conflict with evil. Finally, by the end of the movie, we watch in awe as Superman performs an immense act of self-sacrifice. It left me breathless, and I ho[e it does the same to you. Go watch Superman Returns. Once again, you'll believe a man can fly.

Yes, the man of steel is back and ready to fight crime. The beloved villain Lex Luthor is a classic evil genius that's rarely ever seen in other comic books. I only wished Superman killed Luthor or did he?

Over-all, this had some good action, and occasional humor. Acting was pretty good, so I though this was a Okay movie. I would recommend it because I did find it entertaining. Not the best, but not Bad!

    Not Too Bad

Okay, I'll admit that the bullet in the Eye was great cinema. Other than that I was underwhelmed. Maybe I missed the Super that C. Reeves brought to the part of Superman. Or the horrendous nerdiness that Reeves brought to Clark. Mr. Routh seemed just a bit too dorky as Superman, and a bit too cool as Clark. It wasn't a one or a two though, because, despite all of it's pitfalls, this is Superman, and it could have been worse, it could have been "Superman: The Quest for Peace".

Old fan of the boy in blue. This movie had the potential to disappoint but it came through in the end and made the entire thing worth watching. The sequel has a lot of room for growth

    Not So Super After All...

I was really disappointed in the performances offered up by the actors and the writers of this movie. While some of the visuals and effects are good, the same can't be said about the overall execution and acting of the film. I was expecting a release that, at the least, lived up to the cheesy old versions of "Superman". If it weren't for all the new aged effects and Kevin Spacey as the infamous "Lex Luthor", "Superman Returns" wouldn't have anything on the previous releases. The plot serves up the same basic story-line as always, but with a couple minor new twists that have no effect on the inevitable "no-surprises here" ending. Overall, I wouldn't suggest seeing this film unless you are an absolute Superman fanatic.

I wonder how they pick superman? They are always so handsome. The hot guy in tights is back! This movie had lots of suspense and action. I had a blast watching this movie. It was the best superman movie I have ever seen. Superman Returns was great and I hope they make another superman movie soon.

Desent movie, but did not live up to its hype. I was hoping for some really cool fighting scenes but did not get it. This is more of a drama where Lois Lane is with somebody else! Worth seeing but not worth seeing again.

    Mehman Returns

In 2006, Superman returned to the screen. Without any major action sequences aside from a airplane rescue, the film is actually rather dull, substituting the super for meh.

I really don't think that Kate Bosworth was the best choice for the role of Lois lane,it could have made a big difference if it had a better leading lady, but the other cast members are fine.Kevin Spacey as the evil Lex Luthor falls more into his role as the movie goes deeper. The action seemed to be a little slow at times, and the ending was not all it's cracked up to be.

    Garbage in a plastic case

As a home theater sales associate who has had to watch this movie every day, not only is the plot unimaginitive, the special effects mediocre and the acting sub-par but this is also the worst looking blu-ray I have ever seen. I've watched in on a 55" Samsung LED, a Mitsubishi DLP and a Panasonic 46" Plasma and on every TV there is lousy edge clarity, ghosting and blur on top of the special FX that look like they were produced by a bunch of art school students. I highly recommend not buying this blu-ray.

Hate what they did to the Superman

I grew up on Superman. Watched the TV series, and bought the comic books. Christopher Reeve did a good job considering his movies had garbage plots (1 & 2-were good). This movie had Supeman going back to see if Krypton was there. It was destroyed, that's why his parents sent him in a rocket! This costume looked too plastic, dull and drab. To top this garbage plot line off, he has a child with Lois Lane! They ruined a great icon. They could have made this a great epic, like the Marvel success stories.

Big Hype, But Not Worth the Wait

Superman Returns just plain and simple sucks. The only thing that is good in this movie is Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther, and of course the ending. The chemisty between the two leading actors are non-existence, and you really don't care about anybody. To top everything off, Superman is a baby daddy...Are you serious. Sorry if I runnied the movie for anyone that hasn't seen it, but that's too crazy to have Superbaby Daddy

Very dark, boring movie - I get the plot...could have been a 30 minute TV show. The actors were lifeless and dull, no REAL vengeance. Blu-Ray quality...so-so. Buy the standard def for $9 somewhere. Better yet - don't!
