    The quality isn't as high as advertised. And the system is a bit slow. But the price of it was pretty good so while I can complain, i'm still going to keep it.

    This is our first video security system. It ended up being a weekend project. We are enjoying the fact that we can access our System via Internet or Wi-Fi. The Swann representative was excellent in her job. She assisted in setting up the remote access via Internet explorer. Because, this is our first system we have no experience with any other however, I am very satisfied. If you have no technological experience whatsoever I recommend using this system. There Is only a need for a monitor connected via a VGA or HDMI cable just to set up the DVR, After that there isn't a need for a monitor because once downloaded you can use the provided MyDVR software to access the DVR via MyDVR software on the computer Via Wi-Fi Or ethernet network. Once connected to Wi-Fi or network via computer you may change all the settings in the DVR through this. There are audio alarms to alert to loss of signal or motion. If you are a first time video surveillance buyer I strongly recommend this system. I have had this system for about a week therefore I will update my review in about six months.

    If you just want fuzzy images and wasting endless amounts of time searching your video this system is for you. The software that the system uses is horrible. The old version searched in roughly 15 minute blocks which you would have to start at the beginning of the block and go through. They gave you the ability to FF up to 8x which was ok but took some time to find anything you were searching for. The new version was supposed to give you the ability to click on a time line and play from that point on. WELL it does not work. It start in the same 15 minute blocks and you don't even get the ability to FF now. UTTERLY USELESS. The DVR constantly skips recording so even if you do find the area you are looking for good luck seeing the time you want as it is probably not there. Instructions and website are horrible as well. There are better systems out there and I would advise to pony up the extra money and get a good system and make sure it is high definition. 960H is not very helpful unless the person or object is within 10 to 20 feet or so of the camera.

    This is a very good system for the cost. It was easy to install and everything worked as advertised. We are able to receive the video signal on both my Samsung phone and my wife's Iphone. The Network setup was fairly painless. We ran the cables on the outside cameras in conduit. I recommend this for protecting the cables from vandalism.

    My DVR died shortly after the 1 year warranty expired. I had to send it back to Swann along with $50 to troubleshoot it. They said it can't be fixed and I have to buy a new DVR.

    HD Failed Fast, Poor Customer Service

    Purchased the 8 camera system to deter theft at my small retail store. It worked fine for about three or four months, then just quit recording. Customer service at SWANN (what a joke) told me that it was a hard drive failure and to send it back. I did, with all proper paperwork. That was approaching two months ago. I still do not have a replacement and I cannot reach Swann by phone as their 800 number is constantly busy. Yes, in 2014 this company offers it's customers a busy signal! Unbelievable. Online support (what a joke) has me currently waiting in line for . . . oh . . . another TWELVE MINUTES. Terrible. I will never purchase another SWANN product and I cannot recommend that you do either.

    warranty is a joke

    the system is very xpensive for what it does, the cameras are great but the dvr sucks including the software installed , very low profile user. the software interface take us back to the 80''s. the warranty was my bigger issue, 1 year and 3 months later my dvr stop working and althought i set up everything, email , accounts and i registered for the extent warranty when i need it , they told me i didnt register with the 30 day when i got it. (very weird), to speak with customer service is not 24/7 like the boxes or the odd manual says. after getting in contact with customer service by mistake of the agent i shipped the dvr and someone hours after called to tell me it was a mistake on the waranty and i wasnt cover. so to please pay 50.00 out of my pocket to cover the analisis and they will contact me if i need to pay more for gettig it fix. I highly do not recomend this brand, the warranty and the politics of the company really make me regret pay 600.00 for this system.

    When the DVR is working and recording it is great. However, it skips incidents and I have had two faulty DVRs that had to be replaced with a three week return time, which led to one of my kids bikes being stolen.

    I bought this camera system after multiple fuel thefts. was told this is the best. two weeks latter it failed. so best buy replaced it. worked for a few weeks and the dvr failed agin so they replaced it agin. a few weeks latter would not work at all total hard drive failure. so best buy replace agin plus a camera that went bad two weeks latter this dvr video output quitworking. have called swann was promissed a advaned exchange buthad to give them my cc number witch i did. wa promissed new dvr would be here on friday today is tuesday and still no dvr. have asked swann for a complete refund including money to install and remove.
