    Much Less Than Advertised

I love to hunt, and my age doesn't let me climb those hills like I used to, so this looked like a great way to play some of the great hunting games now available, like Cabela's Dangerous Game 2009 (VERY exciting!) The Wii remote and nunchuck are poor substitutes for a real rifle however, and the lions were killing me, literally! (Well not really, but when the screen goes red, it raises the pressure of what blood you have left!) My review is based on 50 years of actual shooting and hunting. I also happen to be an engineer and near computer geek, owning one of the very first personal computers, and using them daily since. And yes, I can hold my own with most of the kids on the games, if I decide a particular game is worth some of my leisure time. Assembly was only fair, as the pieces do not fit together well, and the covers don't snap closed properly. The nunchuck only semi fits in its slot. You're not sure if it really goes like the instructions show, even when it's together. The fit of the stock is poor, not allowing you to use the sights correctly. It's probably OK for kids or those who have never fired a real rifle, but is a very poor emulation of the real thing. Worst however, when it was assembled, MOST of the time it would not trigger the game. In other words, the lions killed me many more times than when I was just using the Wii remote and nunchuck. In fact in nearly an hour of trying to make it all work, using several different controllers, I never got past the second lion. I returned it for a refund. The good news is that Best Buy didn't quibble at all. Therefore I give the design and comfort a 1. It appears to be relatively tough, but no way to really tell, so the 2 for durability. That left a 1 for value for price and overall rating. Wish it were better, but it just isn't.

I purchased the Wii Sure Shot for my husband, along with the Call of Duty game. He will be very happy and surprised on Christmas morning. He loves shooting games, I am sure he will have many hours of fun with it. Great idea.
