I gotta say this is a huge upgrade from switch 1 hardware with what seems like a powerful nvidia apu and 12gb ram. Switch had 3gb ram for games and it did wonders so this has gotta do much more. The screen is really nice and vibrant, yes oled panels are nicer but I honestly don’t mind LCD panels. The design is gorgeous and it is comfortable to hold for hours on end. At this price point it is a pretty powerful hybrid console and I can’t complain much about it! I primarily play in handheld mode unless I’m playing something like Mario kart or Mario party with family. So far I have played cyberpunk which looks and plays super smooth compared to my steam deck and I prefer this over steamdeck any day of the week. Mario kart looks great and crisp, Zelda botw and Totk, links awakening look so crisp and the framerate is solid 60. I just wish we had more launch games but I’m patiently waiting for Donkey Kong bananza which looks insane. Overall the system at launch has solid hardware and software is clean and the games so far are great and love that switch 1 games some upgraded and those that aren’t load faster and have solid framerates. I’m curious to see how this generation will be. I’m wondering if Nintendo will introduce the Switch 2 Lite and Switch 2 Oled in a few years or maybe even a stronger version of Switch 2, idk. I highly recommend the switch 2 even though there is bit of a wait for new switch 2 exclusive games to come out.

I absolutely love my new switch! My fiancee bought this for me for Christmas(: i also have the oled version and can confidently say the screen on the new switch looks just as nice and bright and detailed if not better. The battery life is pretty short, i got about 2.5 hours in handheld mode playing cyberpunk 2077 but you can play while docked or charging. Definitely would carry a power bank if you plan to use this on the go. I love the larger size screen, and new joycons. I bought some joycon grips off amazon that make it MUCH easier to hold while playing in handheld mode and it just feels more natural in the hand especially if you are used to xbox controllers like I am. The storage capacity is Definitely lacking, i filled mine up in only 2 weeks but i did buy several downloaded games. So I'd say Definitely stick to the physical games if you can, definitely buy an express SD card (I got 512gb) you will lose some gb, you never get the full amount advertised, my 512gb express sd card only has 456gb of usable space. The switch 2 has breathed new life into my switch physical collection. All the games I missed out on or flat out dropped mid play due to low performance or bad visuals have been amazing to play on the switch 2. The console is thin and light compared to other handhelds. Games are perfectly optimized for the s2 vs pc handhelds where you have to tweak individual settings to get playable frame rates which gets tiring. The docking experience is seamless. Also my 8bitdo controller from my original switch works with the s2 after a controller and dongle firmware update which is a nice feature from 8bitdo so money saved there. I actually stopped playing and sold my ally z1x in favor for the s2 because the screen is so much nicer, bigger and it’s just easy to pick up and play due to quick resume. **Make sure you put a screen protector on it day one**

Short rundown: Screen 1080p. Can do HDR, VRR, and 120FPS. Body Bigger than Switch 1. Bigger joycons. Docked Can do 4K, 120 FPS, and HDR. Storage 256GB. Battery 2 hours, 3 with moderate brightness. I cannot count the number of hours I spent on my Switch 1. From playing inside, outside, and everywhere in between, the Switch 1 has been a steady companion giving nothing but joy, and asking for nothing in return. Sure, there have been negatives like drift (Left Joy-Con getting drift 5 times, but Nintendo still does repairs for free). I can't personally play handheld too long, or I get hand cramps. Those gripes aside, the Switch 2 was simply better than I expected it to be. With the Switch 2 now in hand, I can confidently say that hand cramps have largely been eliminated. I can play significantly longer than I could on the Switch 1, and all by virtue of the fact that Nintendo simply made them larger. Drift?we'll know soon enough whether Nintendo has redesigned them to withstand gaming. It's only been 3 months... What shocked me is how great the screen is. I play docked more than I do handheld, but the full 1080p screen makes it worth playing handheld more than I ever did with the Switch 1. The HDR(punches up the graphics) isn't just some buzzword. It really makes everything look better. I don't have a 4K TV, but when I do, I'll be playing games docked at 4k, but will probably pay extra to take advantage of 120 FPS when I do. Chat works. Both docked and handheld. Didn't get the camera, but you can use a phone if you have the right cables. The one thing I am the most happy about are the Switch 2's load times ON SWITCH INTERNAL STORAGE. Waframe could take 2 to 3 minutes. It's now about 30 seconds. Tears of the Kingdom is about 15. I don't have one of the newer microSD Express card's, but with an average of 800 bits per second, I'm sure they're only 10 seconds or more. Now to gripes. $500 is a tall order for anyone. That can be half month's rent! So, saving up is one way to go about it, but Best Buy does have good financing options. Adding gift cards to your account(KEEP THAT PASSWORD SAFE) is also a way. Battery life can be 3 hours, but most people average 2. That's why there's a second USB-C port on the top. My hands still cramp, but that's after maybe 2 hours. It's a Me thing. What it really is for me is that my thumb hates the placement of the right joycon buttons and sticks. If the Switch 1 never bothered you, you're good to go. Mouse mode can be a bit awkward, but the Switch 2 allows some 3rd party mice, so that can be dealt with. Overall, I give the Switch 2 a 9/10. I can finally play handheld on a console that was meant for it, and with a full HD screen. Time-sensitive hand cramps and battery life aside, this is better than the Switch 1.

I had been wanting one of these for quite some time and was reluctant to purchase one and upgrade my Gen 2 Switch because of the price, and I had also watched a few YouTube videos about all the pros and cons. But honestly I decided that the cons didn’t seem all that bad and didn’t affect me anyways. I cancelled a few streaming services and put the purchase on my Best Buy card to pay for it over the next 12 months so I could justify buying it and I gotta say that this thing is a massive upgrade from the original switch. It feels so much more quality built in my hands. The display and graphics are beautiful. The sound quality and volume is fantastic in handheld mode. The one downside is that the battery life doesn’t last as long as I thought it might, but it still gets a solid 4 hours of gameplay with sound and brightness up. All-in-all I love this thing and have been having a blast playing Tears of The Kingdom (Switch 2 Edition)

We are absolutely loving it. Right out of the box, the screen is so much bigger and such a bright, vivid improvement over the original Switch. The new Joy-Cons are bigger and sleeker, and the way they magnetically snap onto the console is really satisfying. It’s quickly evident that the system runs faster and more smoothly. Navigating the eShop and Switch Online apps feels fast and smooth. And the games… the games are gorgeous. We’re finally playing Nintendo in shiny 4K! Switch 1 games even run noticeably better, and the Switch 2 upgrades for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are so beautiful that they immediately feel like whole new games. They look and feel like this was always how they were meant to be played. Onboard storage is only 250GB, but unless you’re moving over eight years’ worth of Switch 1 games, that’ll be more than enough to hold you over until you’re ready to expand. And don’t overlook the excellent Nintendo GameCube app, which is only playable on this console. After eight years (!) with the Switch 1, the Switch 2 is such an instantly appreciable upgrade in every way that it’s a sheer delight from the moment you take it out of the box. We’re having an absolute blast and so is everyone we know. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Even though I mainly play just pokemon games, this is a perfect pair for the Legends Z-A performance wise. It is very smooth. Load times are snappy. Screen responsiveness is smooth. The OLED screen was enough for me, but sure, extra real state for the eyes, I’ll take it. Oh, and it never got bulkier than I thought. It’s battery hungry for sure, but I like that they put an extra USB C on top of the console so you can plug it in a portable battery pack, no need to dock it, while playing table top.

I recently bought the Nintendo Switch 2, Upgrading from the first Nintendo Switch is a huge difference. The graphics are noticeably better, everything runs smoother, and the overall performance just feels faster. Games load quicker and look way more polished compared to the original Switch. Even navigating the menus feels more responsive. Best Buy made the whole process easy too. The store had it in stock, checkout was quick, and the staff were helpful without being pushy. If you’re debating upgrading because of the price, honestly don’t even bother stressing about it it’s 100% worth it. The improvements are obvious right away and it feels like a true next-gen upgrade. Overall, the Switch 2 is a massive improvement over the original and I’m really glad I bought it

I have been very much enjoying the Nintendo Switch 2 as someone who has owned an original Switch since 2017. It upgrades almost every important aspect of the original. Better hardware performance, better build quality, bigger screen, etc. But it doesn't do anything ground breaking or new, but that's okay. The Switch was a massive success so this is obviously made to appeal to Switch 1 owners. If you didn't own or weren't interested in an original Switch than this console isn't for you. Being able to play original switch games without any frame rate issues has added a whole list of new games I want to play/replay. Despite what many others say I think the price point is pretty fair. It's expensive but it is high end performance with a good screen and dock. The steam deck for example is $400 with about the same game performance but does not have detachable joy cons or a dock included. There is some missed potential though. The screen while bright and big, has some minor but noticeable ghosting issues on certain games, and the HDR is weak. Game key cards are a hotly debated topic but I am very disappointing in both the companies using them and Nintendo for making it. I would still rather buy a key card than a digital key as at least I own the license however I still do not own the game. It annoys me because if the normal cards are too expensive, such an obvious solution is to have an "install card" that has the game on a slower, cheaper card but requires an install to internal storage. That way you don't need internet but companies can still have a cheaper option. Some of the shortcomings of the original have also not been fixed. The Ui is still bland with no customization or music, the joy cons are still not ergonomic, and the battery life hasn't improved. I'm happy with it overall though. It's really the upgrade the Switch needed and it will definitely by main way to play games for the foreseeable future.

I love the switch 2, better performance than the first switch. A much bigger screen, more Ram, and better cooling capabilities. Games load faster, and at a higher resolution. Only downside is there's no grip on the switch 2, making it uncomfortable to hold if you're going to game on it for hours on end.

We recently purchased the Nintendo Switch 2 from Best Buy during their late night release—and it was more than just a product, it was a milestone moment for our 9-year-old son. A great console, I mostly use it in handheld mode but its such a huge improvement in docked mode over the previous Switch, being able to do up to 4K with supported games is great. As far as handheld mode, having a bigger screen that is lcd but solid is very nice and makes a big difference! Its 120hz with VRR which is a nice touch. I know many complain about the price but compared to other handheld PCs its priced great for this model with just console, no games at $450.

So far it works great. It’s clear and the larger screen is such a plus! Downloaded 6 games so far without a problem and it’s not heavy. The controllers are cool to put on , clip on and off instead of the switch 1. I love it !

Nintendo did a good job of making the switch much more powerful without changing too much when it comes to ergonomics and portability. The screen size is fantastic but the bezels and screen type could be improved upon. Theres a bit of wasted space around the screen itsself which makes it look less sleek. The screen couldve been an oled instead of giving us an lcd, which wouldve also improved upon battery life and given us deeper darker blacks and better contrast. The joycons are larger which make it much more usable for adults. Theyre using the same style analogs which means eventually theyll have an issue with stick drift. Nintendo shouldve changed to TMR or Hall effect analogs to avoid this issue completely. Overall the switch 2 is a must have. Eventually when improved upon it will be a 5/5 product.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is honestly a great upgrade if you enjoy playing both on the TV and on the go. The new screen looks much brighter and sharper, and the console feels faster overall. Games load quicker, the graphics look cleaner, and everything runs more smoothly.

I can say this has been my second favorite video game console purchase in the last 10 years. The first was the orginal switch so you could say yes i am a fan of nintendo. This gave me the ability to play games i wouldn’t have had the ability to play on the OG Switch like Assasssin’s Creed Shadows, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Street fighter 6, etc. being able to game while i do my daily treadmill walks by just bringing this to th gym with me also helps me stay active and beat more games in my backlog and with the larger/brighter screen i fully feel immersed without worrying about falling off! safe to say this was worth the $500 with Mario kart world. And Donkey kong Banaza &Kirby Air Riders are some of the most fun games ive played ever!

The Nintendo Switch 2 takes everything I love about the original Switch console and improves on it in nearly every way. It has better graphics, more power, faster load times, and a sleek new look. My only complaint isn't with the console itself, but rather with the fact that nearly all 3rd party games on the system are digital key cards and do not actually contain the games themselves. That pretty much kills the idea of having your games on the go. FYI Nintendo, the internet does not exist everywhere, and there are still customers who would love to purchase the new Switch but will not because they do not have internet access. I know some personally. That being said, the machine itself does work wonderfully, and I would have given it 5 stars if not for the dependence on an internet connection

Games look sharper, load faster, and run smoother, especially in docked mode where many hit 4K. The console supports backward compatibility, so your old games and accessories still work. New titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza show off what the hardware can do. Haven't fully tested battery life just yet, mostly because I play with it at home 99% of the time. One positive thing though, Nintendo's eShop on the Switch 2 feels snappier, pages and items load faster and navigation overall across the store is way better than on the original Switch, kudos to Nintendo for improving on this, this was one of my main complaints with the Switch 1. Overall, a solid upgrade that improves on almost everything. Not revolutionary, but absolutely the best way to experience Nintendo games today.

Battery life is solid for what this system does, so no complaints there. For me, this is a full 5-star upgrade. Note: A lot of people assume “LCD = downgrade from OLED,” but that’s not the case here. This panel really shines and proves it can match and even beat the OLED version in color and black.
