Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the PB16-Ultra Subwoofer's exceptional sound quality across various volume levels, praising its powerful performance. However, some customers note that its substantial size and weight may pose challenges for certain users. The powerful bass response is a highlight for many, though the physical dimensions are a recurring point of discussion.

I had a Polk Audio sub that faithfully served me for years, and a few months ago it decided that enough was enough and poof - dead. I replaced it with what I thought was an excellent sub - the Definitive Technology SuperCube 4000. That sub was nice for what it was, good bass in a small package. However when I watched Wonder Woman 1984 at the bass level I wanted - it couldn't make it to the 1.25 hour mark without cutting out badly. Believe me, when you spend $$$ you don't want to be disappointed but that's what I was - disappointed. So - returned it and bought the SVS PB4000. Really, this subwoofer has no equal. To compare it to the Def Tech SC4000 would be like comparing a candle to a flame thrower. It's not just the endless bass, but it's the depth of the bass (13hz response) and the power behind it. If you are looking for the best and don't want to spend money and feel disappointed - buy this. I have high demands on my Home Theater system and this completely satisfied my bass requirements. Only 'negative' is the physical size (and weight I suppose), but even though it weighs nearly 200lbs it can easily be moved. It's finding a place that it blends in with that can be challenging...and it can look like a mini refrigerator but if you remove the front grille that eliminates that 'problem' if you think it looks like another appliance. Overall, super satisfied and can't wait to watch other new movies on this beast. It's definitely not inexpensive, but often times you really get what you pay for. And when you buy this and it arrives, you won't think for a second that your money was wasted.

Have a room you can fill or blow out your windows."which will make room for this Monster Subwoofer To Breath" You can tune the ports to get the 16hZ to 18hZ you are looking for. the only drawback is this Subwoofer does take a lot of area. if you have the room and the sound treatments to prevent bad resonance, this is for you. It sounds best elevated off the floor. But at nearly 200 lbs. how do you do this. I bought 4 pneumatic casters, some additional isolation rubber and this unit is now 8" higher and I can move it anywhere. When the wife is not around. Clean, and I mean Clean Low End Bass. replaced my Infinity HPS 1000 for this unit. 20 years of the HPS. Ah what a great Subwoofer. But it can't hold a candle to this unit. The SVS is Twice the size which is a bummer. But I have the Room for the Bass and the room of the Sub. So for me it's a Win / Win. Except for the wife. We've been married for 35 years. She expects better but keeps coming up with me. Love the Sub and Love the Wife for putting up with me.

This sub is awesome, but way to large. I went with dual PB-3000s which in my opinion sounds better than one Ultra.

I purchased my SVS 16 ultra direct from SVS and I've had it for a while now and just wanted to share my thoughts. This is sub is astonishing, it can be a gentle low end and then it can rattle your house and punch you in the chest. It plays well at all volumes, and with the app and the tuning plugs this sub is very versatile. I have a few other subs sealed and ported in my home theater setup but none of them can hang with this SVS. This monster drops well below what I can hear, I tested this using a tone gen and sweeping down. The room goes silent but when you talk you hear and feel the rumble, the house shakes and it's kinda freaky. I demo'd this speaker to my family and they could not believe it. The only Con to these subs is their size and weight, moving the beast is a pain. But that is also a pro because the speaker is solid as frig. Bottom Line this sub hangs with the best in the world, and punches above it's cost.
